Stunt Races - anyone else hate them?

I swear it seems as though it's all that people play lately. If I'm coming out of a mission or normal race and a stunt race appears in the next job window (the one where you can replay, refresh, freemode etc) you can bet the featured stunt race will get the majority vote; I hate them.

 

What's worse is that when you're coming from freemode and you choose (via your phone) to enter a random race. I think it's about time Rockstar offered two options in that menu; normal race, or stunt race. If they really want to take it further, they can offer up the option(s) of GTA race, Ghost race, Rally race, normal race & stunt race too.

 

I get there's an appeal for stunt races, and despite my dislike for them, I've raced on a few good tracks that have been made through them (actual tracks, few cylinders, obstacles or stunts), but they are few and far between.

I generally don't mind them, as long as they're well put together. I despise the hacked BS ones with ufos and ferris wheels and sh*t. Also ones made by someone that just throws a bunch of crap together and calls it a race. But if someone actually takes the time to make it navigable with a nice flow, I tend to enjoy them.

I don't like them because I love normal land races and no one wants to play them anymore unless its 2x$GTA

 

Also my poor connection struggles with stunt races, when I lag others will just skip ahead. I've won once only because everyone else lagged out otherwise it's impossible for me.

i love them, but since the re7b isn't that great... i see xproto80 getting the fastest slaps? is this true, can a racer confirm? do i need to ui ui ui money out for this car? i dont find it very sparkly.

One problem is there's a lot of user-made races I like which make use of some of the new props but aren't actually stunt races, yet are classified as such by default.

 

I do much prefer more traditional racing circuits and street races over stunt races, but seeing as a lot of the best traditional circuits and street courses are now classified as stunt races anyway, I don't see that there's a lot R* can do.

usually I m not a big fan of the Stunt races or stunt games like Trackmania , but these stunt races in GTA are SPOT ON ! I really love them , including the bike races ! they are really challenging

most of the stunt races have really nice corners where you have to put your driving skills to use....

GTA Stunt races >>> trackmania imo

that beeing said, R* needs to work on some GTA Physics though.... I usually hit invisible obstacles during those races....

I would recommend the X80 Proto now as the go-to car for stunt racing.

I f*ckin hate Stunt races with a passion. Stunt races basically ruined public GTA O racing from me.

RE7B is still the king, imo. The traction is insane and if you know how to abuse the curbs than 95% off all X80-owners will yell cheater at you and eventually ragequit (or kick you from the lobby ...).

It not the races I hate, its the way they are put together. The R* ones are just as bad as the user created ones at times... Don't you just love an immovable sign posts on the track

Track pieces aside, Rockstar could modify some of the props so that they aren't linked to the stunt races. I've love to use some of the tyre walls and such but I can't because I don't want to make stunt races.

I hate any race which isn't the tractor race. No other race has come close to the joy and frustration of that beauty.

I think the best thing to come from stunt races are the props (proper corner kerbs etc) being used in normal races on the ground to smooth things out and make "proper" tracks.

 

Stunt races will all the big jumps and stuff are okay, but its a bit of a lottery who wins, one small mistake means you fall off the track, have to respawn and your race is done.

love them, I drive the regular streets enough. If im racing I want a clean track, even if it does have a loop
