Don't get why people are so upset over just one bike. We already have a ton of normal vehicles in the game. It's not like this means they'll go full Saints Row from now on. If you don't like it then don't buy it. They can't cater to you with everything they release.

You sound like a cliched composite of other people. How do you know that it won't lead to more of a Saints Row approach, if the Shotaro is a roaring success for them? How do you know that?

I think it's a little paranoid to assume they would. Sure I wouldn't be surprised if they do release a few other over the top vehicles in the future and I think that's fine, but I doubt they'll go too crazy with the game because it really would just upset a lot of fans and people still enjoy the usual GTA type stuff. Besides we don't know if they'll even continue to add content to this game for that long anymore anyway.

I'm not talking about this game though. I don't mind the Shotaro in this game and if they want to add a bit more wacky stuff to it just for fun, if it ended there then that's ok by me. The problem for me is that this isn't the last game in the series and whatever proves popular now will prove popular in the future.

 

If there was a UFO available to buy, as a homage to some film, a sh*t load of people would buy it and enjoy it. That's great but is it GTA? No it isn't and that's not a big leap from the Tron bike.

It would deviate too far from what adult long time fans of the series like for sure but is that the main player base these days? I don't think it is. I think that this game is to an extent an experiment to see what we'll swallow in the future, price and content wise and we're currently gobbling up overpriced novelty bikes, one of which doesn't exist and is taken from a film.

 

Not the most promising signs to me.

Single play is a different animal and as you say some of the wackiness was nothing more than a drugs trip.

 

I've got no problem with trippy weirdness in single player as long as it's rare, it's part of the series to an extent. Aliens in online? No thanks.

Deadline wouldn't be awful if Rockstar actually fixed glaring bugs prior to launching it. Not once have I survived running into a tail yet the game think it's okay for others to survive when I apply the speed boost when crossing someone's path miliseconds in front of them - multiple times.

Pretty much much. It's an amazing game mode.

People like to complain about GTA Online, but I think GTA Online is great.

 

Every time I start playing the game less and less, an update like Deadline comes and I start playing the game again.

 

I was getting bored, and then Heists came.

I was getting bored, and then Finance and Felony came.

I was getting bored, and then Stunt races came.

I was getting bored again, and now Deadline has come.

 

People seem to focus on how expensive vehicles are for the free mode, but who cares? I don't play this game so I can aimlessly fly around a 10mil dollar gold jet, I play GTA Online to play new game modes like Deadline which are absolutely free to me... and ironically I only played Deadline for like 1-2 hours and I got over 300k.

Even in a hardcore flight sim if you crash the plane you can have another go. What you are talking about has nothing whatsoever with what I'm saying.

 

I'm obviously not saying that every game mechanic should adhere to real life. It's the content of the game that I'm talking about.

 

 

Then forget about the insta-spawning. JUST HAVING AN ATTACK HELICOPTER IN LOS SANTOS! lol Imma go vault over the fence at Ft. Zancudo and STEAL A FIGHTER JET AND GET AWAY WITH IT. Just evade the radar for a few minutes and THEY STOP LOOKING FOR YOU! Lol so realistic.

 

Bring on the Tron bikes. Need some Mad Max up in here as well.

4 rounds of deadline was enough, Most likely never play it again. .Bike was okay and fun for about 5 minutes. Ill most likely sell it tomorrow. Shame I haven't enjoyed this as much as everyone else has.

It's fun to drive when it's dark out. When the bike shines most imo. I still like my Hakuchou more, ended up selling mine too. It's really only a few seconds faster than the drag, that's about it.

As for Deadline? Like Lost vs Damned it asks for people to use their brain instead of rushing in like hot-headed muppets, it's clearly 'caught on'. Makes for easy wins as most people seem to be blind. It also asks for further suspension of disbelief and if this leads to a more Saints Row-esque GTA in future, expect trouble.

A little perspective, having owned the Shotaro for a few days now....

If a UFO was available to buy that would be amazing. Why? Because wayyyyy back before GTA 3, there was a game called Body Harvest made by a company called DMA. This company later eventually somehow made GTA 3 and changed everything. Body Harvest had you as a time traveling space marine who can steal any vehicle and use any weapons.

 

One level had you break into Area 51 and steal a UFO! There was an homage to the game in GTA SA as well involving a mission that revolves around stealing a combine harvester

The Shotaro is nice, but I prefer more grounded and realistic vehicles, this is why I still don't own the X80 Proto and not too fond about having the Shotaro in the first place.

 

I might sell it once the Esskey drops and rearrange my garage.

Every DLC they add is so overpriced for whatever it is they add for "Free". None of my friend, absolutely zero, have anywhere close to enough money to buy anything when new DLC hits and grinding takes a decade and a half.

 

I know they are trying to get people to buy shark cards, but i can't even play 80% of the online mode anymore because people that cheat have everything the first day and you can't compete with them after that.

 

It's really not incentive to play and achieve, it's more incentive to throw the game in the trash. Sometimes i think the government created this game because it caters to cheaters and people who break the rules every step of the way.

I just bought the Shotaro. I mainly just wanted it, because it slightly resembles Kaneda's bike from Akira(mostly just the wheels really). When I tried to paint it fully red I realized the neon lights kinda just ruin the look I wanted, but I don't think I necessarily regret the purchase. It's actually a really fun bike to drive. It just gets past corners super fast and feels a lot smoother than the other bikes. I also like the fact that you don't need to wheelie with it to get max speed(according to Broughy you can just lean forward).

Ok, it's too much fantasy and childish, but unlike many adversary modes, this one is really fun. You're alone, all against all, easy to understand, very balanced (since everyone have the same equipment), and pretty competitive. I really like this one.
