I know getting kicked from a job lobby will get you bs points, I didn't think you get them for getting kicked from a freeroam session.

Really? I know that if you leave or get kicked from a playlist in progress, it warns you of bad sport points, but I didn't know this pertained to job lobbies in general.

That's ridiculous though; I primarily do jobs when I am in game, and I am often forced to go on-call unless I want to host myself. There have been days when I have received the "you have been kicked from the job" notification several times in a row. I've never been to bad sport or even become dodgy though.

I don't know why you expect this type of "courtesy" to work in this community, half of them are braindead morons who try to insult you in the worst form of grammar in existence while the other half says "this is gta, I can do what I want".

I don't really mind being kicked, it's just a bit insulting when you load into the next session and the game tells you to behave yourself when you've done nothing wrong.

To be honest, they need to make it so if you're kicked without killing anyone or destroying a PV you don't get this message and the kicker gets a bad sport alert instead. It is unsporting to kick someone who has every right as you do to be in the session.

Other players don't do me the courtesy of not blowing me up unprovoked at every opportunity so three years of that experience has fostered a 'f*ck 'em' attitude. I'm not going to bend over backwards to be polite when almost everybody else is an aggressive dickhead. Added to which I don't really care when I get kicked, it's a mild inconvenience at worst and if you can't take a few of those then I don't know how you could get on with GTAO long term.

I've got no issue with people wanting to do this stuff in a hassle free lobby, but you're the one who should move on in search of empty pastures if your once-quiet session starts filling up. Yes, more loading screens are an inconvenience but when it comes down to it, you're the one who wants to play the game other-than-as-intended and the truly courteous thing to do would be to suffer the inconvenience yourself rather than force it onto someone else with a smile.

Kicking someone in a public session for nearly any reason at all is impolite as f*ck. If they've already attacked crates or if they're using mods or whatever on PC, then fine. Kicking people before they've done a goddamn thing to you, or because they've shot at you and your crew has arbitrarily decided you "own" this session and you're too garbage at the game to kill them back, just shows your insecurity to be honest.

Clearly you haven't been in a session with us where my crew were owning them back then we kicked them. If that makes us meanies on a game then so f*cking be it, as long as we can get our sh*t done without having to watch our own backs. You seem a lil trigger happy yourself.

The part about moving to a new session, I do it all the time. The session had about 9 of us until we had jokers who thought they could get way with killing my friends.

I don't know if I've ever gone out of my way to kill a random in GTA Online. If someone wants to try and kill me, I just kill them first. It really isn't that hard. I mean really - if NINE of you are incapable of handling randoms in free roam, you probably should only play private sessions.

1 vote only isn't enough to kick. The message saying someone voted to kick gives the same opportunity for the player to leave. 1 BSP goes away in no time.

It needs to be 50% of the lobby. So from my understanding, if there is only two of us, I can kick you.

They are talking about in a job lobby, not freeroam.

I'm talking about FreeMode.

when I join a lobby with a couple players that seems like an "empty public" (I call it a "money-making lobby") I say something or leave if I want a populated one. That's the courteous thing to do when arriving in someone's lobby, I've never been kicked, after saying something I've been asked to leave though which is fine. Anyways, once you see the message that players are voting you have time to find a new session before it kicks you. The courtesy message is built-in IMO, no need to get personal or take it personally.

I'm not talking about the in-game, built in message. When I'm in a public lobby testing things (like how many supplies it takes to fully produce 1 bar of coke) I'll send you an in-game text message asking you to leave because we will kick you otherwise. This is what I mean by courtesy message.

Oh I just assumed. Many people like to run missions or races with the same small group of people, so that is what I thought he meant.

I know getting kicked from a job lobby will get you bs points, I didn't think you get them for getting kicked from a freeroam session.

If he is talking freemode then yeah I agree with you, the "You are being voted to get kicked" message is more than enough warning.

Often it's a buddy and me testing stuff in a lobby when this happens. So I personally send them a message so they have a chance to join a new lobby without the possibility of getting BS points.

I don't know why you expect this type of "courtesy" to work in this community, half of them are braindead morons who try to insult you in the worst form of grammar in existence while the other half says "this is gta, I can do what I want".

I completely understand that point of thinking as I used to have it as well. But I noticed with the introduction of the CEO update that I have a greater chance of running across non-hostile players. So I give people the benefit of the doubt. I half way expect them to be a dick, but I won't treat them like they are until they prove it.

I don't really mind being kicked, it's just a bit insulting when you load into the next session and the game tells you to behave yourself when you've done nothing wrong.

This isn't a debate about if you have rights in GTA or if kicking somebody out of a lobby is okay or not. There are already threads for that. This is just asking those who do vote kick others, to give them a heads up before doing so.

We were capable though, depsite being in the middle of a sale. My friends handled themselves but who they killed still deserved to get kicked for screwing around with us first.

There's two ways of getting rid of these jokers, kill them over and over until they leave or kick them.

In past sessions I did exactly that, just a friendly warning. Some were cool about it but others just pushed their luck.

If they did not stack things so heavily against you with Biker and CEO content, people would actually be willing to do that stuff in public lobbies more. One of the Biker delivery missions for example has you driving these very bulky slow moving vans that are so sh*tty they cannot even properly go up any decent incline. They slow down to a snail's crawl on some hills, my dude can get out and run faster. Something that a simple sticky bomb or 1 pass from a hydra or savage away from exploding no less. Not only that but when reaching each spot I have to get out of the vehicle and physically put a box down at the location, making the truck a sitting duck for a good 5-8 seconds or so.

Yet Rockstar expects me to get this bulky piece of sh*t to all the delivery locations all over the map in one piece? I do not need to be a professional gambler to see just how rigged the odds are against me.

Even with a full crew of 5 its damn near impossible defending that slow moving death trap, yet Rockstar cannot figure out why people are only doing this stuff in solo sessions. If you give people an actual fighting chance then people would not be avoiding public lobbies to the extent that they are.

On an unrelated note, I wonder what type of CEO/Biker stuff Red Dead Redemption 2 will have and if we should kick players as well. Like they got a flying horse with miniguns on it or something.

Don't f*cking kick them, ask them if they're cool, if not, move along, desync or some sh*t.

More often than not, the one other dude in the lobby is going to want to move crates, same as you. Not only can you coexist, you can have another helping hand for when XxX_SergeantFrosty_XxX from the [FAZE] crew shows up and gets in the Hydra.

Wait, really? I must have missed something.

I never said whether it was okay or not, I was posing an alternative to removing people from your lobby, so that you can have someone else on hand to remove problematic people from the lobby when it starts filling up, as opposed to messaging some rando and potentially making an enemy out of asking them to leave before they're kicked.

I speak from experience, and it's been said in this thread already, but there's plenty of ways to avoid being kicked for long enough to ruin someone else's fun, should they decide to try and remove you from the game for no adequate reason.

Well look, there is nothing wrong if somebody attack you with a real reason during freeroams, lets say defending objectives, or destroying cargos because its actually a reason.

Problem is when some people just get on you so bad they chase you down the earth only to kill you for more without any real reasons. Basically, griefing.

Now those people i tend to kick n warn them to behave - Quite a pests.

This is stupid and unfair, ANYONE should be welcomed in public lobbies if that's what they f*cking are!

Why instead of kicking somebody you just don't get your MTU set to 800? That way you don't have to be a dick about kicking others and don't give innocent players bad sports points.

No, this is actually a thread where you pontificate and demand people show courtesy before they bounce you out of a lobby for being a jerk.

It actually belongs in the B!tch & Moan thread, but the moderators let it go.

Frankly, it's quite discourteous to lecture and dictate in-game protocol to an entire forum of players. Many may not see things your way.

It sounds to me like you kinda got butthurt and want, in the future, other players to explain themselves for butthurting you.

And for the record, I've been kicked with messages telling me to "join us or we'll kick you," and I just laugh when I'm booted.

I don't usually hold onto it for days.

Just sayin. Accept being kicked and stop whining, please.

I'm glad you know me so well.

Now let me explain why I created this thread. Because I kick people out of lobbies to keep them empty. I decided to start sending messages to people, giving them a chance to leave before we vote kicked them. And I decided that maybe I could share this idea with others and encourage them to do the same thing.

But thank you again for knowing me as well as you do and telling me my reasoning behind this threads creation.

Now go back to cracking the game files and letting sh*tty youtubers take credit for your work.

I'm not here to debate whether kicking somebody from a lobby is okay or not.

But if you are going to kick somebody, have the courtesy of sending them a message before you do. This gives them a chance to leave on their own accord and prevents them from getting Bad Sport points for doing nothing wrong.

Something along the lines of "Please switch sessions so you don't get kicked" should work.

Again, this isn't about if kicking people is wrong or not, this is about showing a little courtesy if you are going to kick somebody to keep your lobby empty.

Whats the point? Getting kicked.. means getting kicked. Its nothing personal.

I never send any messages to players if i kick them. Just as i don't expect any msgs from others if they kick me. GTA is not really a game known for nice players saying or doing nice things. So i don't intend to send msgs to players.. as i don't expect the same in return. Just get it over with..

Some people seem to take it personally.. and some don't. I don't..

Well.. i can put it like this. Im friendly in free roam. but im always looking for trouble. Im a shoot last, laugh last type of player.

Now if some random sent me a msg saying "Hes gonna kick me so leave' Id probably not leave.. and try to screw with them as much as i can before getting kicked.

In my case. You're better off not saying a thing and kicking me. Just leaving it out there.

It's a way of getting them to leave the lobby without A) them getting bad sport points and B) not having to use my vote. Which means I can use my vote for a problematic player.

In most cases my buddy already has his vote in and just needs my vote to kick them. But this is why I send the message. Most of the time they leave before they get kicked. Those who don't, usually end up kicked before they reach us.

But let me be clear, I'm not demanding anything out of anybody. I know this community has a "screw everybody" mentality. I'm just offering a suggestion to those who want to take it.
