Bought everything?

I have a check-list in my head of things which i want to buy. The journey to have these things ticked off of my list is my reward for playing the game. I'd never had that sense of accomplishment if i'd just bought my yacht from sharkcard-money.

I haven't even purchased everything and probably wouldn't if it required for 100% Completion. Why? Because I'm really picky about what I buy. Buying everything is boring AF. Also does even GTA:O have a 100% completion? Lol no. It's never supposed to be end. I don't see how it gets dead for someone if Hidden Package, Stunts and Missions aren't the only thing you should be doing.

I haven't bought all vehicles because I'm picky and I regret buying the f*cking yacht. I want to buy a bullet because I love the handling, smooth asf but who the f*ck drives a bullet in 2016 LS besides NPCs? -_-

so your only goal in this game was to waste time making money so you could buy everything you could purchase? If so, that's quite ironic since you could have saved time and money by simply not buying anything, like the game itself.

Love this post. I don't understand why people spend their entire time playing gtao doing things like glitches, farming boring ass missions over and over and over, looking for dupes, etc. I understand the point of the gtao is to get money but of course it won't be fun.... Not saying you did this OP but it spent way too much just trying to collect everything and forgot about the fun of the game along the way.

That's the kind of thing that keeps me hooked. I want some random car, just because? Where do I keep it? What color combo do I make it? High end wheels just for looks? Should I blow the money on chrome wheels? Should I join a racing crew or something to unlock chrome paint? This game has sooooo many strategy decisions to make over every little thing.

And personally I have a love/hate relationship with my yacht. My yacht is useless. My yacht is beautiful. My yacht cost way too much money. My yacht has a sweet helicopter that I love to fly just for the sake of flying. etc etc.

Now it's time to get online and work on "gitting gud" doing mc/vip business to pay for all that stuff I spent money on. I just friggen barely learned how to combat roll. Seriously THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO AND LEARN IN THIS GAME omg I love it (day 2 of my vacation and I need a better computer chair. Getting pressure sores on my butt. THIS GAME :D )

Personally my checklist in my head is more about being competitive with the best players. Which probably is never going to happen but I'm having so much fun trying. IRL I actually got a major promotion this year, shark cards aren't really a problem for me (I'm not rich but I could afford to buy a new game every month if I want to. I'd rather buy a shark card right now than any new game). I just want to not be the player with the lowest score in every adversary match I join.

I play for the gameplay, not the sh*t I can buy. No its not dead.

So if GTA:O had a percentage completion stat it would be based on purchased content?

Wow, I remember GTA's completion stat being filled by missions, stunt jumps and hidden packages.

This.

I really don't understand the correlation between having alot of cash and the game being boring. Money is simply a means to an end. The means by which you acquire that special bike or sports car you wanted, the personal fighter jet, the clubhouse, ammo for your gun battles, businesses, etc. But once you have these things, you can use them! You now have the tools to play however you wanted... for the foreseeable future!

What's the point of having these things if you're not going to race them, fly them, show them off, engage in a battle, whatever. There's multiple ways to play this game and multiple things to buy, but I dont think having money and doing nothing (quitting) was part of the plan. The idea was to find enjoyment from using them.

Then there's the other argument about grinding. "I have no reason to grind and therefore no reason to play" as if the only purpose to playing GTA is to make money. What about racing for the fun of racing? What about playing that Heist, that Contact Mission, CEO job or MC delivery for the excitement of completing the objective? One could enjoy a Death Match or an Adversary Mode not for the money or the RP, but legitimately because they found it to be a competitive, good time. The point of a video game is to have fun, not be your virtual job.

Rockstar's business model is selling sharkcards so therefore high prices and the pursuit of wealth propels players towards this end. But I wonder if it's such an overriding factor that people think that grinding for cash (in and of itself) is actually the purpose of the game.

There's certainly merit in working to afford the things you want. There's a million threads underlining this. But the idea is that you worked so hard for these things to enjoy them. Not for them to "collect dust".

If anything, having a lot of money takes the blinders off you. You can see the game for what it is. Maybe you played this game out (it has been 3+ years), maybe you find the community too toxic, don't have the patience for randoms, found too many bugs/imbalances or simply don't find GTA fun any more. All of that is perfectly fine. But that's a problem with the game itself and that'll be a factor no matter how much you have in your bank account.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Lol I only played this game to buy sh*t in the beginning. I've got all I want atm except for a Windsor hardtop. I just got my Stirling GT. I mean I got the cars I want, picky af so not a huge selection, the apartments and houses I want, my Lombank Tower, my warehouses, my clubhouse, my guns, my clothes and a decent net worth. I just play just to play. It took a lot to get this sh*t and I did heist glitches towards the end but I'm happy now. All I do is free roam. It's chillax. Waiting for the next update knowing I can afford it without having to grind my ass of again.

Why would anyone in their right mind buy the two flying golden dildos? No matter how much money you've got?

I will not buy those vehicles out of principle - a 10 M golden jet that has no advantage over it's original Luxor counterpart, other than gold paint and passenger drinking/Internet access. For that sort of price it should have missile jammers, the ability to withstand at least 4 or 5 rockets, and other features like cloaking, etc...

Anyone who pays that much money just to be a completionist needs to have their head checked.

It's not any different buying everything GTA is dead for me. Anyone else...

If you hadn't modded/glitched all your money in you'd have some satisfaction from working towards things you want; this would also give you more incentive to use and appreciate the thing you earned. Typical rich kid having all the toys at once, and then breaking and throwing them away because they're "bored". Having said that, I'm glad I don't have to grind crates anymore...but everything I really wanted in this game I worked for, and got a lot of enjoyment out of because of it.I get more enjoyment out of spending glitched money than spending hour upon hour grinding the same sh*t just to buy something. I work in my real life I don't need something I do in my free time to feel like work too. Another thing is I don't need to feel any satisfaction from accomplishing something in a video game because I accomplish enough already and honestly if you need a video game to get the satisfaction of accomplishment then your priorities are way out of order and you should probably but the controller down and go outside.

You need to find a balance.

If all you do is play to glitch to buy, then you haven't found the right balance, just like people who play to grind to buy.

Last night I tweaked my garages on both characters, bought myself a Bravado Youga in preparation for its imminent custom release (it's GREAT BTW) and only ground a few freemode events. Sometimes you've got to put the money-making aspect to one side.

Just about. Still enjoy the game though, even just driving or flying around the map.

Lately I've been helping noobs out with their heists for a 5% cut just to pay it forward.

If your goal is to buy "everything" then of course your experience once you feel that you have. Most peoples' goal in playing a game is to have fun. And seeing how Rockstar is still making a ton of money from people buying Shark Cards from the game still being one of the top selling games month after month over 3 years after it initially releases says something about how much fun people are having.

They should bring those back for GTA V's multiplayer. Lock some cool vehicles behind them (just like the old days - 80 for one vehicle, 90 for another, etc.).

Tip/Hint:

If you have bought everything available in GTA Online (unless you're a millionaire > in real life and funded via shark cards), you're not legit; so no reason to feel pity for you.

Who gives a sh*t if only NPC's drive it?

Exactly. The only person who cares what car you drive is you. 99% of the people you pass online you'll never see again and are too focused on themselves to give two sh*ts about what car it was that you blurred by them in.

...Unless you're Giantsgiants, then most people will probably just log off and consider moving to the Himalayas to become a monk.

Dude, I feel the same way.

My Bullet and 9F just sit in my garage because I look poor as f*ck if I drive them.
