Buzzard for all-purpose air vehicle.

Also, take part in the Freemode events using aircraft like Upside-Down challenge, Fly Under Bridges and Low Flying challenge. My flying abilities improved so much quickler after playing a few of these :)

Used to play gta iv with "gettodachopper" cool guy, he hasn't logged on in years though.

BUZZARD of course, with CEO u can spawn it next to you everywhere, anytime. u can destroy it and get another (2min later). the others need to be picked up.

Buzzard: fast, agile and not as easy to destroy as the savage.

Hydra: combines both worlds but its not the best jet and not the best helicopter.

Savage: is slower, not as agile , feels like paper.

^You'll regret saying that when I eventually get gud with the Hydra.

Just some friendly tips that helped me get better.
I know, I wouldn't kill you anyway. ;)

Listen to trolls.

If you're a sh*t pilot and have no ground game, get a hydra.

It's the tell all for "I ain't got nothin else but spam".

Even a retarded chimp could maintain a 1.0 k/d with that piece of sh*t.

Just be prepared to have people like me snipe you out of the cockpit on principle or sticky your ass out of the sky on a bike to prove a point to the other no skill scrubs.

Best advice: Learn to fly or f*ck off with aircraft. My kind take great pleasure in griefing hydra scrubs from a session.

Sincerely,

Someone who drops hydras with a 9mm pistol [i do it for teh lulz]

LOLol listen to this troll. You couldn't drop me on my Faggio Mod with a 9mm much less a Hydra or a Buzzard. #obvioustrollisobvious

Buzzard Hydra or Savage?

I'm among the worst pilots. I crash every Hydra or Lazer I try to fly, the Savage just swings all over the place, so for me, the Buzzard is my go-to air vehicle, even if it's just for quick travel across the map.

I used my hydra a hell of alot for the ceo work and became pretty good in one, it was a big weak point of mine before there is still room for improvement but that will come naturally in time

I'm starting to use my Hydra more for that stuff (I just do Headhunter and Sightseer, and Trash Talk sometimes for variety), just because it's starting to get boring in a Buzzard. I'm definitely getting better at landing without overshooting my planned landing spot by a mile.

I've never griefed any players with it but it's funny how players leave the area when I'm just commuting from place to place. In a Buzzard players all come gunning for me with their HLs.

If you're a trash pilot get a buzzard. If you want a real challenge get a hydra. The savage is kinda useless. Its good for some missions like CCO or LSC.

I use the Hydra for ceo, you pretty much have to for the big cash. It's a great way to learn to fly and especially land one quickly. You can land a Hydra from 1000 feet MUCH more quickly than a buzzard and millimetre perfect.

If all the voices in favor of the Buzzard weren't enough...until something better comes along, it's the best all-round chopper in GTA Online (as usual, send all flames to >NIL: lol).

All I can say is that while you may start out crashing into everything, be patient with yourself; do air races, the Low Flying Challenge (very helpful), Sightseer (best training for landings there is), and in time you'll find yourself doing maneuvers you wouldn't previously have thought possible.

You can land a Hydra from 1000 feet MUCH more quickly than a buzzard and millimetre perfect.

IME, I find the opposite to be true; I can "dive-bomb" drop (circular spin down) a Buzzard from thousands of feet and still land on a dime--not so with the Hydra....BUT I haven't used the Hydra even a fraction of the time I've used the Buzzard, so there's that. :) Practice makes perfect for whatever vehicle you use.

Who's got time for hiest glitching when you can do 100mil a day in lowriders.. Going to do it, do it right. Then you can speed CEO for the challenge.

Practice, Practice, Practice.

Just keep trying to use the jet and eventually you'll master it. It took me weeks of trying and failing on LG to be able to nail the cowards in the sky but now on NG, I'm a god in the sky and can bring down any jet.... that isn't using lag as an advantage anyways. It's basically important to master it to fight against the jet cowards

This is why I started jetting. I'd like to know who patient zero was, the first guy to git gud in a jet and grief with it. He started some sh*t. I'm glad I got into it. The flying in GTA is beautiful and exhilarating.

BTW, the hydra has five wheels, in case anybody caught that earlier in the thread.

(For PVP?) In that case, if you suck, the buzzard will be the WORST decision. You'll get blown out of the sky every time you take off (Again, thats if you're using it for pvp). I don't know what these gents are talking about lol. IMHO The Buzzard is way harder to be good in than the jets. Get the Hydra, you'll be destroying entire city blocks with its OP cannons in no time. With the jet you wont have to worry about the homolauncher either. Anybody can be good in the Jets in a week or so. Helos you have to not only worry about auto aim noobs, but homolaucher noobs as well. Then you gotta learn to counter jets which definitely takes some serious helo skills. Trust me, leave the whirlybirds to the big boys.

If this is for mission purposes, then of course, go with the helo.

If we're talking for missins, jobs, etc, then the Buzzard by far. It's an absolute breeze to fly, and only gets easier. Its size and maneuverability are suberb.

Flying the Savage after being in a Buzzard is like switching from a decent sports car to a bus, albeit a bus with fantastic fire rate.

The Hydra requires a lot more skill than a Buzzard but it certainly has its uses, although I mainly use it as a means to get from point A to B as fast as possible.

If it's for PvP, just jump in a jet like everyone else.

If you've not much confidence in your piloting skills, maybe stick clear of the Savage for the moment until you are more confident. As others will note, the Savage is the biggest and clunkiest of the bunch, and likes to flip over and explode if you clip into things ith the torots - the Buzzard has a lot more leniency, plus its smaller and easier to fly.

Buzzard and the cheapest office. Then you can CEO your way to fame and fortune.

This^. Buy the buzzard and the cheapest office.

Then, call your Pegasus Buzzard and use that instead of the CEO buzzard. That way if you crash you can spawn the CEO Buzzard with no cooldown and be back in the air in no time.
How terrible a pilot must someone be if that they're so frequently incapable of flying for more than 3 minutes without crashing that they consider that suggestion as a viable option?

The tip comes strictly from a convenience stand point, it has nothing to do with if you need it every 3 minutes but when you are going to need it.

You crash your CEO Buzzard = cooldown

You crash Pegasus Buzzard = no cooldown

Not only that it might save your life or your mission avoiding the cooldown, not only that, with this information one now knows they can have 2 buzzards on the map at the same time or any other Buzzard/Pegasus mix.

/\ This is also a good reason for buying the Buzzard first. Simply put, time is money in this game, so being able to call a free helicopter nearly anywhere is incredibly useful just for getting around more quickly in general, particularly when playing alone. It cuts tons of time off things like crates, CEO/VIP work, and just getting from A to B for anything really because you know you can just recall it anytime.

And no matter how good someone is, inevitably we all will goof up at some point or otherwise get killed because of something else, so when it does happen having that Buzzard available will be worth it.

Also, you can give the CEO Buzzard to other people in your organization who need a lift - even if they don't own it, once the CEO Buzzard is on the map, anyone can call it to their location. It's also worth noting that you can also call it for free even if you own the Buzzard but the CEO doesn't, thus letting everyone else also access it, which of course will make you popular with people who don't own a Buzzard yet.

I'm a sort of terrible pilot. Buzzard is easier to fly than Hydra, being slower yet versatile. On the other hans, Hydra spawns at more places with better weapons. But its bad with crashes and I could never land one properly.

If you are naturally an awful, clumsy Pilot when flying in GTA Sessions, I definitely recommend you familiarize yourself first with learning to properly fly a Buzzard, long before worrying about trying to learn to properly fly a Hydra or Savage. IME, when I was brand new to GTA 5 Online (over 2.5 years ago), I found the Buzzard helicopter was a much easier aircraft to learn to master flying, than anything else. I got in the habit of flying in Buzzards so often, when grinding Contact Missions (like Los Santos Connection), that, I gradually from all that practice got surprisingly good at flying a Buzzard in most GTA situations. Aside, from I hate dealing with getting Locked onto a lot by Homing Launcher Whores or chased & attacked by Jet Griefers...but, that's a whole 'nother GTA story...lol. A Buzzard will also make it soo much faster, easier, more efficient & cheaper to not just get through high-paying Contact Missions, but VIP Work/Challenges, CEO Crate Buying & Selling, & to help with the new MC missions (MC Contracts, MC Businesses, etc) in Freemode. Viva La Buzzard! A Helicopter that has so served me well in my almost 3 years of GTA 5 Online & made me soo many Millions over time. IMHO, Buzzard is def. the most well-rounded, balanced, useful Attack Helicopter in the game. But, that's just my style. Lot of my friends prefer to fly in Hydras, Savages or Lazers.

Well dude, my only answer to your question is...get all three. Seriously, it amazes me how many players drop 8+ figures on cars without ever acquiring one of these awesome vehicles.

That said...get the Buzzard first. Not only the cheapest, but most versatile as well. If your problem is lack of skill at flying them, youll be amazed how much flying them all the time improves your skill.
