Does strength actually help reduce damage taken?

At least when jumping from elevations, you don't easily tumble or hurt yourself when you hit the ground.

Not sure if it reduces damage taken from punches or if you will deal more damage with punches.

Well let's see..

Strength makes you stronger / fist fight to increase(?) I assume.

Stamina makes you have more stamina / run to increase

Flying makes you fly better / fly to increase

Lung capacity increases your lung capacity / swim under water to increase

Driving makes you drive better / drive to increase

Shooting makes you shoot better / shoot to increase

Stealth makes you... I honestly don't know, probably more Stealthy / move while Stealth mode to increase

Really? Nice:D I know you take less damage from punches and your punches will do more damage. It became easier to 1HKO NPC's as I got more strength

If you run up to an NPC and punch they'll also go flying further with more strength. I like to punch NPC's into lakes, campfire, walls etc for fun sometimes HAHAHA

But idk about taking damage from other stuff though

I think you'll fall of bikes less with more strength but that's just my theory

Shooting stat will increase the amount of ammo you can carry in every gun (max is 9999), so I'd say it's pretty important. Also stamina on max makes that you can sprint forever. The rest of the stats are less important IMO. :)

I think all Heist fetishists, like me, know this wall in the Pacific Standard finale:

If you have a poor strength stat, you won't land on your feet nor will you be able to do a combat roll on the ground, you will just smash on the ground after climbing this wall.^^

(Although it's not that high)

That's where I've noticed the difference/advantage of a better strength stat for the first time.

stealth makes the little red circle around you expand less when moving. Helps against npcs, maybe in deathmatch too when you can't see blips all the time. Edited by FlacidJack

That sums it up....almost.

Strenght:

Definetly increases the dmg of your melee attacks. I noticed because i got way more 1-hit KOs as the stat increased.

To increase, you need a fist fight, so just punching NPCs until they fall won't increase the stat. They have to fight back and have a red circle on the map.

Stamina:

Maxed out, your character is able to run as long as long as you like. With more stamina (but not maxed out), you character can run longer.

Can be trained by running (obviously) or by riding a bike. (I took a bike ride from LS up to mount chilliad)

Flying:

Decreases the effects turbulences have on you: Just fly straight forward in a plane, you will notice a small wobble from time to time, which makes it necessary to readjust to stay on course. The will get lesser with a hi9ghe stat, but never goes away completely

To increase, fly (duh) or visit fly school to increase it a bit faster.

Lung capacity:

You can dive longer. Dive to increase. Simple as that

Driving:

I think it enhances the handling of the vehicles in generally. Not increased by driving around in general, but by driving against traffic, doing near misses in cars and i thing drifting as well.

Shooting:

Don't know what it does (decreases reload-times, increases general accuracy maybe?). I think you have to actually hit a target to increase the stat. Can be trained at the ammu-nations with a shooting range,

Stealth:

Increased stat makes you more quiet when moving in stealth mode, can be seen by the noise-cycle you make on the map. Max stat makes no noise at all by moving. Sneak around in stealth mode to increase.

Shooting, Driving and Stamine will increase during normal gameplay.

Stealth is only necessary (and possible) in a few missions (e.g. MC supply robbing or the Series A Heist setup where you inflitrate the Lost trailer park at night. Or Prison Break- Wet Work )But in none of the you have to be quiet and sneaky like a ninja, a low stat is still quiet enough,a supressor is way more important. Can't really think of any other missions where you actually sneak.

OT: I like sneaking around, please tell me more missions where i can sneak around and lill enemies without all of them getting at me once i stab someone in the back :D

Strenght: Only quoting other posts, it can be practical because you're able to jump from higher grounds. But you almost certainly have to train it dedicately

Flying: Do the Flight school lessons once (i did 8of 10) and you're fine. It's not like your unable to control a plane without any training. The rest comes by "learning by doing)

Lung volume: You don't really need to train that, i cannot think of an advanatge at least. The only mission where you have to dive i can think of is humane labs finale, and there you have oxygen masks, so don't suffocate either way.

For strength, play golf.

Set starting hole to 6 and ending hole to 6, play and repeat.

For Stealth, do it in a contact mission it increase faster in a mission.

Start a mission, and before you deliver the package rubber band your controller so you stealth walk in circles.

Then go watch a movie or something. :)

Okay, here's my experience with the stats.

STAMINA: The best and easiest to earn stat, simply lets you run for a extended period of time, up to infinite, and you increase by doing those tasks (running, swimming, cycling)

SHOOTING: Makes the amount of ammo you can carry higher, up to 9999 (basically infinite), makes recoil less of a problem, and allows for more accurate shots.

STRENGTH: Allows the character to deal more damage, up to a 1 hit KO (Here comes Randy Orton....RKO!! xD), take more damage from bullet, melee, and ragdoll damage, and as a added bonus, you can jump from taller things and do a roll without the possibility of smashing your face off the concrete. Increase by getting into fights (they have to fight back, with a red circle on the radar) and doing sports.

STEALTH: Allows you to move faster while sneaking and make less noise. Increase by walking in stealth mode, and successfully doing stealth takedowns. This skill really shines in DMs, where this can protect you from being revealed to other players.

FLYING: Allows for less turbulence, and your aircraft is more maneuverable. Increase by flying, or completing flight school challenges with higher medals.

DRIVING: You spin out less, have more control over the vehicle, lets you maintain high speeds longer and gives you more control over the airborne spinning. Increase by driving or participating in races and getting good spots.

LUNG CAPACITY: Lets you be underwater for more, increase by doing exactly that. Becomes redundant when you unlock the Rebreather since it functions like a scuba suit, although limited.

(GTA Online only) MENTAL STATE: This alerts other players how dangerous you are and how much you probably will kill them. Why? It's increased by killing players, that's why.

Pier Pressure during daylight is good as well for strenght. No wanted level and there are quite a few NPCs willing to fight. Jump or run into people, if they wanna punch you fight back.

Especially the owners of the fast food carts or the living statue standing around where the pier gets narrow are 100% sure to fight back. finish the mission by sunset (less people spawn when it's dark), repeat at next day.

STRENGTH is super important. It makes so you can roll from higher jumps, and like Khephera said...

Nothing

Least effective: Not playing the game

Most effective: Play the game

that's pretty much it :^:

Obviously you don't play GTA V enough. Edited by PwnageSoldier
