leaflinks
Hi, I wanted to know how I could move an object to another location, this would be like a vehicle, as well as static objects such as a buiding or perhaps a copy of one to another location. What does that require? I do know about Zanoza Modeler for opening up Dff files and texturing using the txd images. I did once try and edit a vehicle, I couldn't give it much of a function, it wasn't a code problem. It was more to do with some kind of blocking object which stopped a player from going into an area of it. Could that be collisions or something. I saw something similar in San Andreas but there wasn't a problem with that. But that was an interior vehicle already loaded just wasn't accessible. spaceeinstein
Static map objects are placed through the IPL files or through the script. Vehicles are mainly placed through the script. You need to use a decompiler/compiler like Sanny Builder to edit the script. I don't understand about the part where you say you edited the model of the vehicle. The model of the vehicle has nothing to do with its placement in the world.
leaflinks
I know of that program. I was mentioned that in another topic. I'm refering to objects like a building, if I want to create a copy of one and then move it to somewhere else that can be done using Sanny Builder? If I simply move one building to another location what goes in the location of where it was orignally?
spaceeinstein
You can use a map editor like KEd or MEd to manipulate the placement of map objects that are placed through the IPL files. leaflinks
As for adding my own object into the game, like a terrain for a buidling, I'd need to texture it too. Zanoza Modeler can do so. But there are other files needed for that? Seems like MED has had problems. I'm running XP 32 bit home edition, so I imagine not a problem? I tried to remove a tree in North Washington at one of Vercetti's save points there a boat dock nearby and a apartment block north of the drive into it, there is a swimming pool at both locations, but it doesn't display in the game. I used MED and I did save the install. Edited November 3, 2016 by leaflinks
spaceeinstein
Changes you made in MEd aren't showing up in-game? Have you removed the read-only attribute of the files yet and have you made a copy of the game outside the standard install folder?
