why stunt races craze

right now when you head onto a race icon. you'll get 100 % stunt stuff. my question is why?. traditionnal races are as cool as stunt races, plus you can choose cars categories which is cool. R*, pls adress this

Stunt races pretty much killed racing for me in GTA O.. Well public races anyways.

 

Its f*ckin hot wheel stunt racing now.. And for me, its totally out of place in GTA.

I love the stunt racers and this is coming from a guy who enjoyed normal racing. Should be able to join the one you want to join though and not be forced into one or the other. Although I think this is because the selection is dragged from what is happening? more stunt racers being started than normal races maybe?

If there are mostly stunt races being hosted, it's because that's what people (on average) like to play. That can't be helped if you are not into stunt races, unless the player base changes.

 

If you search for a standard race and get put in a stunt race though, that's just a bad matchmaking system, and that's R*s fault. Same applies to searching for contact missions and getting vs. mission instead, or anything similar.

People used to (and maybe still do) build aerial circuits with wallrides and other jumps and stuff with given props and to be honest it was a pain in the ass. Rockstar decided to allow creators to create their races much easier and with props designed specially for them.

 

Rockstar had to limit what vehicle classes could be used in their stunt races because certain parts wouldn't be able to be done with slower (or faster) vehicles. Or they did it for variety.

I loved stunt races until they became a troll fest. Not including passive was silly. Sure we all liked to careen about in a stunt race but so in my last half a dozen races (a couple of months back) i only saw trolls. So I quit them.

Shame about normal races though. I really liked designing tracks.

I thought all the excitement died down in July and august for Rockstar and other players, i was dead wrong. The only good thing i enjoyed from the stunt update was the cars and the clothing, a few races were pretty cool though.

The props make racing more fun. The regular racing is too stale, they haven't even made/R* verified regular ones in years!

I think Stunt races pay more than regular races too, so that might have something to do with it as well.

of course it's the most played. nobody knows you need to open cellphone to access normal races. and if so then at the race end you have no choice than to choose a stunt in 75% of the cases. this is all my post was about. i like stunt races but why not mixing stunt and normal races so we can change when we want. normal races offer more variety. we can do the same race with small cars, high ends cars, bikes. stunt races, because of their configuration are most of the time opened to high end cars only

The OP is right about one thing, if a player wants to do a traditional race, he should be able to choose that and not worry about being thrown into a stunt race. That being said, I love the stunt races!

 

One person mentioned the trolling...I'm assuming he meant players trying to ram others off the track. Its really no worse than it was with regular races, plus they finally added non-contact as an option. I just wish more hosts would utilize this.

 

One complaint from the OP I don't agree with is the lack of vehicle class options. The reason for this is simple, tracks were designed for a specific type of car. Could you imagine doing Maze Bank Accent, or City Air with a super car? You'd have to break before every little jump to avoid over-jumping the track. Opposite is true for some of the super car tracks.

the kind of trolling you're describing is double cutting edged. how many times i saw people that tried to push others, and finally it's them who finished in the background. that kind of behavior is pretty rare. to be honest i never saw it so far. a really bad minded dude

i'm taking of more vehicles class options for normal races. it's pretty obvious this can't apply to stunts

Stunt races are fun once in a while, but pretty soulless compared to ground races, IMO.

 

To do a good set of races these days, you need to gather a group of friends and do a playlist. Racers have created a lot of fantastic ground races using the new props.

This been a issue ever since contact mission replay was removed.

They did it on purpose just like when you do missions it puts up stupid capture missions.

I must admit I went nuts for the stunt races when they came out but I went off them a bit. I think I'd enjoy trying the good user made tracks but I'm too lazy to find them.

They seem to have created an imbalance where the polling screen to select the next race following a normal race may contain stunt race selections, but the polling screen following a stunt race contains only stunt races as options. So, if a stunt race is ever selected at the polling screen from a normal race, that series is forever stuck on stunt races from there on out.

Yeah, I wish Dom would quit sending invites. I havent tried all the player created races, but the few I tried were most annoying. I find stunt racing boring and they suffer from much of the same things that make GTA racing crappy in general. Such as laggy players glitching all over the track, other players intentionally ramming, and no win for 2nd or 3rd in more than 5 person races. The person that wins normally doesnt get caught in the pile up at beginning. If R star wanted to make GTA racing more like Mario Cart add a faster restart/respawn and blue shells, mushrooms, basically better pickups.
