PC version with CryENB v3 and HQ Metallic Car Paint mod. That's the best you can get while retaining that vanilla look.

That grafik you get using mods man. It's not original.

Yeah but still has to be mentioned. Nothing beats IV graphics on PC with a good ENB. Even without it, the PC version still has the best graphics.

Pc, always. A pc will always win to any console, thats why the companies are trying to make consoles like a pc

To be fair, that's also why PC is trying to be like consoles (Steam, GOG, Origin, etc).

Pc, without a doubt. 360 come in second place and I play gta iv on PS3, and without some changes on the display setting the game is too dark, blurry and clumsy, tbh. Tips : for console user that want their gta iv looks like low end graphics enhancer on pc, put brightness, contrast and saturation to the max, and the game looks much much better :)

Xbox One has the best graphics for a game not playable on that system.

GTA IV is now playable on Xbox ONE. Wait N Watch. It might be available soon for PS4.

PC no doubt. I personally never liked ENB. I usually play with the color fix mod (removes the piss filter) @4K. It's gorgeous. PS3 version will always be special to me though.

Mister Pink

PC, Xbox and then PS.

Its really soft and washed out looking on PS3. On Xbox the lines are sharper and it looks crisper.

Having said that if you were playing on PS3 at the time its not something too noticeable at all and some people actually prefer it.

I dont get hung up in graphics and if one platform has a slight graphical improvement, it doesnt get me down. Im happy with what Im used to.

I wasnt taking in to account Xbox One. I might actually put Xbox One after PC

Spot on analysis.

Before recently playing IV on the PC, I only played it on the PS3, as that's the only console I had in the last-gen. It does look better on the 360, but the PS3 version wasn't bad, it was still good enough for its time. It still looked very good at certain times of the day in the game, and at other times, looked washed out. It wasn't bad, it was still overall good enough to immerse you in the game. I actually didn't mind the 'warmer look' or whatever it was.

But the PC version is best, well with ENB anyway.

i swear, building a computer changed me. i used to not mind the framerate of IV on the PS3 but when i go back to playing it, it feels like i am playing at 20 fps.

Same here. I played IV on my PS3 just to try it and see how it feels as a PC GTA player - the graphics and framerate looked so substandard that it did feel like 20fps.

GTA at 60fps really adds to the game, it feels like it's performance is massively boosted with a dose of steroids !!

You know, our eye captures 16 Frames Per Second in order to form an image. We see almost 25 Frames Per Second in a video, which is totally unnecessary. So how come 60 FPS adds to the game?

RDR ran equally fine on both the PS3 and 360, despite the lies spread on online media that PS3 version so clearly inferior (that I nearly believed before getting it on my PS3). In fact, I saw both versions side by side and I still personally preferred the PS3 version, not because it ran better, I just preferred it's look and palette. The reviews said both versions were fine too.

As for RDR ? They were both good, the attacks on the PS3 version was fanboy propaganda, I've seen both they are both good. As for V ? It was shown in media comparisons that the PS3 version was better.

Yeah... No. Just no.

Of Course, I'm damn serious. 16+ FPS are just unnecessary at every field, everywhere else.

Bro just get a powerful enough gaming PC and play GTA on it to see for yourself, and you will see what I mean. It just makes the world in GTA feel more real in atmosphere, looks and motion. It also makes the graphics ultra smooth with so much refinement. Just walking around the city in 60fps will have you in total awe.

As for your comparison to the human eye's capture of frames per second, I can't get into that I don't know about all that. All I know it's not relevant to playing GTA at 60fps and it will not stop you from seeing or playing GTA in 60fps.

GTA V was better on the PS3, that was clear cut from the start.

IMO the PS3 version of RDR had a more gritty look to it whilst the 360 version looked a bit sharper. Even though I played it more on 360/XB1 (just like with GTA IV) there was nothing wrong with how the PS3 version looked.

I just preferred the PS3 version of RDR, it just looked and felt a bit more realistic to my taste than the 360 version, which looked a bit too sharp and brightly coloured to me. But that's just my personal taste. Apart from a few distinct differences, they for most part identical and both looked great.

The only thing I will admit is that the 360 version of IV looked slightly better, but the PS3 version was still good enough, it wasn't bad at all, it was good enough for me anyway.

In truth the differences are so small you'd most likely never notice them unless you played them at the same time. Console wars are so 2006.

My 2 boys have a XBOX360 and a PS3 so i often get the chance to see the game running on both side by side, id say on console it looks better on 360, but as i play it on PC i know it looks the best on PC, and i dont use mods.

A powerful enough gaming PC will render console wars pointless. Seriously you start thinking, this is not even in my league when you get a decent gaming rig lol

I think I will get a PS4 Pro for RDR 2 though. I really want the best out of that game, 60fps, all of that. I might sell my PS4 later this year to assist with that.

I have a Pro and you won't regret buying it. TLOU will also be great on it and I suggest you try out Horizon Zero Dawn. It's like a futuristic RDR.

I'm gonna get a PS4 Pro for RDR2 because I have a feeling it wont be on PC like the previous RDR. And the Pro will be using 60fps for optimized games too.

@ Official General.

As I said earlier, I've competed GTA IV a couple of times on PC. The game ran as cool as cheesespread on bread.

Honestly, FPS doesn't matter. It's all the magic of Textures, which do matter. Xbox 360 & PS3 Versions are the Old-Gen ones of GTA IV bro. PC Version was released later. Still, after playing the 360 one, I found various Shadow Textures, which are xtremely grained in PC versions, look better. The water textures are also better. It's also proved that 360 has a better performance of IV than PS3.

I never said the vanilla PC version was bad. It's good, but it's not that great for it being a PC port, it should have been much better, it just looks a bit cleaner and sharper than the console versions, nothing special. That's why the ENB mods are so popular and widely used on PC because they brilliantly improve the graphics utilising the heavy power of the graphics cards. FPS matters to many GTA gamers because that's why many play the games on gaming PCs to experience the graphical horsepower in advanced FPS. You cannot dismiss it and say it don't matter because to many it does and now I see why as a new PC gamer. If you don't care for advanced tech in PC gaming that's fine, but don't be ridiculous in trying to play down its importance in imrpoving the gameplay experience of games like GTA.

I don't wanna sound snobbish but once I played IV on PC with a good ENB discussing which console version of IV is better becomes a very pointless exercise and a ridiculous thing to even have time for. But I already said the 360 version of IV was slightly better than the 360 version so why are you brining that up again ?

The PS3 version of RDR was just fine, in fact it looked brilliant, I preferred it to the 360 version personally. My opinion is not gonna change so don't beat a dead horse.

So basically: 'I'm not gonna watch a video that informs me I'm wrong' or 'I watched the video, I was wrong, not gonna admit it though'

Anyway. Great, I own both as well. So what? People have tested both versions to hell and back, and these are just some of the facts about the PS3 version:

- Lower average framerate, usually 3 to 5 FPS lower compared to the X360 (which is pretty huge for a 30 FPS game, and it makes the game feel pretty unstable at times)

- Lower resolution, 1152x640 compared to 1280×720 on X360

- Aggresive post-processing filter, makes the game look even more blurry

- Lower quality alpha effects (water/smoke/fire)

- Less foliage in the distance

But yeah, the PS3 version is still better and I'm beating a dead horse. Sure. Ignorance is bliss.

IMO the PS3 version of RDR had a more gritty look to it whilst the 360 version looked a bit sharper. Even though I played it more on 360/XB1 (just like with GTA IV) there was nothing wrong with how the PS3 version looked.

Look, I'm not saying the PS3 version is sh*t, it's not. It just looks and runs worse. Can't really change the facts.

In truth the differences are so small you'd most likely never notice them unless you played them at the same time. Console wars are so 2006.

Not really. I mean just look at the list, the framerate alone makes a pretty big difference.

Bro, if this was 2006 - 2010 at a time when the PS3 was the only console I owned, and the console wars of the first HD-generation were the rage among online gaming site users, I might have cared. If we had this discussion back then, we'd be in a right tussle for sure. Either way, I was very happy with the Rockstar games I played on my PS3, GTA IV & V, RDR and Max Payne 3 for their times - I had a blast with them all. If you think a few more pixels made all the difference to you in the world with your 360 compared to my PS3 then fine, good for you. I really just don't care about console wars man, my gaming standards are now way too advanced to entertain them. Mock my opinion, make fun of it, parody or satire it, makes no difference to me as my opinion stays the same.

We are in 2017, and I own a very powerful gaming PC, I don't even need to overclock it to get maximum graphic settings at 60fps, it does it effortlessly and puts my gameplay experience in that surreal zone you don't wanna leave. And I still got a PS4, and I still got my PS3. Console wars are completely redundant for me at this point in my gaming life
