for the past week,

-

Get on Sanctus / Vortex

Find a nice wall

Climb it. Repeatedly.

Crash bike to death in the process

A brief yet stupidly satisfying "YAY IM GHOSTRIDER! :D" scene

Repeat.

-

Otherwise; Mc, Contact missions, races

:D

Don't be mad GTAO, I still love you

Seems like you and I have about the same experience, then.

BUTT. When the game actually allows me to play...

1- Load up free roam.

2- Become CEO

3- Walk out of the office.

4- Expand the map to check the blips nearby.

5- Get on my bike to take off and get some work done.

6- Idiocy happens and I end up eating the bumper of a car or truck.

7- Repeat from 5 until I arrive at my destination.

8- Get killed by some bastard in passive + guns glitch

9- Load up Destiny and become salty for the rest of the day.

I always go straight to Invite Only, but I enter passive right away to avoid a bounty when stealing and selling a car. After this, I'll sometimes come out of passive to do a quick solo CEO/VIP mission and re-enter it when I'm searching for or hosting jobs (just in case the game dumps me in a public server). All other free roam time is spent buying/changing clothes, buying/customising cars, completing objectives (if I'm in the mood), taking video footage, aimless driving, or just relaxing and exploring.

Public servers give me anxiety. I've tried, but have ultimately given up on them again. Just the other day I spawned into one after a race; I was in passive but someone came up to me and sent me a message to get in their car. I ended up changing sessions. Perhaps that's social anxiety; I don't know. :p

Since I play in invite only,I don't have any problems with griefers, glitchers, modders, hackers...

I join the session, make some money (at least $50000 a day),and then just relax by driving around in some of my cars or riding around on some of my bikes for a while.

Passive unless I wanna do MC work or bullsh*t around with friends. Always someone in a air vehicle no matter how many lobbies I join.

1. Everyone is a d-bag.

2. When in doubt rule 1 applies.

Try to sell a npc car, check dailies, switch sessions until I am alone in public. Go MC to resupply, go CEO until some product has been produced.

I play in populated lobbies because that's what I enjoy, so my routine is finding a balance between enjoying GTA online and making as much money as possible. I love playing this game and living my virtual life in Los Santos.

I spawn in my CEO office, always, do a crate run and grab a random vehicle from my secretary - just whatever takes my fancy. After I've done headhunter/whatever, I log on as an MC, sell a single green coke 'bar' at the 'far' distance for 84k + bonuses, grab a few supplies again, and rinse and repeat the CEO crate collection process. It's easy to walk away with 500k in an evening, plus you've got those warehouses to sell when you can find an empty lobby.

If people bother me, I bother them back - it usually works out well.

Time out 3 times before getting into a lobby

Get into a lobby finally, get in my car

While I'm sitting there afk some guy blows me up

Chase him down and kill him to the point he leaves lobby

Gets bored and turns game off

I call it "survival", but yeah, it's real anxiety (those of us who "get into" their games--and I thought Seasonal Affective Disorder was stressful.)

IME 90% of public sessions are just one big ludicrous, obnoxious deathmatch... been old, gets old, still old.

Somewhere out there is a free roam session where players do things other than constantly kill each other (or get killed by the LSPD...which still happens way too often in Invite-Only sessions).

Am imagining random events like in Story Mode--things that directly involve more NPC interaction--other than the LSPD (creative events that can happen at any time, something along the lines of holding up a store, or gang attacks, etc.). Basically, anything to make Los Santos FEEL like Los Santos--not just a big arena with walking/cussing bots, and terminator players and cops.

Pretty much keep to myself, and others tend to do the same.

Please send me an invite to this beautiful world of yours. :) I find them...once in a while.

Sometime would love to just (spontaneously) be able to catch a car thief (NPC--think Sentinel driver) in-game, and return the car to the NPC owner--things like that; or maybe assist the LSPD in doing something (maybe catch an escaped NPC criminal from Bolingbroke Penitentiary using the Stun Gun?). Or stealth parachuting/sneaking into the Altruist camp using Nightvision Goggles, and assassinating someone inside a cabin, or using the Rebreather to sneak onto one of the off-shore islands at night and steal something from the Vagos or Lost MC.

And I still think unannounced events that JUST HAPPEN spontaneously (like Armored Cars appearing/disappearing) in-game would add some very nice variety and anticipation to the nonsense that goes on. Crate drops too; yes, they were player vs. player, but it was at least FUN scrambling to grab those crates.

Definitely! :) This is why we need more lobby options and types (PvP, PvE) when it comes to free roam; additionally more interactive things like billiards, bowling, volleyball, basketball, etc would be a nice touch as well.

I think I may suffer from the problem of overthinking the game a bit at times, but I feel there is often too much pressure when it comes to interacting with others whilst in free roam. Could be that I just get bored too easily and don't want to adhere to the concept of constantly fighting off other players or just driving aimlessly around and hanging out with people I don't really know with no real direction or objective in the mix. It just feels...odd and that's why I just stick to jobs where I sort of always know what to expect and can just move onto the next or do whatever after they've finished. Also, that's why I prefer my own Invite Only lobby; the only person's schedule or motives I have to answer to are my own.

In the sanctity of my invite only lobby - this is my chill out soloing routine when I don't have to conduct any business like heists - missions - CEO or MC:

  • Wake up North Conker Stilt Mansion - put clothes on for the day - pick a car - start touring all other 4 owned city properties (different types of high end) and switching cars each time.
  • After visiting last city property at Alta St - call for Volitus to be delivered to the Marina - get in - drink a few glasses champagne in the back - then fly it to the yacht which is always in one of the three Vespucci locations
  • Chill out on the yacht for a bit - make sure bartender feels some love - call for Gold Luxor - Fly the Supervolito provided on yacht out to the airport
  • Chill in the back of Gold Luxor with champ and cigars - fly to Paleto Beach after
  • Go to the "cottage" on Procopio - change into Biker Gear
  • Go to Paleto Bay clubhouse and chill with the bartender
  • Pick one of my 10 bikes and tour all 5 businesses surrounding in proximity to check status
  • Once good - back to clubhouse - change into a nice suit or appropriate CEO gear - call the assistant to get my pilot to pick me up
  • Have some champ in the back while I hear that jamaican drawl before deciding to warp to the office
  • Say "Hi" to the Exec assistant - tour the office making sure none of the piles of money are any lower - have her get me a car..
  • Check on all the warehouses and make sure nothing has disappeared and is where I left it
  • Head back to office - put on a nighttime outfit - chillax at the strip club getting all the ladies like meters to max
  • After that - its either down to business or I decide to get my kuruma - park it at side entrance of PAC - call 911 - kill the responding officers and then hole up in the 2nd floor to see how long I can last against the endless horde of 5-star cops - and IF - I can escape when Im bored killing them.

I'm only in pub free mode when I want to do CEO or MC - and usually somehow - though I dont know how - Im in there alone eventually.

But if I care to stay in a pub free mode with other people - I like to go raccoon hunting. If I see some dillhole in one of those godawful masks - I feel the urge to kill them repeatedly and without mercy!!!!

Either:

  • a) I load into a populated session. As I'm getting off my yacht, there's an unknown network error.

Or:

  • b) I load into a populated session. As I'm getting off my yacht, there's a session split. Not much else to do but grind.

Or:

  • c) I load into an empty session. I get off my yacht and there's not much to do but grind.

That's in recent days anyway. Back when it worked some of the time, I (obviously) liked flying my helicopters around, bounty hunting, getting into little battles, taking on jets, etc. Just doing my thing.

Shoot at unknown blips so I get left alone. Especially low hanging fruit like choppers and slow planes.

Well it all depends on what I'm wanting to accomplish.

Work mode, I usally start by inviting players to my organization. They are not necessary but I figure if they work for me they will get paid. Start with piracy prevention, I run point to point, then headhunter, most wanted, Executive Search, headhunter, point to point.... you get the idea. Sometimes I'll run crates but haven't been focusing on them. I don't run into much trouble. I can usally handle myself, get away or avoid conflict altogether by staying in the air and working fast.

Hunt mode, I'll stay on the outside and snipe from out of lock-on range. I try to avoid the cheaters and passive/EWO abusers.

Minding my own business doing car stuff, taking pictures, shopping, afk, basically anything that involves me literally not being able to protect myself I'll probably be in passive or I'll leave to story. It's online, no pause, players should learn to do the same.

That's all if my lobby doesn't empty

Spawn at my house in Paleto bay, grab one of my Sandkings to sell for a quick 18k, and then I will usually get the BF400 and go riding around in the Paleto Forest area or call for the Savage and just go out flying. I don't really care for PvP anymore so I spend most of my time in Paleto Bay where its a little more quiet. Then I'll either do some Motorcycle Club Resupply runs or get a few CEO crates.

Usually just drive around and run ceo work, I always enter sessions trying to be friendly, someone pulls up to me and I'll salute, then often they will end up shooting and all hell breaks loose, I'll then normally kill them until they leave and then anyone who comes near me after that ends up getting shot at.

Had a good one the other night, 2 people went past me on a motorbike, I ignored them and didn't shoot, I didn't notice but they went down the road and one of them sniped me, pfffft.

I then raged war on them killing them both at least 15 times which between them they got 1 more kill on me.

They ended up running off and I called in my Hydra, killed one of them 3 times before he ran to the building with all the construction work going on, left him and went after the other one, got 5 kills on him before he went ghosted to me.

I then get a message, "why you killing us?"..............honestly some people.
