With half of the cars locked behind another character, organizing your garages is impossible.

I feel like "impossible" is a pretty strong word here.

Tedious, is more like it. Through extensive planning, I've kept all the cars unique between my two characters save for three that overlap, not counting aircraft or special vehicles.

Selling from one character and using the income from that to partially source the same or another purchase for the other has gifted my male character with a Mamba, and then back to my main, more than once (along with plenty of other cars moved between them). It's a net loss, and it's more trouble than it's worth in my opinion, but it's absolutely possible.

The only concern otherwise is between accounts, but if you can get your hands on a second console, and you aren't afraid to play a little dirty, you can certainly gift your alt a car.

I did just that in the past, when we could only own 3 propertys. It was pure horsesh*t.

Wanna drive sultan? Switch do female. Wanna drive Vacca? Switch to male. Wanna drige fenderless Akuma? Switch to female.

You cant fully modify the vehicles because your second charater does nkt have the needed level (if you created him before they gave you the option to start with a up to level 120 char).

I were so happy when we got property 4 and 5.

Putting stuff i cant park on my main on my second char will never be an option again.

I don't disagree with any of this really. But as you showed, it can be tedious, and with my collection here, I'll definitely be taking huge losses to move any one of my smaller groups over too, lol. A good option for those keen here.

 

Me, I'm aiming for other things with this character still too much though, so it's no ideal for me. I created a 2nd character too, just completely felt lost there, bored to do things again too. This game is vast enough for me with one character, lol. Also, as my sessions are very varied, I just don't know what I'll need next, lol. I could be on heists, missions, freemode, racing in various types of race, to keep flicking character every time I fancied doing a certain job knowing my toys for them are elsewhere will see me just get fed up TBH.

 

Also, R* went public and told us to do exactly this... Only to release a 60 car showroom to our offices literally months later.

I know it's not directly related to storage space, but I think a nice change regarding multiple characters would be the ability to select a garage to share between them. Say if you own the same property location, you can make those cars available between both characters and make it easier to do the kinds of things that I do.

 

If you pulled a car out of that garage and tried to store it in one that is not mutually owned, the game would ask you if you're sure, and accepting the alert would place the car in whatever property you've moved it to, rendering it unavailable to the other character. Approaching the mutual property would bring up the "Buzz Garage" prompt, allowing characters to enter either their own instance of the garage or the one belonging to the other character slot.

 

If Rockstar wanted to be greedy about it or what have you, they could charge a small fee every time you move a car out of a mutual garage to store it someplace else.

 

Of course, there would be exploits and dupes, but there is with everything new for a while.

Another option would be to add the other character as a phone contact. You could call him like the mechanic and a garage menu, showing all your other characters garages, would pop up.

That would also enable the option to transfer cars between character because you could drive the called car to a garage of the character your currently using and store it in there removing it from your other characters garage.

As I suggested some time ago, if they go full greedy, just charge millions for the ability to share vehicles between characters. I don't mind.

 

These options would make people "lose" more money than the fuggin "sell at 60% loss to make room for another car". But as R*F stated, they seem to not understand why people claim for more storage (despite the fact more cars are added with each update)

I also have to say i don't really care how they give us more space. There are loads of options i would very gladly take:

 

- add new garages/showrooms

- let us buy more properties

- add invisible storage room to existing properties (like the hangar has)

- Let us call in cars from our 2nd character.

- let us move cars between characters freely

- Let us move cars we own to a pegasus-type delivery service.

Judging R* for its current practices, I dont think well ever see the propriety cap removed. I dont even see them adding more proprieties to the cap. I believe that the only way we are getting more garage space at this point is with some new and very expensive propriety, like mansions or such. Regular garages are way too cheap for todays standards, of course I want to be able to buy more proprieties (and maybe own one of each kind, that would be nice) but I really dont see it happening simply because of the direction this game took. I would love to be wrong though

You're probably right, but while buying a bunch of additional appartments may not be expensive, we would still need to buy the cars to put in them, so in the end a lot of money will still be spent.

I'm gonna bump this. I know it's something a few care about (and that many just don't get it/care - Fair play mind). With a DLC close, you never know when they test/create this sh*t, they might just seek an easy crowd pleaser in there. Might be more to join the quest here, lol.

 

Don't ask much of DLC and aside my preference for more options, I take what comes pleased it indeed does come to the game. But this is my 'Hunter/Dominator classic' thing. After looking into the crew colours too of late, I'm dying here to have more than one of so many cars.

 

Yeah, did myself no favours there, lol.

 

To be fair though, I certainly don't want more added to new content that pesters players that opt out. I feel they should address that, but the easy win here IMHO is to allow more of what exists as then folks will be free to choose here.

I am glad I have not been able to buy a car. Because when they give more space, i will be able to go nuts..I almost broke down and started using my second character for car hording. It takes more restraint than you think. Cant understand why they didnt make enough slots in the facility to add all weaponized vehicles. They will add more space at some point. I mean 20 spaces should be the new default number. Bikes, facility, bunker, all wasted parking/showroom space.

They need to release an equal number of garage spaces and cars in the next update, or at least close to it. I cant do another 25+ car update with no additional space. Thatll probably be the end of GTA for me

same here but I have 0 spots and can't be totured into selling or removing any more, so no Sparrow for now. Enough is enough, as they say.

 

Silly question, why can't we have much more virtual spots like the storage spots in hangars? I've always said they should just let us virtually store many cars then just let us display 10 or whatever inisde the physical garages... but nooooo, they just keep slowly upping the limit of properties.

I'm really pleased this thread has been bumped, and i'm going to bump it a bit more...

 

Nothing demotivates me more than wanting to buy or store a different car and not being able to because I've already swapped out my collection so many times. I'm so tired of it. I was driving down the highway the other day when I suddenly realised that I didn't have any of the NPC cars on the road. I have probably owned all of them at some point or other, but I don't own any of them right now due to lack of garage space.

 

People who don't collect or sympathise with long-term GTA online players will not understand this viewpoint, but I've been doing the same thing over and over again four years and ever since my first 10-car garage became full and I had to replace something that I didn't really want in order to make room for a more expensive or desirable vehicle. I've been living this routine like Groundhog Day or Happy Death Day, and when the second ten-car garage was announced I quickly filled it up and had the same issue soon afterwards. One of the best moments in GTA online history was the launch of the 60-car showroom, but that also filled up after a couple of weeks, and the situation repeated all over again.

 

This is going to continue indefinitely I'm afraid and I don't think Rockstar will ever lift the property cap completely, so our only hope is that they give us another showroom or allow us to buy an extra aircraft hanger or another biker property. Or all of these. I collect everything. Cars, bikes, aircraft... you name it, but what demotivates me more than anything else is knowing that GTA online is not indefinite and endlessly expandable, but has this horrible storage cap that stops you from advancing and being free to do what you want. Earn money and harvest RP to your heart's desire, but ultimately there's nothing you can do with any of that.

I second the desire for more garage space. Ever since the Winter I've had to look to my secondary character to store new DLC vehicles. It hasn't been ideal for my existing strategy to organize vehicles and forces me to switch (back to the clouds) just to take advantage of a couple cars. It's also led me to outright replacing other cars (on either character) and that's getting old too.

 

I like the cars I have currently. More garage space would be very much appreciated.

Im you but when doomsday heist came out. I just about bought some of the new vehicles and then i was completely out of space. The super sport series update I havent even bothered to play yet because I just have no space to buy more vehicles which means ive lost interest in the game. Hopefully the next DLC will change that

Alongside adding the other GTA:O character you own as a garage space (for every vehicle, mind you. Includes EVERYTHING.), I think we should be able to buy a Pegasus vehicle once and own it on both characters. But no no no, Papa $elnick wants his Sherk Cerd monies.

 

F*ck, if I could program, I'd just add the other character as a full on AI companion. I've made a post about it before (a la Solo Update) but I'd rather have the character everywhere.

 

I can just imagine all the hilarity I can have with my buds by bringing my female character as my AI companion and just having us all jerk off in her face like a bunch of d*cks xD

My annoyance isn’t only with the property cap but also with how the current properties were chosen/set up. You’d think they would do a better job of spreading them out across the map, but no...they give us not one, not two, but THREE 2-car garages within one block of each other in Morningwood. There are hundreds of great stilt houses that could be used, most with better views and patios than what we have...yet we’re stuck with 4 of them in a row on Hillcrest. There are entire sections of the map with no garages. It’s annoying as hell.
