NEW CHARACTER AND 120LVL WTF?

Yes, because at the on-screen prompt, you chose that...

"Players are now able to copy the Rank of their existing character into the second character slot when creating a new character. The Rank has been capped at 120."

Try reading things before clicking.

I'm pretty sure far from 100% of users know 100% of the patch notes or everything about the game (that's why there's a "things you didn't know" thread). It may not excuse them, but nobody's perfect.

Why are you defending him? You're the one who pointed out that he clicked through the rather obvious prompt.

Because the prompt doesn't explain how this came about - if you did this 3 months ago, you'd be starting your second character at rank 2. I'll have to go on later and create another 2nd character on an account and be reminded what the actual message is.

I can easily understand how people can be a bit confused whether they're fools for not reading the patch notes beforehand or not - especially if English is not their first language, even if that's not our problem. Some people take breaks from the game that are so long, several updates happen in between.

I don't like spoonfeeding people either, but the GTA V community is cancerous enough as it is so taking a minute of my day to reply with the proper info isn't too bad for me considering the message doesn't say "Since the Bikers update, you can now do this:".

EDIT - meh, I'm making a mountain out of a molehill.

Yeah the only ever-so-slightly concerning thing in my eyes is that your player skills will be low, as if it's a low rank. There's a small chance that, particularly on PC, you'd be "higher up on the list" to be reported by another player if there was something odd going on in a session (or what have you) because of that, as an accuser could say they've just ranked up fast to get the unlocks (with a cheat menu for example).

If Rockstar Games are confident in that report system (I'm not) then with this new ban policy, it may be something to keep in mind - if you're a little pedantic like me at least. I'd just stick in an invite only session to work on some stats to get them up just a little more.

We're not talking about an obscure entry in the patch notes that even 90% of the people on the forum would be unaware of; this is a giant blackscreen "ALERT" message that you have to click through by choosing one of two options. Anyway, your first reply to the topic explained this.
