Forgotten Features of GTA Online

New topic: what are the forgotten features of GTA Online? This is a list of my personal opinions, and if you still participate in any of these activities, that is great. This is just my OPINION based on MY EXPERIENCES.

 

1. Contact missions. I used to grind these all the time on the xbox 360. Rooftop Rumble, the LS Connection, Holed Up - Burton, those were the classic grind missions I used to do all the time. But due to the arrival of Finance and Felony and Bikers, and also Heists, contact mission payouts are really bad when comparing it to the other ways of making money.

 

2. Benny's lowriders. I still have a lowrider or two in my garage, but I rarely visit Benny's and I rarely see anyone with a pimped out lowrider. The main reason because of this is probably because lowrider were expensive. Really. Really f*cking expensive. And then Rockstar obviously created Lowriders Custom Classics and the January update, which included more lowriders. So Rockstar kind of milked it out as much as they could.

 

3. (Street) races. I know that many people still do these, but I never do them anymore since the arrival of Cunning Stunts. Cunning Stunts brought the new Stunt Races, which are, in my opinion, better and more fun than the original races.

 

4. Simeon vehicles. I never get any Simeon vehicles. And I don't know anyone know does either.

 

5. This might be the most controversial one, but this is just based on my experience. HEISTS. I know that a lot of people still do these, but I have a lot of bad experiences with heists. People leaving, people acting like idiots. I know you are supposed to do it with friends but my friends aren't always online and they don't always play GTA Online. After Finance and Felony and Bikers, I just don't have a reason to do Heists anymore. I just do Special Crate and Business missions.

Contact Missions, because if you relative new to online (like me) they are pretty much hidden from you. The map doesn't show them, no contact gives you missions, no invites.

 

What Rockstar seem to think newbies should do first is lamar missions (where the lowriders are explained to you). You get invite to heist (and off course get kicked right away, because you have level 5).

 

It is interesting how Rockstar says, they want the players to play different things but hides most of them as default, make getting in them crappy as f*ck and pretty much spam your inbox with the same things over and over again (stunt races, heists and the latest adversary mode).

Heists...it is somewhat disturbing people actually tell themselves ceo missions earn more.

 

Seriously, there were donzans of people claiming ceo missions were the best because they could not find good players anyhow....basic math pretty much shows that if those people would actually share their gamertag/psn/steam they would all be better off heisting instead of doing boring fetch quests and decent, but not great paying ceo missions.

Versus missions. I only played them in the very early days of GTA Online. New players don't probably even know they exist.

Yeah, they end up killing yourself more often than anyone else.

 

 

 

I hardly ever see anyone using Valkyries. With them needing more than one player, and being pretty vulnerable - I've only ever seen a handful of them in all the time since they were released.

 

I still haven't even done the lowrider missions for Lamar, and hardly ever get invites for them.

How do you forget Simeon's SMS spam? He does it literally every hour and makes sure it annoys you, that's far from forgotten.

 

A real forgotten feature would be using ATMs instead of the Maze Bank website and Impromptu Races.

I use 20+ airstrikes a day, just because no one else does. It's a recent thing for me but it makes missions a hell of a lot more fun. Also working out ways to employ it in freeroam is a challenge. We need more contact missions, we need the mission creator unlocked.

Merryweather Ammo drop.

 

You get less ammo in it for the money than you would get from buying it... in the interaction menu.

 

So you can get more for less money and skip the wait for the drop + the possibility of someone intercepting it.

 

Only use is getting molotovs, really.

Definitely Versus Missions; they even removed one of the better ones, but it's been so long that I can't remember the name. Sometimes they'll show up as a Daily Objective, but I'd gather that is about the only time people play them.

 

Also, Tennis...

 

Definitely not Heists though; I can't go five or ten minutes without receiving an invite to one.

Oh and the original super cars..I rarely see anyone driving an Entity or an Adder anymore..
