I haven't purchased a Shark Card, but I would definitely buy SP DLC. By not releasing DLC, Rockstar has lost out on receiving additional money from me. I'm curious about what others would buy.

Why I am getting the impression that you not interested in understanding the cause, but only to complicate the issue of SP DLC further in making such polls to push your agenda that really isn't all about the DLC itself, but more about bashing Shark cards/Online, and speak a few words in praising GTA IV for not abandoning the single players, although people often forget that it did abandon a lot of other things compared to prev. GTA's that even the SP DLC's failed to address.

Take a look @ TLAD 100%, and what did it bring to the game in differentiating itself over GTA IV to make it worth picking up?

TLAD/TBOGT are just rehashing the same thing in a different skin.

We had flying rats in IV, we got even more of the stupid stuff in the form of seagulls. Vigilante got replaced with Gang wars, which isn't different and doesn't offer much depth than more reasons to shoot just like vigilante.

Biker races instead of car races. Angus' bike thefts are also the same as Exotic Exports and Stevie's Car Thefts, instead of cars you steal bikes. Few more random characters, couple of minigames, additional phone calls to hang out, and errand jobs.

The only thing new and interesting was the story in the DLC but again the same mission structure getting repeated with the benefit of checkpoints. Nothing else.

The point is, the main selling point of EFLC were the new characters/narrative taking place in LC, the rest was just more of the same.

I understand the anger for missing out on many things that require single players to connect to the internet for making the most out of the game, but you need to understand that there's no guarantee the players will be satisfied with what the developers provide through the 'paid DLC' if they simply add more of the same over and above what we already experienced in the game, and given the nature of Online and increasing number of people interested in the multiplayer mode, people are still going to switch to the multiplayer because there's no way the DLC will meet their expectations, if the three protagonists', their story, the map, and anything about the game failed to convince or appeal to you in the first place.

That's the biggest limitation of SP DLC.

The more people realize and understand this simple reality, easier it'll be for them to deal with the current situation, which a certain section of crowd are trying to often mislead other single players for their own personal motive in defending GTA IV/EFLC while still enjoying GTA V for its Online mode, and are least bothered about GTA V SP because their heart lies with GTA IV only, and I'm saying this based on the experiences from reading their constant criticisms for V and other games like GTA SA which still failed to satisfy them despite rich in content.

There are genuine single players who wanted more for extending their stay ( or return ) in GTA V because of so much potential hidden in the game, and my sympathies are always with them. I understand how they must be feeling in missing out on SP DLC.

But like I explained above, the single, biggest limitation of SP DLC is that the developers will need to provide a lot of interesting things to make it appealing for the players to buy, which not only involves additional costs but also a lot of development time, and again, there's no guarantee that the content will meet your expectations be the new characters, new adventures, and the side activities, etc, thus the DLC will risk either positive or negative fan reactions hurting the sales further, compared to Online mode which offers a lot of freedom and content to choose how you want to play and what you want to engage with, at no extra price in return.

Plus, it brings obviously more revenue so that's another big advantage over SP DLC.

Look, GTA V as a vanilla game definitely offers more than vanilla GTA IV, whether you liked it or not.

But GTA IV did not offer more rather significantly reduced and dropped the content over GTA SA in the excuse of Quality > Quantity, even though the "quality" was still heavily criticised while there was absolutely nothing interesting nor new in terms of "quantity" that we never experienced in prev. games. A lot of the "quantity" was utterly forgettable, and the game was in desperate need for SP DLC.

Its here that I feel GTA V is rife with opportunities, if you are only interested in squeezing more fun out of the game. GTA V offers more bang for your buck over GTA IV

- Fantastic PC version. The modding community has to offer far better and interesting mods than those available for IV. The mods actually hurt IVs performance even more because its difficult to run many mods due to poor port.

- Bigger and diverse open world to explore than GTA IV.

- Better visuals and host of other improvements over IV

- Online mode. The performance complaints are very subjective and vary from player to player. You can still get the same IV/RDR's standard multiplayer experience by engaging the same way you have put hours in the multiplayer experiences in the past, i.e., freeroaming without any side objectives or missions, and Online offers the same kind of multiplayer experience, but with more variety and content as an added advantage. If you are not interested in multiplayer to make up for the things missing out in SP then the best option is the Directors Mode / Rockstar Editor as optional gameplay mode ( underrated in my opinion ), which can be a lot of fun as well.

In the end, lets not neglect other alternatives and simply limit to one SP DLC which isn't guaranteed to meet your expectations' as a whole.

Lock n' Stock

I did buy Shark Cards at some point, heavily regret it though. That was during a time where I'd burn money away on useless sh*t. That said, I probably would buy SP DLC, if it ever shows up of course which is highly unlikely at this point.

Xiled, can't you just make the in-game money there to buy the car instead of shark cards or has R locked it so only real money can buy it? I don't know since i'm sp fan but out of curiosity want to know.

Its to prove a point. You can earn it or buy it. The singleplayer dlc's you bought once and you just get to use them anytime. gta online feels alienated from all other gta games. All the other games are open world sandbox games. Gta online is trying to be an mmo and "free to play" game.

Better to pay $20 and get a dozen vehlces and weapons included in it rather than either earn it for a long time or buy it for 4 or 5 times the price.

Dangerous and sad

Me? Spend money on a shark chard? :D not a chance. All down for a SP DLC of course since it would actually be worth the money and basically be a new game for me.

There's so many ways around a dark card without cheating it's rediculous. Besides you don't have to have thae latest hot new sports car immediately it will alwYs be there in most cases ad it's not a real car. More than a year later a d the t20 and Osiris is still available to buy. The whole keeping up with tje Jones mentality in online mode is rediculous. You don't have to have every ThIng rockstar puts out. at the moment and if you're patient enough there are sales and discounts on cars and military vehicles. Then there's all the double cash and rp weekends to take advantage of they even had double cash and rp heist. It's not the grindfest that you make it to be. You can put the game down play other games and online will still be there for you to play. Shark cards are a hustle to take advantage of greedy weak minded gamers

The Shark Cards have complicated things further. I would hate buying SP or stuff with those. I never bought one either. I think EFLC was the best SP add-on. For $40 you could get 2 other storylines easily. I think a lot of people would care about tons of cars if a SP DLC were to be released. They would care more about missions and events happening in the same city. It's also worthless to expect a lot of map changes with DLCs.

Millions of people would buy SP DLC, but it would cost a lot to develop. R* isn't missing out on some golden opportunity. That's what the episodes were for GTA IV. Microsoft paid $50 million upfront for them and R* got to sell them to Xbox 360 owners and eventually PS3 and PC. I think people forget about that.

It sucks, but R* realized the business of GTAO is far more profitable than selling story DLC. I'll still buy the next GTA, but now I don't look at that series like I did before V. It's more about business now. I'm more interested in Red Dead and other big story-driven, open world games coming from other devs. GTA's current fanbase is a lot of people who don't even really care about what some of us thought was the best part. A lot of people either don't play the story or don't finish it.

Maybe MS or Sony will pay for some exclusive story DLC for the next GTA. R* is all business now, so I just don't see them doing it for artistic reasons or fan service. If that was the case, we would have story DLC for V, or at least we would see the online stuff given to SP players as well.

WOW, it has definitely been a disappointment in the area of Single player. At first it was a great thing adding new content, but now the "shark card"? What happened to the days of a DLC for everyone? I mean the roots of Rockstar has really disintegrated, the story mode is what created the online franchise. Im really interested in knowing how Red Dead 2 will play out or future GTA Titles?
