What's better if you are an awful pilot like me

If you're a CEO: Buzzard

Otherwise (or if you can only afford one): Hydra, because it has the better weapons and is the fastest airplane, yet will spawn at helipads.

buzzard, since it goes slower then the hydra and is still more agile....but really, if you plan to get youre piloting skills up the hydra has the most potential of all of them

Buzzard is the most versitile out of them all.

Really depends what you're going to do with it. PvP or missions and stuff?

If it's for killing AI guys, then a helicopter's easier for that.

PvP? Then it has to be a jet I think.

That's not to say it's a walk in the park getting the hang of it by any means, but I found helicopters harder.

Yeah, if you're a CEO you can spawn the buzzard for free from the CEO Vehicles menu.

I'm just waiting for the Hydra's price to drop and get it for my other character.

The buzzard by far will be the easiest to pilot, the hydra and savage kinda have a steep learning curve. Plus if your a ceo you can spawn one practically right beside you.

ifeelu OP. I'm a terrible pilot but I prefer the buzzard. I can't land a Hydra to save my f*ckin' life.

Buzzard and the cheapest office. Then you can CEO your way to fame and fortune.

This^. Buy the buzzard and the cheapest office.

Then, call your Pegasus Buzzard and use that instead of the CEO buzzard. That way if you crash you can spawn the CEO Buzzard with no cooldown and be back in the air in no time.

Down the road I strongly recommend the Hydra over the Savage (personally anyway). Players might not be great at flying, it may seem difficult at first but practice makes.. you better. I recommend the contact mission Artificial Scarcity for practice, lots of targets, some moving some not. There are other contact missions good for practice that I used like mixed up with coke among others but I found Artificial Scarcity to work the best for me.

So..

Buzzard

Office

Hydra

Then..

Git

Gud

Well, I'm definitely not a good pilot, and I would say the Buzzard is the best option; though the Savage is certainly a lot of fun to fly. Perhaps I'm biased since I don't like jets, but I'm terrible at flying both the Hydra and Lazer--I'll always prefer helicopters and have found them much easier as a whole to fly and land.

Good luck! :)

Listen to trolls.

If you're a sh*t pilot and have no ground game, get a hydra.

It's the tell all for "I ain't got nothin else but spam".

Even a retarded chimp could maintain a 1.0 k/d with that piece of sh*t.

Just be prepared to have people like me snipe you out of the cockpit on principle or sticky your ass out of the sky on a bike to prove a point to the other no skill scrubs.

Best advice: Learn to fly or f*ck off with aircraft. My kind take great pleasure in griefing hydra scrubs from a session.

Sincerely,

Someone who drops hydras with a 9mm pistol [i do it for teh lulz]

Hydra.. I can't fly it very well but can usually stay up in the air for an hour before someone shoots me down. I had about 10 kills the other night just messing with some biker crew once in a while that fired at me while I was cruising (all guys from this forum I believe). That included two hydras shot down they sent up to get me. Like I said I'm not good in the Hydra but it's a powerful machine. I would be shot down 10 times in the same time in a buzzard. You can dodge homers in the buzzard but it takes pretty good timing and eventually you'll mess up. Also if you just want to fly rather than kill the Besra is always great.. might still be on sale too?

And my point is reaffirmed. It's the noobcannon of GTA.

Surprised no one's mentioned Flight School. Do a bit of flight school first, it can be frustrating but you'll get to fly a few different aircraft and get used to feel of each one. Then I'd suggest going VIP in an Invite Only session and do sightseer and headhunter back to back using the Buzzard. You'll have to wait for a cooldown between jobs but you can fly around while waiting.

You'll be flying like a boss in no time as long as you have the patience : )

Flying is easy as sh*t in this game, there's no such thing as bad pilots, only people who don't want to practice the basics and sharpen their skills.

I got the hang of it by playing Trevor's gun trafficking missions and by flying Froggers everywhere before the HL was introduced, it is that simple.

No guessing what il advise 1st buuuuuuuuzzard lol the savage is the hardest to get the hang of out of the air artillery due to the bulk it carries, the hydra you will pick up quite easy once you master the swoop

One thing with the savage is insurgent drivers fear them the fire power is brutal

If you got the cash get all 3 and be very happy in life :D

How terrible a pilot must someone be if that they're so frequently incapable of flying for more than 3 minutes without crashing that they consider that suggestion as a viable option?

Buzzard for all-purpose air vehicle.

Also, take part in the Freemode events using aircraft like Upside-Down challenge, Fly Under Bridges and Low Flying challenge. My flying abilities improved so much quickler after playing a few of these :)

The tip comes strictly from a convenience stand point, it has nothing to do with if you need it every 3 minutes but when you are going to need it.

You crash your CEO Buzzard = cooldown

You crash Pegasus Buzzard = no cooldown

Not only that it might save your life or your mission avoiding the cooldown, not only that, with this information one now knows they can have 2 buzzards on the map at the same time or any other Buzzard/Pegasus mix.

Initially understanding the physics and capabilities of whatever machine you use is important for success. There will always be alternatives for different situations which will require adjusting to suit.

If you wish to remain an 'awful pilot' which is fine, then the machine with the easiest access to is the one to go for. Buzzards can be bought as stated above from Pegasus, on demand from CEO and frequently spawn at airfields, especially if you already own one. You can then carry on crashing as normal and stay in the air longer.
