Besides the fact that this project obviously won't be endorsed by Rockstar, it won't work because the absolute majority of this game's playerbase have zero knowledge about how economy and business works, thus either resulting the items to be overpriced for a quick cheating buck or underpriced to cause every item on the site to lose their true value.

EA has a true understanding of economy when it comes to buying/selling Ultimate Team cards and so does the FIFA community, the publisher sets a certain price for an item and the community hovers around that said price to keep the economy balanced, they also hold bids for actual rare items that are very hard to come across or were limited time offers, which are events that are nonexistent in this game because of Valentine and Halloween as well as Independence Day.

Sorry OP, but I'm afraid your idea will just be an idea, good on you for planning that out but it seems that this playerbase will turn it into a scam or make it worthless.

To avoid the frauds / exorbitant prices, etc... R *, if we leave the principle that the firm interresse a day in my project, will limit certainly quite a lot of things... As they always made it in GTA ONLINE Of the blow I would see good, coming from R*:

- not the choice of the title (automatic the name of the vehicle, the article, etc.)

- not the choice of the description (improvements of the vehicle, the apartment, caract of a garment)

- price to be chosen from a minimal value to a maximal value (40 % of the original price until 120 % for example)

- monstrous tax on the sale on behalf of the site and according to the value of the article (tax on the wealth, in a way)

- price to pay every day for every announcement still published on the site (the same functioning as the places of prod).

Very interesting idea. Not to mention,it could be a way to share money to friends as well.

which is why something like this would never get any traction!

good idea tho

Same IRL; the vast majority of people have no knowledge about economics and business. But that's not required in order to partake in the marketplace ("won't work") and form market prices via supply and demand. There is no "true" or objective value, it's subjective.

Fantastic idea and great thread. The unfortunate truth however is that R* will never implement anything like this, because that would be a fair and enjoyable economy, they dont want fair and fun , they want to make money, lots of money (great for them and shareholders, not so great for gamers). They simply want to make it so there is the maximum chances of people buying cash cards, if they allowed us all to buy and sell our unwanted items, cars etc that would be a great economy for us, it would dent cash card sales, no never going to happen imho. They are more likely to go for ideas like the Biker update because it instantly adding things to buy in game.

Great thread, great idea , very sad that R* arent on the same page

Although you put a lot of effort into this this is hardly the first time it has been suggested. A player marketplace will not happen because it will be easily exploited.

Good work but it's all for naught.

As others have said, a great concept (and one I like a lot to be honest, lots of effort put into this) but one that would be ripe for exploitation by a gaming community who just seem to want to get rich quickly by any means.

Basically: The average online player mentality is why we can't have nice things.

It is unfortunately that Rockstar thinks more of the money than the amusement of them players.

In theory it's a fabulous concept... you see something that you really like, but don't have enough immediate cash to buy it, so buy a shark card just to secure the deal...

But guess who else has already exploited this post on YouTube, even though it doesn't even exist yet? Yeah, you've got it... MrTosspotFTW. 30 minutes ago. The guy's a parasite, stealing people's ideas and posting them up as his own on YouTube for a quick few bucks. Eeeuuuch.

Like some other nice ideas that could make this sh*t online game much better, this is a good one as well. The whole SAMP thing was great, too bad this game was a disappointment(for me).People play the way how rockstar want them to play, this is bullsh*t.No freedom.

And I like how you put adjectives after nouns,French way :colgate:

MrBossFTW (and other "news" YT'rs) are desperate for anything new in GTA Online that they can post.

Noughtpointforlive especially...the last ~10 or so vids have been about how to do things like stopping the train, etc. lol

Honestly, it's not necessary to resort to shovelware content just so you have a "new video" posted within the last 24 hours.

Quality over quantity.

Definitely a cool idea, I think Rockstar would be on board if they made it to where you got charged everyday like $100,000. Otherwise I think they wouldn't do it.

Would be nice but modded accounts can sell stuff cheap, and buy everything

this is why something like this would never be implemented, unless they add a minimum and max, which would totally take a way the feeling of "open market".

if not we would end up with people with modded and duped cars selling them for $1 to a friend so he can then sell it to lsc for a 10000000% profit.

this transfer of wealth is something R* dont want and wont allow it.

the idea is really good and the way OP present it is awesome, but its not happening, atleast not in this version of gtao.

Craigslist already exists in GTA as 'Craplist'.

Other than that, the idea could really be a nice addition, but I'm sure Rockstar won't implement something like this.

Maybe, but Rockstar has eliminated a majority of account modded

Yes, With hindsight, my project looks like rather a simplistic EBay.

That's too bad..

I'm glad you asked permission, that's the right thing to do.

However, that's not the point I'm making. You read through these forums every day, which you're perfectly entitled to do, not to contribute, but to glean information from them, which you then post on YouTube in order to make an advertising profit. You're clever, granted, but you're a forum leach and not a contributor, and that's what I don't like about you.

Admittedly, it's pretty hard to make a living as a YouTube poster over the long-term, but I think this should be done through your own endeavours and contributions, and not by being a forum leach.

EDIT TOPIC : "If we forget the fact that Rockstar will not put her on gta has cause of their sharkcard, we know perfectly well that most of the players, wish to make of the purchase resale and want to look for bargains, to get rid of objects which they do not use anymore or which are simply useless for them but useful for of other one.

Thus the principle of the site would allow to give a new life to objects of occasions. "

So i have read through the whole thread and i saw many people who said it will never happen because of sharkcards.

Well here is how i see it:

Yes they guy who sells the car/object, will obviously not buy a sharkcard but whats with the guy who buys the stuff?

An example: A player wants to buy an RE7B but he does not have the money. So he grinds Jobs to get the 2.7 Million Dollars to buy it because he has enough time.

But now imagine the same player seeing a fully modded RE7B for 1.5 Million Dollars on the Rocklist site before he starts to grind. He basicly sees the same car, fully modded but half price of the original car and he knows that it will be limited, because everyone else can also see it. Some hes more likely to buy a sharkcard because he thinks he is "saving" money. Its basic bussines psycology. People are more likely to buy something if the think they are "saving" money and/or if the item is time limited. Rockstargs Eventweek Discounts and and limited time vehicles (halloween cars) are working the same way.

If combined with some anti exploiting, like a min and max price (min price=money you would get for selling at the lsc, max price=1,5 times what the original vehicle and all its tuning parts costed), it could work pretty well.

So in conclusion we can say that it, not only would have no negativ effect, but could actually push the sharkcard sales, if they do it right.

Great presentation...and thought out idea. Almost to good for R*

For some reason you're idea makes me wish I can get 'signature' golf clubs and a snappy golf bag to use @ golf course.

Online stillings busted for me, empty public sessions. If there is people the lag is beyond redickcluelous.

Fun idea, and auctions!

OP, not going to happen. R* is the only player who will keep to control the "economy" in this game. The only p2p transactions we will get are the network transactions. It's not about scamming or abusing, just basic greed.
