Can't access interaction menu/handbrake and headlight failure

When I went to play today, I was unable to access my interaction menu, and I've also noticed while driving a vehicle that sometimes the handbrake fails to work and I can't turn off my headlights. The handbrake and headlight failure only happens partially, but the inability to access the interaction menu is constant no matter what.

I should add that, today I purchased a new Xbox one S, and this has all started today since I started playing with the new console. However, I should also add that this is the first time I've tried to play since the recent patch/addition of the halloween update a few days ago... so either could be a factor.

 

Anybody experience the same, or have any ideas?

Maybe the controller has gone all funky? Other then that I don't have the slightest clue, sorry.

The controller is new, came with the console. It's all good now tho, went back on again a couple hours later and all worked fine. Must've been some kind of first time log on glitch, or something like that. Who knows.
