Now I wonder how many law abiding citizens own GTA 5.

I'm such a person. I go further, I Enforce the Law in GTA V.

@ OP, GTA V shipped 70 Million Copies =/= owned by 70 million criminals worldwide!

I bought the game twice for different platforms but that does not mean there are two owners of the game.

Just a correction regarding the misleading title.

Congrats to Rockstar. It shows that despite this forum a lot of people like the game.

I certainly like the V a lot more now that I'm using a range of great mods to give myself the best SP experience customised to my own personal preferences.

But I'm gonna congratulate myself for getting up and doing something about V's weak SP and improving the situation by getting a gaming PC and using mods. And I'm gonna give special thanks to the mod creators out there. So funnily enough, I'm not congratulating Rockstar for reasons why I like the game more.

Now I have V on PC, I never even gonna so much as sniff at online MP, let alone have a quick spin.

what mods do you have for V? i have V laying around in my PC but i never got around to completing the boring campaign

@ Nobium

These are my preferred mods for V on PC :

* Open All Interiors - great for immersion, exploring and shootouts (roleplay). Enter clubs, nightclubs, offices, stadiums etc, many of them have active peds in them too. Bahama Mamas needs a loaded map for peds, but its amazing once you get one for it, there are plenty.

* Burger Shot interior - was so great to be able to enter Burger Shot again ! And yes, with active peds in them too.

* Ped Spawner (with or without weapons) - great for shootouts in the streets or interiors (roleplay), or just to create better ambience in the more emptier areas.

* Cops On The Beat - puts more cops walking on the streets of the city, rather than always just driving around in cars.

* Advanced Bodyguards - perfect for gang shootouts as you can pit two groups of rival gang members against each other anywhere, anytime, and you can call them for back up for a mission, trouble, and much more.

* Drug Traffic - basically dealing drugs and making a profit out of it, like CW, buy low, sell high, go around town doing business with different dealers. To get that grindin' hustler feel for Franklin.

* Trifecta's Heists - mini heists that allow you to rob all Flecca banks and the Pacific Standard Bank, a way to quickly make some good cash. Mad fun too, because it's very challenging.

* Vehicle Export - meaning is in the title. An auto-theft outfit at the docks has a list of wanted cars for you to steal and you get paid cash for it. Simple, but essential GTA, kind of straightforward stuff that made it so fun.

* Rob and Sell Drugs - you can approach ANY ped and either rob them at gunpoint for cash, or just sell a small amount of drugs to them - they may give up the cash, buy the drugs, or they may snitch on you (wanted level) or shoot you !

* Single Player Apartment - you can buy other safehouse properties, with this, the ones from online are now in SP. Better variation and more choice in how you spend your money, great for empire building.

* Stay At Hotels - stay in hotels across the map as a save point, you pay a cash sum for every night you stay, different prices for different hotels.

* Single Player Gang War Missions - SP-styled missions for Franklin to do with gang wars, this needs no further explanation, It's a real blast !

* Single Player Online Missions - Online MP/solo missions now in SP.

* Trucking Missions - moving cargo in trucks around the map for cash, like in SA, great for exploring the map and gameplay variety.

* Ped Health Increased - There are a number of these mods, but they just make peds have longer lifespans, and they can fight for longer instead of getting knocked out with 1 punch - they can also withstand more shots, more fun for conflict.

* Food Mod - go to fast food joints and restaurants to eat and regain health.

* Jridah's Weapon Packs - with this, I changed the default pistol into a Glock 9mm, and the Micro MG into a Mac-10 - this makes weapons for gangs much more realistic and more enjoyable.

* Bear Mod - bears are now found in the wilderness, makes much more sense to have bears.

^ So much fun right there, and absolutely free!

Rockstar didn't offer SP DLC but it has offered a fantastic PC version.

If possible, console players should spend invest in good gaming PC and learn to mod the game to make the most out of the game, instead of relying on R* which will never provide the kind of content available through mods anyways, no matter the price.

And No, PC does not cost thousands of dollars and its totally misleading. For more, check out the link on my forum sig!

For the topic, GTA V may not be as amazing as GTA SA but the open world itself is, soo... gorgeous and diverse to explore and have fun around the various locations, and with the mods installed who the hell wants the DLC; the game feels more complete and better with the mods

Exactly. The best thing about it, is that it's free. You don't even need no f*cking SP DLC once you got these brilliant mods. The funny thing is, I care much less about SP DLC more than ever, now I'm using mods for V. Selfish I know, but that's effect it has.

I'm gonna second this, and urge big GTA SP fans to invest in a gaming PC if you really want experience V and (and even IV) in best way possible in SP mode. It took me a while, but once I looked into it, I just had to do it, I'm a big GTA SP fan and I had to do myself justice.

Think of all that money to be made if they made a SP DLC...... but no, let's focus on cash card sales. R* logic.

Hopefully Red Dead gets a SP DLC at least.....

I recall the trio saying how much hard work it was doing the mo cap stuff (for almost 3 years too) and that might have some hand in why didn't they go that route this time.

Maybe they had everything ready to go (as evidenced by the leaks) but they had the mo cap stuff left which they decided just to scrap after very careful consideration.

Just watched the hour long IGN Comic Con thing they did 3 years ago yesterday and they kept reiterating how much of a pain it was to do all that work.

Cheatz/Trickz

I've had Mafia III recommended to me, but it just don't really draw me in man. The fact that it's set in 1960s didn't appeal to me for starters. I'd rather play in-modded V in current-gen over Mafia III.

The only thing that makes me want to check it out is the story, apparently it's great, it seems that's the only positive that every review is in agreement on.

How much?

Think about the costs of making the SP DLC.

It was previously reported that there are speculations of Rockstar Games developing a brand new single-player DLC for "Grand Theft Auto V." However, according to a report from IBTimes, it is possible that if such a DLC pack should be released, it will cost nearly as much as a full retail video game.

According to the report, YouTube user DomIsLive ¡ª a regular video game insider who has released leaks and rumors regarding the franchise before ¡ª states that while the online multiplayer mode gets updates and new gameplay mechanics for free and on a regular basis, this will not be the same for the single-player campaign.

In the posted video, it is speculated that a single-player story DLC may cost as much as 49.99 given that the developers would need to step away from the online revenue and focus on developing a brand new story, hire voice actors, and designing new maps, weapons and vehicles.

The single player DLC is likely going to impact the online game, and this will require even more fine-tuning, which may lead to an even longer delay in the DLC's potential launch if there is even one to begin with.

According to the video, Rockstar Games will continue providing free content to keep the online game active given that the company does earn a high profit from the microtransactions alone. A single-player DLC pack does not offer the same financial benefits which is why it is likely that Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive will charge players to acquire the DLC. However, some fans speculate that there will be no single-player DLCs for "Grand Theft Auto V" given that it has been three years since it was initially launched and because the company may already be too busy working on a new IP.

Also, Refer - The Costs of Selling Games, an Overview

Its simple to calculate the figure they might make from selling the DLC but its not-so simple and possible to make as much money after you factor in the costs associated in making the SP DLC compared to the clear-cut, and guaranteed cash with minimal costs involved in selling cash cards as microtransactions that goes up to 700 million dollars!!!

So yes, let's focus on cash card sales because its not R* logic, but it is the economic model of Online that has proven the best, so far, in the interests of both the players ( who enjoy free content with the option to pay ) and publishers compared to the option of SP DLC that might be risky and not as profitable as Online. The bigger and content rich the SP DLC gets, higher the selling price required to breakeven the costs!

EFLC utterly tanked, and was a lesson for Take Two that its best to explore safer and less risky options, plain and simple.

Thanks dude, you proved me right.

Congrats to Rockstar. It shows that despite this forum a lot of people like the game.

No. It means there are a significant number of banned players who bought the game for at least the 2nd and 3rd+ times to get back to the business of cheating in GTAO

IMO, R* needs to release the sales stats they've made in profits since their banhammer policy got updated.

Since the policy update, RGSC forum has been increasingly spammed by 2nd and 3rd+ offenders crying about how unfair their bans are. Especially since they didn't do anything to get banned. And it's not just the English speakers crying on there. It's global. Looks like yesterday and today were the days R* decided to sweep and nerf German fan boy profiles

Mafia III isn't a mediocre title. The criticisms for Mafia III reflect the hypocrisy and double standards of bashing every game that isn't a Rockstar title. The ridiculously high scores given to mediocre titles like GTA IV are an indication of bad tastes, not Mafia III which is a lot better in comparison.

LOLOL Mafia 3 is a mediocre game bcuz

1- it runs on 30 fps

2- have the same graphics of San andreas

3- dispite the open world, once you end the repetitive missions you got nothing else to do.

i wouldnt try to compare it to Gta5 even if i was high on drugs

story is ok and driving is better then gta, but that doesnt make a game

I beat the game three times already I see no need to spend 1000 dollars on a gaming PC. I might consider it a couple of month from now but I'm good for now. I saw that drug dealing mod for Franklin it looked boring. I'm not knocking mods just that particular one. I think I didn't !ike it because it was one of Typical gamer's long winded videos where he blabs for about 20 minutes before starting gameplay that's why. Edited by SmokesWithCigs

@ Smokes

What drug dealing mod for Franklin is that ? Because the main drug dealing mod for V has no cut scenes, it's just got a menu that pops up whenever you approach a drug dealer up close to buy or sell drugs. That's the only serious drug dealing mod for V I know of (and trust me, I've looked everywhere as I love this feature). The mod I'm talking about is not boring at all. Yeah it's repetitive like any feature or activity in a game, but it serves an end purpose that is constructive to the gameplay, and it's still fun for roleplaying as career criminal trying to make money, the main appeal of GTA in the first place.

Beating V three times already does not equate to having an experience with the game's SP that would be hugely and drastically improved in the greatest way possible with mods. If you're happy with what the original un-modded V game offers in SP, then fine, but if not, one should consider getting a gaming PC for a modded V, especially if they are massive SP GTA fans.

Maybe because people hate the fact that the game world gets very boring after completing the story and they were hoping SP DLC would add more things to do.

@ Getting up

I don't think you quite understand something so straightforward. People wanted a change of scenery and atmosphere with V, and wanted a great SP experience to go along with that. Most of them were not to know Rockstar would choose to go the down the priority online MP route. So, no they can't just go back to playing IV, besides IV is a different game to V.

Surely you're not stupid ?

No matter how much we cry and brag about the SP DLC it ain't happening. C*ck Rockstar isn't wasting their time on making an SP DLC but rather put all their hard work into creating more sh*tty online updates that i wouldn't give any f*cks about since i stopped playing that GTAO trash way back in 2014. Shark cards can kiss my ass for all i care of :wtf:

Sure but I think Online is changing and I play Online mostly.

But you can still replay V's story?

The story is generally perceived to be weak and boring in many parts, so for many SP fans, it's not an appealing solution. Finding stuff to do in free roam is another solution for more fun and interesting SP experiences, but it's gonna be very hard to get that when the game don't have much features to support it. A reduced amount of decent interiors, not enough decent side activities relating to prolific, money-motivated crime, no gang wars, there is just not enough for a great free roaming experience in SP.

I wasn't talking about. It s ends I was talking about typical gamers you tubing style like when I was watching his mod play through. Instead of getting on with the gameplay after the usual YouTuber I tro "what's up guys what's going on?!? blah blah blah...." And just simply getting on with with the gameplay . Hell sit there talking and planning and twerking graphic settings and every ThI g else that has nothing to do with game play when he should of done that before even making the video. He reminds me of gamers on upstream and PlayStation live that will sit there talking their asses off for a good 15 minutes about absolutely nothing while upgrading their characters skill trees and picking load outs in whatever game for, fight night marvel ultimate ate alliance etc. I mean look kid just play the freaking game already. I che Ked out the gang war territory mod it was cool. I looked at the burger sh*t mods and all you do is walk up to thee front door press "E" and your energy I restored. I thought you said there was Interiors. Has the. Or been upgraded since it was released? It's been about a year now and what does cut scenes have to do with this.

The hipsters in the GTA forum coomunity all love ripping V and pointing out just how IV was the single greatest achievement in the history of humankind.

But me? I think V is easily the best GTA and in my all time top five games. Amazing game from almost every angle. Well done Rockstar and thank you for the game.
