honestly, rockstar should make the next update with loads of new haristyles instead of clothes. Too often we keep seeing the same styles on players. There are so few good ones that people tend to wear the same thing.

...in all seriousness, those changes resulted in a bunch of hairstyles looking like a bad case of 'bed head', leaving virtually no tidy fashionable alternatives for folk who want the option. Adding the original versions back would only be a positive move, IMO - in fact, just give the old and new versions different names at Bob Mulét, have both in the game, and everyone's happy.

 

Still, really wouldn't hurt to have some alternatives, because hair and makeup options have gone sorely neglected over the years (and yet we get dozens of tattoos added with almost every update - R* priorities, eh? ). As people have pointed out, if R* really are adamant about clipping issues and thus no true long hairstyles, then they might as well do the practical alternative, and give us long tied styles, so that our characters can at least have some semblance of long hair.

 

Ponytail variations would be easy enough - heck, they sorta already gave us one, with the Lowriders: Custom Classics 'Rolled Quiff' style. Doesn't even need much more than change the front, and keep the actual ponytail at the back the same length as the current one - although I reckon something taller and more distinct from it, like this, would be perfect:

 

 

 

Maybe make it shorter at the back, so that it's no longer than any existing style (and thus there's no excuse for not adding it), but yeah, that's an example of something workable, fashionable, distinctive, and crucially, would work for all kinds of characters and outfit styles (as opposed to some of the more gimmicky and niche stuff that R* insists on adding, like the styles added with Bikers).
