Official General
^ So much fun right there, and absolutely free! Rockstar didn't offer SP DLC but it has offered a fantastic PC version. If possible, console players should spend invest in good gaming PC and learn to mod the game to make the most out of the game, instead of relying on R* which will never provide the kind of content available through mods anyways, no matter the price. And No, PC does not cost thousands of dollars and its totally misleading. For more, check out the link on my forum sig! For the topic, GTA V may not be as amazing as GTA SA but the open world itself is, soo... gorgeous and diverse to explore and have fun around the various locations, and with the mods installed who the hell wants the DLC; the game feels more complete and better with the mods I beat the game three times already I see no need to spend 1000 dollars on a gaming PC. I might consider it a couple of month from now but I'm good for now. I saw that drug dealing mod for Franklin it looked boring. I'm not knocking mods just that particular one. I think I didn't !ike it because it was one of Typical gamer's long winded videos where he blabs for about 20 minutes before starting gameplay that's why. @ Smokes What drug dealing mod for Franklin is that ? Because the main drug dealing mod for V has no cut scenes, it's just got a menu that pops up whenever you approach a drug dealer up close to buy or sell drugs. That's the only serious drug dealing mod for V I know of (and trust me, I've looked everywhere as I love this feature). The mod I'm talking about is not boring at all. Yeah it's repetitive like any feature or activity in a game, but it serves an end purpose that is constructive to the gameplay, and it's still fun for roleplaying as career criminal trying to make money, the main appeal of GTA in the first place. Beating V three times already does not equate to having an experience with the game's SP that would be hugely and drastically improved in the greatest way possible with mods. If you're happy with what the original un-modded V game offers in SP, then fine, but if not, one should consider getting a gaming PC for a modded V, especially if they are massive SP GTA fans. I wasn't talking about. It s ends I was talking about typical gamers you tubing style like when I was watching his mod play through. Instead of getting on with the gameplay after the usual YouTuber I tro "what's up guys what's going on?!? blah blah blah...." And just simply getting on with with the gameplay . Hell sit there talking and planning and twerking graphic settings and every ThI g else that has nothing to do with game play when he should of done that before even making the video. He reminds me of gamers on upstream and PlayStation live that will sit there talking their asses off for a good 15 minutes about absolutely nothing while upgrading their characters skill trees and picking load outs in whatever game for, fight night marvel ultimate ate alliance etc. I mean look kid just play the freaking game already. I che Ked out the gang war territory mod it was cool. I looked at the burger sh*t mods and all you do is walk up to thee front door press "E" and your energy I restored. I thought you said there was Interiors. Has the. Or been upgraded since it was released? It's been about a year now and what does cute ends have to do with this. All I know is the Drug Traffic Mod is a very simple and straightforward, but very fun side activity relating to crime. That Burger Shot Mod you saw is not the one I'm talking about, that's the Food Mod where you go to a variety of eateries around the map and press E at the front door to eat and regain health. There is an actual mod that creates an interior for Burger Shot with working peds. PhillBellic and UltraGizmo64

Official General
It's cool to hate popular games now. Sorry, but I don't know what that means. I only dislike a game simply because I don't like it. I never knew disliking video games was ever supposed to be some kind of fashion trend that anybody else cared about in the first place. So if I don't like a video game, how do I get to look 'cool' ? How does this even work ? Do I wear a T-Shirt saying "I hate this particular game" ? That's the cool part ? Or posting my opinion on a gaming website that less 0.01111 of the world population will read ? I don't get it. COD gets hate because in the eyes of many gamers it's gone down the pan and it's no longer as appealing as it used to be. Popular games will always be popular for their reasons, but if they decrease in popularity and appeal it's because they feel it went down in quality - not because people now think it's cool to do so. We are here to play and enjoy video games bro, some once popular franchises will at some point lose their appeal and a lot of fanbase due to a drop in quality. This isn't some kind of contest to see who can spit the best rap lyrics, has the best street dance moves, or rocks the flyest urban fashions, this is simply about being a gamer, you either like game or you don't, there is nothing to try and be cool with at it. GTA V gets a lot of dislikes for similar reasons, but at the same time it still retains huge popularity in the mainstream, simple, not stuff to do with being cool. PkUnzipper
Sure but I think Online is changing and I play Online mostly. But you can still replay V's story? The story is generally perceived to be weak and boring in many parts, so for many SP fans, it's not an appealing solution. Finding stuff to do in free roam is another solution for more fun and interesting SP experiences, but it's gonna be very hard to get that when the game don't have much features to support it. A reduced amount of decent interiors, not enough decent side activities relating to prolific, money-motivated crime, no gang wars, there is just not enough for a great free roaming experience in SP. This. And online isn't "constantly changing" as much as the same game features are being tweaked and retweaked. Take vehicle races for example. Vanilla GTAO started out with many super and bike land races. This has since "changed" to super stunt races. Which are really just a variation of the same theme. Then there are some features that were/are still very popular and have the greatest potential to keep GTAO fresh and interesting. Features like heists. Which R* has allowed to go stale. It's been AGES since they published the heist feature and it would be nice if they updated this for a different setting/building. Because now ppl just use glitches/cheats to shortent the time it takes to get their payout. Because the feature is stale and there isn't any challenge. Both GTA V and GTAO are overly shiny, superficial and lack the replayability of their predecessors GTA IV/GTA III and especially SA. Period. The devs must have an extreme blind spot or aversion to successful predecessors of GTA. Because it would appear they had a gross under sight on the reason why GTA SA is still being played today. Six words that makes GTA SA superior to GTA V: Loaded with sandbox things to do..... This is something GTA V --by default of design--was and will never be able to do. No matter how much DLC they crank out for GTAO (or SP if they ever reconsider doing this later). The game architecture/design is extremely handicapped compared to GTA IV, GTA III, and definitely GTA SA. I spent over 60 hours replaying and re-discovering LS, SF and NV with CJ. Discovering content that I completely missed when doing the main story. Hidden activities like the Mt. bike race down Mt. Chilliad from the summit. Or participating in the triathalon if you listened carefully to the Beat the Cock radio commercial. And even if you didn't do this, you might still miss out on the triathalon event if you weren't in your beach safe house area at certain times on weekends. Then there's other fun sandbox stuff like: *hidden go cart races in SF. You'd miss this opportunity if you didn't check the side streets closely enough *BEING ABLE TO DRIVE TRAINS and make $$$$ *BEING ABLE TO DO ASSET MISSIONS TO OWN PROPERTY. Again you might miss this on first playthrough because the bike was so inconspicuous *BEING ABLE TO OWN MULTIPLE PROPERTIES & BUSINESS ON THE MAP to make $$$ *FACT STATE OF SA HAD THREE f*ckING DISTINCT CITIES WITH SUBURBS/COUNTRY AREAS---YET GTA V IS STILL A f*ckING ISLAND TO DATE?!? *INTERIORS some of which were interactive *tagging mini game that encouraged player to explore the world. No such feature exists in GTA V. *tons of other non combat style mini games and most of which let you earn money *body morphing protagonist who needed to eat for health and would get fat, muscular skinny based on their diet. That is the realism missing in GTA V. Why cut this feature? It's directly tied to the PC combat skills * WORKING f*ckING HORSE RACE GAMBLING. WTF IS THIS MISSING FROM GTA V & GTAO TO DATE??? *WORKING f*ckING CASINOS WITH GAMBLING. WTF IS THIS STILL MISSING FROM GTAO TO DATE???? *hidden street car/bike races. Needed to explore LS to find these entry markers *Low rider challenges in SA style. WTF do we have Benny's in GTAO--with zero means of competitively show boating your whip that you spent millions on proudly pimping out? *dancing at the Alhambra center with our without a date. WTF is Bahama Mamas still closed to date? Even though they have interiors? Why can't they open this dance club to do just that? So SP players can gain XP/$$$ competitively etc. *yes SP DATING feature. That made for a nice break in the action. Would have been even better if they hadn't made it a requirement for completion *the pimping, taxi, ambulance, vigilante, asset, and robbery side missions that gave CJ many fun and varied ways of making money - WTH did these go in GTA V? Why is it that only Trevor gets to do drug side mission on that Mary Jane farm, and not Franklin or Micheal? *gang banging drug dealers & earning $50K+ each time. No such feature in vanilla GTA V *trying to figure out what clothes CJ needed to wear and what shape he needed to be in to date & score with his GF. Or just piss off the citizens of SA * SF chop shop to make $$$ And.... *naturally the hot coffee mod if you had the 1st ed of the game CD aka before The Hildebeast flew in on her broomstick and put her claws & teeth into GTA....... That's BEFORE you add all the extra content that mods on PC did to expand the shelf life on SA. With GTA V, it's impossible to reproduce the fun replayability of SA, because R* didn't leave any unused/unpublished content on the cutting room floor. And the lack of SP customization for PC clothes/vehicles and [email protected] interiors with real physics engine, really killed the shelf life of GTA V for me. No matter how much superficial content R* cranks out for GTAO, it will never approach the summit that it's predecessor SA did in the vanilla game. GTA V SP mode was clearly rushed to meet the release deadline. And so ended up being an expensive $60 license key and tutorial on how to play GTAO. Which was a complete waste of time, since so many players are natural born cheaters. Fail R* Fail. GTA V gets a lot of dislikes for similar reasons, but at the same time it still retains huge popularity in the mainstream, simple, not stuff to do with being cool. CoD is hated because --now that the shiny feel of the game is long gone--it's really another repetitious FPS grindfest to play. Kill, level up, buy better armor/weapons to kill. Level up. Rinse and repeat. By now, you know all the vanilla game maps like the back of your hand. You know exactly where to hide/camp out, and what tactics/strategy your char will use to boost their K/D ratio. etc etc. So the game is not challenging or inspirational in that sense. Ironic how non FPS and sandbox/RPG single player games like Minecraft, Bully, RDR, Skyrim /TES, Fallout NV/FO4, Gary's Mod, Farming Simulator, & ARK are so high in their replay value, that they still continue to dominate gaming stats on places like Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ Skyrim in particular, has typically dominated and outranked FO4 in player stats (unless Fallout was busy dropping one of it's many creative "DLCs"). In which case, fan boy fever over the latest FO4 shiny, would bump FO4 over Skyrim in the top 15. It's also a an intriguing fact that Skyrim - a FIVE YEAR OLD, SINGLE PLAYER GAME -- has NEVER fallen out of the top 15 most played games on Steam since it shipped in 2011. Which means Skyrim has dominated the likes of FPS games like CoD & BF counterparts over the last 5 years. So it's the sandbox games like TES, Gary's Mod, ARK, and older Fallout titles like NV which have proved to have the highest replay value over time. Because it's SP mods which have extended the shelf life of virtually all of these games (with exception of ARK). And because all of these games have many sandbox modes which give the player multiple options to play the game. GTA SA on the PC is another perfect example why R* was able to make a billion the first week of game release. GTA IV DIDN'T SELL GTA V--IT WAS GTA SA. PERIOD. Players want the ability to customize every aspect of their gaming experience. From the way their char/protag looks, to what they wear, to what they drive, to how they interact with their game environment. Past GTA titles like SA, GTA IV and GTA III offered this sand box experience. Sad to say that their successor GTA V has not. Unlike the rigid, unimaginative and painfully linearity you get in every mission, side job/quest etc. from playing CoD/BF3 or some other online FPS MMO. Throwing TESO into this bin for the bastardized red head step child that it is IMO, Steam stats are an indicator of game shelf life. Because they illustrate game popularity trends from the community that makes the mods. Anyways, according to Steam stats today, its the SP RPG/sandbox games that have been keeping old titles like Skyrim and Fallout NV/3 alive. And likely the reason why Beth decided to remaster & make Skyrim SE. The high market demand/game usage statistics from the console side, have made the SE overhaul a clearly profitable venture for Beth to undertake.
