One could argue that the GTAO's "endgame" is to acquire as much money and/or in-game possessions as possible. You're tasked with going from a no-name lowlife to the king of the city. Money is king. The more money you have, the more you can purchase. In-game money allows you to purchase gaudy displays of wealth like yachts and golden jets. Or businesses that reward you for investing money with even more money. Or weaponry that will allow you to control, defend, or terrorize the populace of Los Santos across land, sea, and air. It's fairly safe to say that the more money you have, the more options you have.

It's not difficult to make millions in GTAO, and with several million dollars, you're fairly well-off. But having billions... There are no holds barred. You have unlimited access to all vehicles, properties, weapons, abilities, MC supplies, and pretty much anything else you can imagine in-game. R*'s Shark cards are polarizing as they allow you to buy a leg up in the game. Or buy your way to the very top if your pockets are deep enough. How many Shark card billionaires do we have out there?

Yeah also under a million should be an option, I bought a 500k and a 100k.

100k on what was supposed to be my last day in my one month sentence to the cheater pool for being given money, but I was given another month for some reason.

500k near start of current gen.

Only bought it once. Several days after launch. The $500,000 one.

Not directed at OP but you have to be a serious Rockstar brown noser to have billions through shark cards, brown nosing so hard that your nose is f*cking crusty from all that dried up sh*t.

I bought ONE.

I'd just gotten back from Vacation and didn't have any money to buy the Independence Day stuff in the very first year. They said it'd go half way into July and it was already the 13th. Figuring I had no time to farm I bought the cheapest one and got the two vehicles. Then managed to farm enough for the clothes.

Was so disappointed it went on until almost August...... liars. I was desperate too as I didn't know if it'd return next Independence Day or not

Didn't need to buy a shark card since. I've always had a few million stashed away in savings in case of limited time stuff. And with 40 million in the bank from CEO/Biker stuff, I probably will never have money problems as most new vehicles don't appeal to me that much.

Does the pre-purchase bonus count? I mean, when I (FINALLY) got the PC version I had at least an extra million when I started out.

Clearing out my old PSN account before transferring my character from PS3 to PC gave me some nice starting cash, and a while later I bought another card during one of those bonus cash weeks. Nowadays with CEO and MC stuff money flows so quickly that cash cards do not work for me anymore. Too little bang for the buck when compared to what I can earn ingame.

Well, IMO it has always been that GTA $ is worth almost nothing and the real value is in awards, rewards, etc. I'd say the endgame achievement is all weapon tints, Heist Elite Challenges, Criminal Mastermind... Well, if you want to be a complete player, a bit of all of those.

Who buys more than a billion in shark cards?

That's 1600 dollars worth of shark cards.

PS the billion in the 500+ cat. is spelled wrong.

Just cast my vote...

I have bought between $1 and $10 million worth of Shark Cards, all for my son.

I do not see why buying a Shark Card is looked down on so much on this forum, micro-transactions are part and parcel of modern day gaming... if you don't want to pay for your DLC's that is.

But I suppose if you can't warrant splashing the cash then hell yeah, grind missions instead. :)

^^ Nearly word-for-word what @JuniorChubb said, except I have bought for both my son and myself.

I bought a few (2-3?) Shark Cards early on, back in the XB360 days. I will say that I was a notorious grinder, spending all my in-game time "working."

I wasn't enjoying the game the way I really wanted to, and I was doing it for both my account and my son's, so he'd have more money (he grinds, too, but he doesn't win races).

So, the Shark Cards allowed us both to gain access to things in the game we really wanted to try, and I have no regrets.

I work hard enough in my real life to spend a bit extra on my leisure/entertainment time.

Just saying is all. :)

I'm not sure how to answer

I bought two.

One was a $5 card that I used as a contest prize.

The other was a single purchase that Rockstar are added more money than they were supposed to. Do I vote what I intended to get or what I actually got?

Also, if the poll was anonymous OP might get more "Yep" votes as some people are too self-conscience to admit doing what is generally so unpopular.

I haven't purchased any Shark Cards because to be honest, I don't really need them. I'm happy with my 62,5 million that I worked hard to earn :p

I haven't bought any and nor will I. When you can easily split a lobby and grind crates solo for risk free money what's the point.

Couple of weeks ago I started saving up for a yacht, 2 weekends of crate grinding got me to 8 million just as they went on sale so I bagged a fully loaded Aquarius. This weekend I wanted to get the two halloween cars so I filled up a large & medium warehouse over the course of a Saturday and bought/upgraded them with the proceeds. Easy peasy as long as you have a bit of patience. :)

Anybody who buys microtransactions for the same amount of money he spent on the base game or more is a moron with no financial skills.

Nope, not at this price/GTA$ ratio it's not happening.

lol $100 for 8 million, in a game where 8 million gets you a few cars/a yacht/a decent CEO/MC setup.

The game was $60 on release. $100 for a shark card should make me rich enough to go from release until they stop making DLCs without worrying about money for even a moment. But hey, the fact that they kept the prices the same for so long can mean only one thing: It's working. It's selling. It's making them profit. There's enough people out there who think $100 for yacht money is a great value.

More power to you, people. If you think spending $300 to get a yacht, a gold jet and a gold helicopter is a reasonable investment, fair enough. R* has some shark cards to sell you.

If I could get something like 4 or 5 million for $10, and I had no money for something that was just released... and I really wanted it, RIGHT NOW... I might buy one then. But wait, $10 gets you $500k lmfao even if I were totally broke and wanted to buy a cash card to afford a Lurcher or Franken Stange because they were about to disappear... $10 wouldn't get me even that far :whistle:Some of these cards, it'd take me longer to buy the card than to earn the cash in game in an invite only session :bored:

I guess I can't complain that much, since some part of that money probably funded some of the DLCs we got. Still, $10 for 500k... lmao :^:

One, last year, a couple of months after I started. I bought it during the sale on humane labs heist vehicles, so I got better than average value. In hindsight, it wasn't needed, as I didn't know how much I would being in during 2x Pacific standard, but oh well. I barely spend money in game as it is these days, so I don't see another shark card purchase happening.

PS the billion in the 500+ cat. is spelled wrong.

Curious to how you came up its the cost of $1,600.

The 8 million dollar shark card cost $100 so $1,600 worth only buys 16 which would be 128 millions GTA dollars which is far short of a billion.

The actual amount it would cost you is $12,500 or 125 $100 shark cards. Now if we are talking about buying them during a 50% off sale then it would be a steal at only $6,250

Just to put that cost into perspective you could buy a billion dollars worth of shark cards or you could buy this on eBay.
