mathijs619
Hello everyone, So today i found a nice car pack with around 400 cars, but it's only for an older version of the game and i really want it. I managed to download the right patch for that mod, but now everytime i start GTA V Rockstar Social club pops up, and ask for my CD-key. This is not the biggest problem, since i have the steam version of the game, so i looked it up pretty easy. After i entered my cd-key it says something like ''activation key already in use'' i know it is because i ''downgraded'' the game to an older version. (Don't know why it should be a problem to downgrade to an older patch). So i just wanna know if there is a way to just play gta v (i'll just wanna play story mode for the mods, and i'm not interested in online) Maybe i can reset the key and activate the game for this patch or something? Also, i hear people say that the older patches have much better performance. If anyone could help me with this, i'll be so happy (getting real tired of this sh*t) Thanks gagdaddykix 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/873098-downgrading-gta-v-steam-version-for-incompatible-mods-cd-key-proble/ Share on other sites
_CP_
You have to use only Steam EXEs to work on your copy, you can't use retail ones. gagdaddykix 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/873098-downgrading-gta-v-steam-version-for-incompatible-mods-cd-key-proble/#findComment-1069200308 Share on other sites

_CP_
That's what I said, you have to use Steam EXEs for Steam version, otherwise game asks you about key. _CP_
If you have a friend playing retail/Warehouse version of V, you cannot use his files to downgrade the game. I'm not using a friends files or something like that, just downloaded the original patch, only had to replace some files, but those are still original. Why can't rockstar just let people choose on wich patch they want to play the game Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/873098-downgrading-gta-v-steam-version-for-incompatible-mods-cd-key-proble/#findComment-1069202265 Share on other sites
_CP_
All patches using installator are from Social Club version, so they won't work. Give me a number of patch, so I'll prepare it for you.
