The users saying that Rockstar are giving us everything for nothing are wrong. They're clearly getting something and have made more then $500 million alone in micro transactions Shark card sales. Keeping those peer to peer servers running is extremely cheap and costs next to nothing.

I know I wasn't. I got GTA V on launch for $16 and I got GTA V for the XB1 for $30. Plus, I've gotten a bonus online mode which has kept me entertained for 3+ years and in that time I've gotten 24 free DLC's.

As someone who has never done a money glitch I can tell you that 250K is not a tiny amount of money. Personally I'd be grateful for $2500 for free. Maybe money glitches have warped some people's perspective.

I can get that vibe. But, I see it as some small compensation for all the unknown network errors, all the days I've been unable to play because of their horrible lack of servers, the balance situation, etc. It's like "here's something small for sticking with us".

 

Big emphasis on the small though, but could be worse.

 

At any rate, I just don't care for the company enough to stop someone speaking their mind on it. Maybe when the game's in a better state of affairs I might.

Where did I display any indication of feeling entitled? If anything, my post read of gratitude.

 

And let me re-iterate, nobody forced you to buy the game BRAND NEW. You could of purchased used copies. You could of transferred with a friend on the PS4. You had options, but you chose to pay full price for the game each time. That wasn't R* choice, that was your's. So stop acting like a victim and own up to your decisions.

It's a Philosophy/Economics concept. Some might believe nothing is free and others might believe some things are. People might believe they're paying in other ways with things such as time, commitment, loyalty, share holding, critical mass to withhold a community (sociodynamics), etc.

 

No one mentioned any forced payment until you did. If you're suggesting people can't complain because no one forced them to buy anything then that would be wrong too.

 

There is no right and wrong answer. Only opinions. This is what most people fail to realise and begin to argue about. We're talking about something controversial.

Well free 250k is better then nothing but also not really a ton of money these days.

What i do not understand is that some people here act like it is something special or something that we would have to be gratefull for. I mean its not something that would cost them any effort to to and also the gta money has no real worth to them because the can generate as much gta dollars as they want. What i mean with that it does not cost them anything or they do not loose something if they give you free money, they will just keep on "printing" their virtual money.

There is a diffrenz between new content that they need to put effort into and that costs them money to be produced and a virtual currency that does not cost them anything. To be fair im also not gratefull for new content because they produce it to get money to pay their bills. What im gratefull for are new fun ideas who get turned into content because the could also just release new vehicles and still make money.

When I first read the title of the thread, I seriously thought the "really?" was meant as in positive way, like "really, we are going to get this large amount of money for free?" but I guess I was mistaken (again)

 

You can fill all your ammo or buy lot of upgrades for your new cars (in your 6th garage). tbh, I would've been really pleased to get just 25000 doing nothing.
