One thing I wonder is how will Trump and now appointed Secretary Of Defense James Mattis get along? Mattis has spoken in strong support of U.S involvment in NATO and voiced concerns about cooperating with Russia.

So the first course of action for Trump to accomplish is undoing every good thing Obama has done by removing the climate change awareness and LGBT rights pages from the White House website, as well as affordable healthcare?

Holy f*ck, I never thought someone worse than Bush would take office, but it seems like a lot of Americans enjoy being f*cked in the ass and taking fundamental rights for granted.

The riots are fully justified, no doubt about that.

This would be kinda funny if the US president wasn't in charge of some world changing policies. Americans f*cked the entire world when they elected this maniac.

Are you actually defending a neo-nazi? The punch is fully justified.I didn't say that the guy didn't deserve a punch. All I did was to say that the guy who delivered the punch is a complete coward. Which he actually is, since he punched a guy who didn't see it coming.

I think the fact that Trump talking sh*t on Twitter has actually created/saved US jobs is pretty impressive and nice.

Except that's only true if you believe Trump's propaganda. The things that Trump has been taking credit for are actually things that's been in the works for quite some time and has nothing to do with his insane tweets. Edited by jatiger13

That's true about some but not all of it. I remember that you are right and some of it was propaganda, but he did actually save jobs.

Trump is in a very precarious position. The overt religiosity of his inauguration was clearly an attempt to court the Christian right, but they are not really for him, they are simply against the Democrats. He is a New Yorker, sexually immoral, was once affiliated with the Democrats. It would not shock me if Pence is already devising a way to unseat him, especially as the legality of his election win is still in question.

What is Trump's power base? He ran as a Washington outsider, but now has to govern as one, which is a very different thing.

What a complete and utter coward. It's laughable how cowardly that act was. Punching someone who isn't looking or even aware. You can't try to be a bigger pussy, no matter how hard you try.

lol

It's a street corner, not a boxing ring. If you're expecting a fair fight, you're gonna have a bad time.

EDIT: And let's be real, there's nothing more cowardly than a chickensh*t Nazi that is too spineless to actually label himself a Nazi.

This all could have been avoided had ABC not given Dick a platform to promote his hip new cartoon frog brand of fascism to begin with. The interviewer, the camera crew, and whomever sent them there should get a nice solid punch in the head too.

New WH pres sec Sean Spicer's first press conference. Lambasted the media for "inaccurately" reporting the number of people that showed up to Trump's inauguration then ran off the stage like a weasel refusing to answer any questions. What a pathetic angry little man.

So the new administration is just going to keep drawing the fake news card every time somebody reports something they don't like? Can anybody spell authoritarianism?

Richard Spencer is completely irrelevant though, and far too much attention has been given to him. I guess anyone making Hitler salutes as a genuine political statement is deserving of karma in the form of physical violence, but I wouldn't mind seeing antifa's that were burning cars getting batted either.

You know they were burning limos and SUVs, not plumbers' trucks?

Just so we're clear here: you're now a liberal and consider wealth inequality natural or desirable? Why?

It doesn't matter. Punching people from behind and burning property just makes you a moral degenerate.

I'm actually voting social democrat the upcoming election, but I don't really feel at home at any specific ideology or party that currently exists. I identify as a classical liberal. I still dislike neoliberalism.

Some wealth inequality is natural, because people differ in talents and contributions, and rewarding people for contributing is natural. Motivating people by rewarding work and creativity is natural. Rewarding people regardless of performance or contribution is unnatural and dysfunctional. The vast wealth inequality we face currently though is not natural, and actually a moral issue. But it is interesting how the justified moral outrage about the ten richest people owning more wealth than the poorest half of earth was met with exactly zero ways to solve this problem.

I don't really see the point of giving much elaboration on how I changed politically though, but it's nice you guys are interested..

We don't consider it legitimate to own a limousine. You apparently consider taking some posh boy's limo away from him to be moral degeneracy. .

I'm just trying to get it straight. So you are now a liberal, that is you believe in market Capitalism? I mean your ideal society apparently still has limousines.

We don't consider it

Why the collective speak? Who is this 'we' that has agreed on the illegitimacy of limousines?

legitimate to own a limousine. You apparently consider taking some posh boy's limo away from him to be moral degeneracy. .

If a resentful societal fringe group goes around destroying property, then yes, I see it as moral degeneracy.

I'm just trying to get it straight. So you are now a liberal, that is you believe in market Capitalism?

I believe in regulated capitalism, yes.

I mean your ideal society apparently still has limousines.

I've not yet found a reason that limousines should be banned.

Not A Nice Person

The womens march was phenomenal it's definitly going down in history, it was much better than Trump's tanked inaugration.

500,000-700,000k were in LA's march, even some marched in Antarctica.

Well I wouldn't personally go around punching rightists and setting cars on fire but I don't see fit to oppose people doing it, The rich lock people in sweatshops, wage constant pointless war and are slowly destroying the planet. The people who react to that with vandalism have the moral high ground. They shouldn't feel bad for making some posh boy take the bus, when they took the bus there themselves.

I've not found a reason why it should be somebody's full time job to man luxury transportation for the rich. It's not that they should be banned, but that the labour necessary to operate one is coercive and relies on extreme structural inequality and wouldn't exist in a rational society..

There's also the fact that yes, if I am taking the bus or a taxi and some guy is going to work in a limo I don't really have any reason to support his right to do so. You say it's 'resentful' but personally I think society spends x amount on my standard of living, and people with more than x have to justify themselves to me. You say they have talent and they work hard or whatever, but it seems to me that the elite's contributions to society range from lacklustre to actively destructive.

As for Spencer getting decked, while I think it's important to maintain norms of free expression under Capitalism- for the left's own benefit- whether that precludes passive support for antifa is up for debate. I don't think it does necessarily, Spencer isn't advancing any serious policy platform and is a literal real life troll. On the other hand antifa is a sort of activist infrastructure that developed to deal with right wing thugs, and people like Spencer are ostensibly public intellectuals. Either way I think it's pretty funny.
