NumaYay
The Grand Theft Auto Franchise has always used fictional radio stations, so why has R* included real songs in past GTA games? Neither do the bands or actors exist in the GTA universe, nor should the songs. It kinda kills the immersion that we always have to listen to real life music that has nothing to do with the virtual game world. So hopefully this will change with GTA VI. R* should include its own songs. Of course they can make some parodies about songs that exist in our real world, but all in all it will be way better if the radio stations receive songs created by R*. Maxxeine
I'd have to disagree on some fronts, mainly because the radio is what breathes life into GTA's fictional recreations of their real-life counterparts - the music selection reflects the cities and their differences. If they made custom music, all of this atmosphere would be lost, and it wouldn't be as enjoyable to just hear custom tracks, personally. It didn't 'harm' the atmosphere of those Games. Zello and Payne Killer
Zello
I'd really like to see them do that again the fake bands and songs really made the soundtracks in III and LCS great. PhillBellic

I think maybe Two Radio Stations with such Music would be great. Payne Killer and Zello
Homemade Dynamite
No thanks. Also, who's to say these people don't exist in the GTA world? The DJs mention them by name, not to mention Phil Collins appearing in VCS, so it seems they do in fact exist. slimeball supreme
Fake songs would be fine, but I'd rather not have real songs removed. HeistsActivist
Ivan1997GTA
Like everyone said, it would be fine to have some made up songs, but if they also play real songs on there, like in GTA III & LCS (come to think of it, LCS was the last game to have music by fictional artists). universetwisters
Are we all forgetting that they had a "fake" song in GTA 5? If we have fake music in a GTA game, I'd rather have a whole genre/station of fake music like they had in GTA 3 or LCS. Like hell, I'd rather have a pop station full of fake pop music that vaguely resembles all the songs they couldn't get licensed instead of a subpar one that had a f*cked up mix of both modern and 80s pop. That sh*t was cray cray. DaddyDirection, PhillBellic, Ivan1997GTA and 2 others
combustion
One or two stations playing fictional music won't hurt, if you don't like them, don't listen to them. PhillBellic and Ivan1997GTA
GTA-Biker
No,I prefer real songs in GTA and other open world games. It's great when I hear some songs I already like in game, and even better when I hear some songs I never heard before and start to like them (nowdays it's more rare than when I was a teen, but some older video games, including some GTA games, influenced a lot of my preference in music). TheHumanIsland
The songs are chosen very carefully. They carry a specific message, the same message is carried in the game's stories and world lore. They could totally include some fake songs, like they did with Love Fist, but really, it is important that the game uses well known songs and tries to get people to understand what the songs actually mean compared to what people tend to think they mean but are wrong about. Vanzant
All of the music tracks in all games are "REAL" GTA3 used lesser known musicians at the time save for maybe Royce da 5'9. All of the tracks are licensed. Nico and Spider-Vice

Nico
From my point of view, lesser known artists (what you guys call "fake music") come in handy when there isn't a big budget behind the game. Which was pretty much the case of all games until VC, and LCS. Obviously R* doesn't handle small budgets anymore so I wouldn't expect they to create "fake" stations anymore. However, they may want to pull another Love Fist, another OG Loc or something like that. Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?

Spider-Vice
All of the music tracks in all games are "REAL" GTA3 used lesser known musicians at the time save for maybe Royce da 5'9. All of the tracks are licensed. Bingo. And some were simply made for the game by real artists, making them real tracks as the artists released them formally too. This also happened with GTA V, with the exception they were known artists. There were no fake songs in any of the mainstream radio stations in any game. Take MSX in III for instance, it was a continuous mix of a widely available drum n' bass CD in 2001. SinZer0s
Songs made exclusively for the games are usually good at least in my opinion I really liked this one from EFLC So it would be pretty cool if GTA NEXT had a few original songs made for the game PhillBellic
capton_cutclass
Honestly I think this a terrible idea...a song by a few fictional bands in the game could be cool...if they did it like they did the movie Meltdown...made it intertwined with the story maybe...but if they did entirely fictional people would hate it. You think you wouldnt but you would. Your acting as if the radio in GTA V is bad? I dont get it. Its great...its been great in every GTA since III...Obviously it gets old after a while but then you go back after years of not playing it and its good again. When I was a kid playing Vice and S.A. I was exposed to tons of music I never would have been. Everytime I hear Mother by Danzig I think of that map. And to be honest Im not knocking III's radio...it was endearing...low budget. They had very few songs. It was good for what that game was but since they made it real music combined with the great commercials and they've brought back Lazlow & Fernando so I dont know I find it crazy people want to go back to awful fake music. If they were good at making music it wouldn't be fictional. In the end it still people that suck. GTA iV had great radio and even better comedy shows...thats one thing they dropped the ball with me. Real comedians doing comedy in the game...so what its not canon GTA fiction. Its awesome.
Non Funkable Token
1 or 2 stations with "fake" (music specifically created for GTA VI is the correct definition) could be good. But keep the real world music, ffs. Anyway the difference between a bunch of created tracks and the Worldwide FM tracks in V would be unnoticeable, honestly. TaliBong
I think a few fictional bands in the game would be good if it was just the odd track on a few stations, but I would welcome a couple of custom radio stations like III had. There's only so much licensed music allowed in the game, and considering many of us only listen to a few stations and won't enjoy every song, some additional music will stop us getting bored of the radio as quick as we otherwise would. vercetti_
It might be a little weird, like the song bugatti, hearing it is weird because in the GTA universe bugatti is called truffade although the radio station hosts mention the artists as if they are real people in the GTA universe, I think it works fine.
