Enemies sometimes go full retard when they die, similar to a Bethesda game. They just keep break dancing in supersonic speed. Normally it doesn't bother me at all but this game is one of the most immersive games I've ever played so seeing those enemies glitching does bother me a bit. Otherwise, it's the God of War of first person shooters. Edited February 24, 2019 by chronic lumbago Iroquois and OurJud

It couldn't be open ended even if they wanted it to be, unless they went back to square one and made it so. Mexicola9302
Im okay with the game, the only problem i have is i have to reload my weapons after like every 2 or 3 bullets, can i clean my weapons somehow, or how does it work? i got a AK ish weapon with 30 bullets in the magazine but i have to press reload every 3 bullets, it is annoying af. There are sometimes like 6 or 7 of these monsters attacking me, i wouldn't have a problem killing them all if i didn't have to "reload" every 3 bullets. I know we carry around our "workstation" backpack but i didn't find the option to maintain or clean my guns.

I still don't have the money to buy this game yet, but are you sure it's because of poor weapon maintenance? Usually in FPS this is indicated by a 'gun jam' animation. Mr. Scratch
You get a workstation in the Aurora and safehouses you can find. And you don't have to reload, you can just clear the jam by cycling the bolt, look around the controls. Mexicola9302

Stormingz
I’ve just completed my run and got the good ending, and overall I enjoyed the experience. Granted it isn’t perfect and has its flaws but it never took away from the overall experience for me. This game is one of the most immersive, atmospheric games I’ve played in a long time, and in my opinion surpasses the previous two titles. You have enough dose of gameplay in the tunnels, and dark bunkers that it doesn’t entirely leave its Metro roots, while still creating something fresh with its open levels on the surface. I loved that feeling of brotherhood you have with your fellow crew mates, it helps that every character I felt were interesting, and brought something unique to help create that family type bond with each other. The small sections between the main levels where you can interact with your crew, were some of my favourite moments to be fair. Now for the flaws, as much as I enjoyed the open ended levels, I wish there was a bit more to do, as it stands the points of interest are either a monster den, bandit outpost, a safe house or just a building to loot up, which there was a variety of the latter. Also, I feel like the stealth wasn’t really worked on since Last Light, pretty much the same system as it was then, I didn’t notice any real big changes to stealth. My only final gripe would be the combat, for some reason I’d sometimes miss an easy shot only because the aiming feels a bit slow or off? even with my sensitivity turned up to max, but like I said it wasn’t that big of a game changer for me, I still enjoyed the combat for the most part. I do hope they continue the Metro series, in my opinion it is one of the best post-apocalyptic games money can buy. trip and Mister Pink
Mr. Scratch
The aiming is definitely f*cky, at least on consoles. I think they're working on a patch for it as well.

OurJud
How do I take an unbroken gas mask off a dead enemy when mine gets broken? I'm stuck on a level because it's cracked, but I can't take the good ones off dead enemies?? Edited May 8, 2019 by OurJud
Mr. Scratch
You can't, you have to fix yours. Pressing whatever button is used to wipe down your mask also puts a bandaid on it if the glass is cracked. OurJud

OurJud
Granted I've so far been lucky enough to avoid the reported bugs, but my opinion so far is that Exodus is as close to gaming perfection as I've ever encountered. For me - and I recognise these things probably mean nothing to most gamers - it's the little things that make this so brilliant. The ability to lower my weapon at will. The real-time map (no game pausing). The objective compass on wrist. The safehouse with their rest/save/recover health features. The no HUD/Hints option that includes the removal of these annoying button prompts for opening doors and looting corpses that plague other first-person games with a supposed no HUD option. This game is living proof that first-person shooter games - even those with a complex controller map like this - can be played without any HUD or button prompts / objective markers etc. It's also proof that the only reason HUDs are forced in most first-person shooter games is because your average gamer simply can't be bothered to learn what buttons do what. Sanches
The only thing i regret about playing Exodus is that i lowered music too much. I barely heard it during the gameplay, maybe it was so fitting i couldn't realise it was the actual music playing, but when i listened to it via files, i had a feeling im listening to it for the first time. And i still remember and love 2033 and LL OST.
OurJud
Warning, possible spoilers ahead! Need help. ETA: Never mind. I didn't spot the Gatling gun on the wall. I'm in a room with a locked door and no other exits (apart from where the enemy are coming from). When the level starts you hear the woman with the hood (Guil) who you rescued from the tower getting shot, then an armoured thug with a Gatling gun comes in through the double doors. I'm on hardcore and have very limited ammo and no medkit. My guns won't penetrate the heavy and I have regulars coming in from both wings of the room. Am I missing something or do I just have to persevere somehow and take them all out? If it's the latter then I have no hope. Misumi
Anyone know a fix for the game freezing on startup? I just got this from the Windows Xbox (beta) app, and the game won't even launch. Misumi
This Xbox beta app for Windows is proving to be completely useless. Edit: So far, this game is complete garbage. No windowed/borderless mode. Alt-tabbing out crashes the game. Settings don't save at all. I can't even get past the opening cutscene. What a mess. Craigsters
I think I finished my training or first chapter, couldn't save until I got my first achievement, I started the reader difficulty Important update This game is pron to corrupt your saved game, all the trouble shooting sites mention to turn off overlay in steam and in Nvidia experience and to run the game as admin, that helped and another sites said to find your current game saved folder and copy it elsewhere if your saved game wont load and then start a new game, save and exit and delete the new saved game and then copy in your copy moved elsewhere saves back in and leave out any quick saves, you should be able to play your game again!.. DODI3OG
I wanted to buy the Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light back in 2013 even before I got into console gaming. I haven't got the chance to play them when they came out since I didn't have the money and time to play them in college. I finally got the series almost a month ago when the Redux games and Exodus went on sale for $15. It was basically a steal for all three games plus their DLCs. The survival mechanics are excellently implemented, however all three games are buggy and poorly-made, and I'd even say...overrated. All three games have awful controls for a supposedly AAA title. It wasn't apparent just watching gameplays from youtube, but the controls are really awful and floaty in every way. These games also have awful and cheap sound effects and sound design that eventually begin to sound irritating since they have at most two alternating sound effects for footsteps which sounds weeeird and cheap. Gun sounds on the first two games sound like SHIIIT. But, they were okay on Metro Exodus. I don't know why they didn't remove those unsynced squeaky footsteps. The sound design looks like it was just slapped in for the sake of having sounds. No matter what 3D audio engine/technology you're using, the surround sound just isn't quite right. Dialogues are too loud even at a few notches. The devs tried so hard to tell a good story and character building that most of the dialogue lines were just fillers and really added nothing. As a result, it made me want to shoot someone for taking too much time to talk. This is very apparent in Metro Exodus. It was awesome the first couple of hours. But, a lot of times dialogues add nothing to player-NPC relations. The combat is really immersion-breaking and stealth is always the better option most of the time. I used throwing knives half the time in Metro 2033 since they're one-shot kill weapons and the guns, even with military-grade ammo doesn't kill in one shot unless you're really accurate. As for Last Light, I didn't even bother finishing it. Too much filler levels and it was just as repetitive as Metro 2033. Going back to the combat, I hate the fact that enemies are bullet spongey. Sure, I can land headshots, but who would bother headshoting every thug in the vicinity while they're shooting at you? Seriously? I just shot someone with 5 AK bullets and they seemed to not care at all. As for the resources, they shouldn't have tied the amount of resources with the difficulty or made a separate setting for it. This is what I think should be the case in Metro 2033 in particular. Apparently, resources aren't even that scarce 'cause why they hell are these bandits spraying bullets during combat? Also, these bandits hoard and make their own stuff, so why the hell should there be fewer supplies for the player? Kinda annoying seeing a group of bandits endlessly suppress me with full-auto weapons only to find out that they barely have anything when I loot their carcasses. Some of these complaints of mine are also applicable in every other game, regardless of the genre, but the Metro series really plays like a cheap game.
