Mister Pink
Jason Swartzman, Zak Galifianakas, Ted Danson and written by Jonathan Ames. HBO production. I caught a few episodes of this when it originally aired but didn't see the whole thing. Now I just finished the first season and I love it. It's definitely not for everyone. It's not the best comedy I've watched and some jokes fall a little flat but on the whole it's really enjoyable, fresh and hilarious at times. Ted Danson's character is just the best..I love that it's set in New York and it's handy as the spisodes are only 30 minutes but the production value is that HBO quality. Pity it got cancelled after 3 seasons. There's been talk of a TV movie but not sure if that will happen. Voodoo 1 RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
Voodoo
I rolled through all three seasons last year and it's definitely worth a watch. Schwartzman's character has an enjoyably neurotic, Woody-esque quality and the neo-noir gumshoe private eye style of his detective exploits makes a great launching point for the crazy situations they get into. Galifianakis and Danson really steal the show, though. Also, John Hodgeman is hilarious as Schwartzman's nemesis. I'd recommend it. Yeah if you told me it was a about a modern day private dectective/neo-noir comedy I probably would have dismissed it before I watched it but it just works so well. The fact that it's some ad on Craigslist he's doing it by makes it that bit more realistic and humorous. I really think I've gone from disliking Swartzman to becoming an fan of his. I was always of fan of Danson but his character is golden. I love the consistency of his character and the characters in the show. They never seem to compromise character in favour of a joke which I find happens too often in TV. Character will do something really out of character to seemingly just fill a joke. Anyway.. would be happy if anyone has any more gems like this they want to recommend? RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
