Gnocchi Flip Flops
Every time I click on this forum on my phone or laptop now there's something that comes up with three dots that says it's checking my browser for something before loading the forum. it's pretty annoying tbh. Gnocchi Flip Flops
Well it keeps doing it every time I leave GTAF and come back and it even said site can't be reached a few times. And I'm using uni wifi because I don't have a ton of data but on uni wifi it takes for freaking ever. Gnocchi Flip Flops
I'm finding it does it every single time I move to a new page on wifi. That's great. Really I don't have the patience for that in class so I have to use 4g now...
Osho
Trying to load the site since past few hours. It doesn't load even after 5 seconds. The error remains for an indefinite period before randomly getting access to the site, and after opening a page or two, again the error message shows up! Please look into the issues. Gnocchi Flip Flops
Yeah it's annoying. Just tried it on school wifi again and it just keeps reloading every 5 seconds. On home wifi it takes about 5 buts it's still interrupting. 4g seems to be the fastest but i don't have much of it. Happens on laptop too  I'm probably being a real pita right now lol sorry Edited October 31, 2016 by Scaglietti
uNi
Is it still happening? I'm having no issues accessing the site trhough a really bad 3g connection. Â Â

dewtech
I got it first time I connected this afternoon but haven't had it since. Â The site was off again this morning so it appears it's to do with that.
Solution Kirsty Posted October 31, 2016 Solution Share Posted October 31, 2016 I'm assuming it is just a temporary precaution enforced by CloudFlare as we had an attack this morning. Â I've only had the check once so far per device, i.e. I had it this morning on my phone but it hasn't come up again since, so it's likely that every time you try to connect the forums with a different IP (which you are according to the posts in this topic) then it's being cross-checked again each time and you're kinda stuck in a loop, especially if you're using something like a public college network. Â I'm not sure when/if it will be removed, but like I said it's just for precaution right now, at least the forums are up! Osho
Still happening. The DDoS message has completely blocked access to the site. I've two browsers on Windows phone - UC Browser, and - the default; IE. I always UC, but the process of automatic redirection after 5 seconds doesn't happen and simply loads, "Oh it seems an error occured - Reload" page and even after repeated reloads the site still remains inaccessible. Â Right now, I've to rely on IE where the process of redirection happens, at least, at random, if not every time on reload. So the problem still persists. DDoS has happened on UC in the past as well, and after reporting to the forum support, this problem gets resolved quickly.
dewtech
That cloudfare is a little daft really, when the forum won't load it gives you an older version of the site, which really isn't that useful in something dynamic like a message board gajrajgchouhan
MCMXCII
Assuming it was an actual person and not some bot, who had their jimmies rustled to the point that they felt they had to DDoS a public forum website, let alone GTAF? That's just childish behavior on their part for them to do that. Gnocchi Flip Flops
_Tacts
The check has rendered the website unusable for its intended purpose on mobile. Upon submitting a post (using either method) I'm immediately redirected to the check and taken back to the homepage, while the post is not submitted. After several attempts I just gave up using the site on my mobile. Â Anyone else suffering the same issue? Osho
@ Tacts_21 Same here bro. Status check: Still receiving "DDoS protection by CloudFlare" message on UC with redirection attempts failing to reload. No access. Â I.E does not load the site immediately either, taking a lot of retries consuming more time after every attempts to load the site. Â Assuming it was an actual person and not some bot, who had their jimmies rustled to the point that they felt they had to DDoS a public forum website, let alone GTAF?Could this attack be related to Is the internet working? MCMXCII
That's interesting. I wonder who's causing the attacks.
Tank
I appreciate that the interstitial page is annoying, but it's much better than the only alternative we have - which is letting the attack take down the forums completely. (Bad Gateway errors) Â To put the size of this attack in perspective, we had 33 million requests to handle within a couple of hours, or almost 5,000 per second. Each of those requests query the database multiple times, so there's no way we could ride the attack out without help from CloudFlare. Â We've relaxed the filtering for now so most people won't need to have their browser checked. Â TLDR; Hail CloudFlare, our saviours. Amen.
