Too many loading screens

OP have you played the Sims 4? I see your point and I agree but there are worse games that have loading screens...

Heavily Modded Sims 2/3 used to be worse, it could often take 20 minutes plus if you had a lot of stuff to load, and then still pop in for a while once your in!

 

With the amount of stuff GTA V/Online has to load, unfortuantely some loading screens are inevitable.

No dedicated server is the problem because yes everyone who's playing gta online can be the host for jobs or free roam. If you land with someone with sh*tty connection and he is the host then yes you will experience lags ,clouds screen etc...

This is just how gta o is built , no servers fees for rockstar but inconsistent online experience

TL,DR : deal with it.

when multi theft auto has 5 second loading screens as the next gamemode downloads and starts within seconds. gta online is still in the clouds for 30 seconds simply to start the next round in any gamemode.

OP, you said it's not your PC but it's probably your Hard Drive and the fact that your going from Job > Public Session. You'll easily fix your loading issue by getting a Solid State Drive and doing jobs from closed sessions (invite only, friend session, crew session)

This is why I say it cant be R* servers because we all experience different connection issues, since I switched my internet provider last month, ALL my online games have been damn near perfect

 

different providers have different speeds depending on area, time and how many people are connected etc...there are so many factors to consider...sometimes is PSN or xbox live, why do they not get any stick, it's always R* fault on this website

Oh yeah the loading takes forever usually. Since the biker update, longer than back on last gen (considerably longer actually).

 

Hopefully they'll do something in the next update.

I have never seen this many complaints about a game before GTAONLINE. Though, there isn't a game quite like it, it should still be more stable for more people.

I had a problem with everyone leaving the room at once, but that was my internets fault. I had it fixed and it rarely happens if ever.

I hope you aware that everything needs to actually "LOAD" its how computer systems work.....everygame has loading screens, have you played uncharted.....the loading before the game is damn near 10 mins and that's single player!

 

online has to load up to 30 unique characters, their stats tattoos, weapons, tints, gun loadout, the map, their yachts, apartments etc....these things HAVE to load, I turned on my laptop and it loaded, when you turn on your pc it loads.....the loading screen (clouds) is just the game design while you wait...it could be a black screen, artwork or a spinning wheel

 

its a really big game with lots of content.....single player loads quickly...so its not some R* game design to make it take ages, its that online has way more stuff to consider...remember other people's actions and connections effect it to...these kind of complaints are why I hate when people moan about "harmless" glitches being patched, maybe these glitches are effecting the loading....

 

they didnt design it it load, it just takes longer for different people.....and my point is if EVERYONE does not experience this, it can't be solely R* fault

 

ive been playing this game 3 years now, some things I dnt even notice anymore....the game has to load lobby to lobby, its not some poor game design

 

 

like I sed, my sh*t is perfect these days, quick, very very rarely lags even in a full lobby....and I dnt get that thing where everyone leaves the lobby but you anymore...(even tho I didnt mind cos of bike and ceo stuff)

Freemode used to be the only safe place from loading screens.

 

Now I get them everytime when entering or leaving any of my MC businesses...

My point is there are too many long loading screens in the first place. Sure, every game loads. But in GTAONLINE, you start a mission it loads, you sit in a lobby waiting for people to join, then if for whatever reason you get kicked and have to reload into a totally different lobby than you started in. That's almost 10-15 minutes of doing nothing when you should be playing. And that's just one example.

 

Yes, I think it could be designed better. If you like the loading than I think your the only one but that's your opinion and your entitled to it.

I can only speak for myself but.. I want a NO .. option black screen.

 

 

NO.. i don't want to load back to single player. "Try again".

 

NO... I don't want to reload back into another lobby "Try again"

 

And make it unlimited.

 

That alone would remove alot of uneeded load sceens.

I think the on call system would be fine if it could be customized in a way, like type of capture, slipstream on or off, custom jobs and the like. I never use on call because it's mostly crap games that your loaded into. Maybe some kind of open job list where I could pick from the jobs I wanted to get into.

 

I think the idea of on call should be used for all jobs. You should be in free roam until your job fills up, and you can launch it from free mode, then it can load when everyone is "ready up", or when everyone reaches a particular place on the map for the job to start.

 

Another thing I would definitely do is change the way jobs are picked after you are finished with a job. There is a good chance that you don't want to play any of the 12 jobs offered after a job, and are forced to load back into Freeroam to start another job and the process starts over again. Maybe have the pause menu job list for the host to choose from after a job.

 

I don't have all the answers but I believe Rockstar hears our complaints, and if they want to, they can fix it in a future title.
