GTA IV Patch 1.0.8.0/EfLC Patch 1.1.3.0

Am i the only one who still prefers not modding their game? i like keeping it the way it was suppose to be.

Anyways bought GTA IV Complete Edition, downloaded IV and did the first mission and dropped by in Multiplayer to see if anyone was around and there were a few people, made a new account though since i hadn't logged into my old gfwl one which i made with the retail disc version for years. anyways i get to enjoy GTA IV again and it's finally in my steam library, cool.

I don't bother with ENBs or high poly real-brand car mods, I keep it in touch with the game's universe/tone.

Stuff like this:

I like using ENB but I just end up using simply RealityIV timecycle mod as it still looks like cryENB without all the bloom and enb stuff, and it doesn't affect performance like an ENB does.

I don't know if this has happened to any of you, but the patch doesn't know my graphic card which is a gtx 1080. After my benchmark it said 65 average fps and only 8% video memory used, then question marks at my video adapter and audio adapter. Please reply if that has happened to you.

PS game runs amazingly now anyway

Ive never run IV with any mods and ive owned the game from day of release I was living in Canada then.

Only thing ive ever done is used weapons cheats to mess around but that's it.

Its a personal choice if you want to mod your game but I like to play it the way it was intended to be played, I still love it as much as I did on release day.

well actually i wouldn't know because i didn't play it with my 980ti with the new patch, i only got my 1080 yesterday and thats when i tested it. im sure its had a tiny performance increase, not necessarily more fps but stable at keeping it at the high fps.

in patch 7 I get average 53fps but patch 8 usually constant 60fps. So there's quite a huge improvement there :p

For some weird reason, my game is lagging more after the patch, and my trainer is crashing the game. BTW, I have a REALLY low end PC, but it could run the game on min at ~40fps, but now it stays below 5...

It's probably that your PC can't handle the position based 360 degree texture rendering that patch 8 introduces replacing the in front of you rendering the last patches have. It's better for computers able to do it because there's less rendering happening constantly but not so good on low end due to the extra video memory that it probably is using for that method

That's because VSync was broken in 1.0.7.0. We all had this bug.

Getting better performance FPS wise, but when new objects load in the distance, I get stuttering. Not game breaking-freezing stuttering, just a little one.

iv gets an update and now only requires two 1080 gtx's in SLI instead of 3 to run smoothly.

More like a record breaking 8.7 GHz overclock on your CPU, and even then you might still get drops to 40 FPS.

I have a "portable" installation of GTA IV

How can i get the (raw)-files from Patch 8 to copy them over?

I can't install it, because GTA is not installed.

I've never experienced the bugs mentioned as I'm playing with an old video card, far from modern. Good patch for rich people.

Old video card has nothing to do with it, ive tried GTAIV on some older tech just to see if it would run, the glitches are present, it skips frames and one of the tunnels has disapearing graphics. There are other odd things going on to.

Has anyone heard Alice Cooper - Go To Hell on EFLC LRR since the patch? Either it's become a victim of R* or I'm f*cking unlucky with this damn radio.

Edit: Oh thank god it's still there. It took me 30+ minutes of listening to LRR just to confirm it.

There have been changes to the commands between 1.0.7.0 and 1.0.8.0, including the inclusion of some seemingly debug ones. grcore = RAGE graphics core?

Some Songs have always played more frequently than others.

So, pretty much:

-FrameQueueLimit was added

-percentvidmem was probably renamed to -extravidmem

-nocache was added

-lazydelete was added

-d3dst and -d3dmt were added

Why i got the feeling the -d3dmt improves framerate by like 5FPS?

@Tomasak

I haven't done extensive tests on that but it made my performance worse compared to d3dst (single-threaded)

Again, frametime testing is more important although a bit more irritating to do...

the multi thread command made my game not to go framerate under 30FPS, before using that command framerate could go here and there to 25FPS on max settings.

-lazydelete seems to hold stuff on VRAM...
