Vice City: BETA Edition

Question is, if it was featured in an official beta build of the game, would you aim for accuracy or go by the "naaahhh it's just a leftover f*ck everything related to it" logic?

For example if you want VC to look like BETA then you gotta stick with what was OFFICIALY shown in the SCREENSHOTS and other official sources...otherwise it will not be a 100 % replica of the BETA at all.

as far as I remember there is no civilian use Patriot on the street, CMIIW Patriot only parked on Phil Place and Fort Baxter

You know...

this mod doesn't really have to be a REAL BUILD OF GTA: VICE CITY 2001 etc. ...

it just needs to have removed stuff and... changed a bit stuff (like peds, buildings, car designs like white police car etc.) and whatever.

The police car was made almost a decade ago, without as much of an eye for detail as he has now, the Infernus had a complete overhaul done recently when he went back and looked over references.

How about as an optional? Still looks good though. I'm not talking about the exaggerated/bright lights just the texture or model could be edited.

Been playing this great BETA mod about an hour but something minor bugging me and I can't fix it, the traffic light post seems not having a texture, can someone assist me to fix this problem?

I'm not sure I'll bother adding the rendered versions of the Malibu & Gonzalez's rooftop to the mod.

 

For now, only the versions seen in actual pre-release screens have been put in.

As the others have said, it was like that in pre-release screenshots. However, if you don't like it - just remove mitraffic.txd from the mod. :) Edited by Kalvin

Anyway, did there is a way to combine VCLF to this mod?? the VCFL seems have a problem with this mod like the Wildstyle icon, and so on....

You already add Gonzalez's rooftop. So will you gonna break do the Malibu neons, right? The exterior had no Malibu sign. Sorry for double posting. After minutes of playing, VC crashes with unhandled exception popping up.

 

its because SCM, replace SCM with original one and game will never crash

This is totally false, it certainly did have the Malibu neon sign. It's just that all the other neons are rendered so hard around it that you can't see it as well. Lookie here:

There's some unused audio lines that should be added on the next version(?) like on the mission "The Chase" and "Phnom Penh '86" there is an old guy voice who greet Tommy when we trigger the mission (like the one on niltwill UpdatedSCM if I remember correctly).

My guess is that there was a guard at the main gates of Star Island, whether or not it was planned that he'd open the gate for you or he was just there before/after the gates are closed then opened late I have no idea.
