GTA SA Train Transfender Modding Garage

Recommended Posts

Currently im working on a cleo mod with which i can upgrade and modify train engine in one of the empty loco sheds at sobell rail yard

you can edit following

performance

1. Turbo (as its a diesel engine)

3 levels with increasing cost and acceleration

2. Superboost (like nitro for quick speed bursts)

4 levels with increasing cost and boost amount and 1,2 levels with limited use (needs to wait for charging again like old nitro in original game) and 3,4 level for unlimited ondemand use.

Cosmetics

1. Ofc primary and secondary color

2. Paintjob if any

3. Bass boost for radio

4. Hydraulics xD (i edited carmods.dat and this unwanted hydraulics option appeared automatically and cant be removed coz i think its hardcoded in .exe application although game doesnt crash when selecting and installing it and it seems to have no effect at all (obviously lol) other than the waste effect on your money with power of 1500. If one can help me to remove this option then welcome.)

1. My problem is that the loco shed or empty garage at sobell rail yard has no lights in the night and its completely dark. So i want light which is present in tunnel just before sobell rail yard in all those 4 garages there so that they are well lit enough to see engines at night inside garage. How to add lighting to garage shed ?

2. The train speed limits to 360 kmph with 0 to 3 carriages with any amount of speed and acceleration modified in handling.cfg coz i think its hardcoded in .exe same like plane speed limits to 270 kmph. How to remove this limit ?

3. I want to save the modified engine when i park it in a particular loco shed like parking in save house saves car even if you quit game. How to save the engine in this way ?

4. If possible (not really a problem) how to remove hydraulic option from transfender menu JUST FOR TRAINS ?

Thanx to all who took time to read all this and think of helping me.

Jst for the betterment of game and love for the trains !!

It must be somewhere in CTrain::ProcessControl (0x6F86A0) (or/and CTrain::FindMaximumSpeedToStopAtStations (0x6F5BA0)). If you have a time you can experiment by changing some constant values there (50, 255, 500, 512).

You can write information about 'saved' vehicles into some external file (text or binary). Edited by DK22Pac

IIRC, trains can be saved in a save garage but the game crashes when the garage is opened. I always wondered if the trains would spawn if track were available in the garage.

Any locomotive or train in the san andreas if to be spawned 'always needs a track' or the game will crash for sure........you have to detect nearby track & then spawn it on the track or have a crash!

well the way GTA SA camping mobile save house works (its a mod, google it if don't know), its has a trailer which is attached behind a JOURNEY & it saves the cars on its back.........

Maybe in that way or the other we can save the trains......but I've read somewhere (maybe wrong though) that it doesn't save the modifications on the car because the script just spawns totally new vehicle of that ID whenever a game is loaded.....

Sobell rail yard has a lot of empty tracks & 2 of them have a loco shed.....so what I plan is, I will make an .ini file in which the values will be stored once I install mods on the locomotive (like 0 or 1) & when a new game is loaded I can spawn the same ID locomotive on the track in that shed with a script & make the script read the values from .ini & make it reinstall those modifications back on the train.......

Out of those 2 garages, 1 will be a save garage & 1 for just spawning (or purchasing) a new brown streak or freight engine with the option to chose the orientation (direction of travel) & number or carriages......if 0 carriages, it will spawn in garage or if carriages >0 then it has to be moved from shed to a certain point on the track nearby so that there will be space to spawn the carriages......

Any other suggestion welcomed & appreciated......thank you !

( I love trains like anything & San too)

I am extremely sorry for (unimaginably) late response from my side.

I had no idea that my modding phase would come to a tragic end so abruptly.

Life is unpredictable, but everything's fine rn. Long time..... Right.

So...... just got a brand new PC (beast) and I am back into modding.

Here to ask - any kind of suggestions for this mod - what can be added or any ideas to make this mod a complete train driving experience!

Also, I am thinking of adding some train transport missions like in 'Train Sim World'.

I know the map is small, but I will try my best to be innovative lol.
