GTA ONLINE New ban policy.

Man, as much as I am happy to see some action finally being taken against cheaters and hackers, I am a bit worried for myself. I'm a clean player, no worries about any cheating or anything on my part, but I've transfered my character from Xbox 360>PS4>PC. I'm a GTA Online player since day one. Almost everytime I land in a public session on PC, I am the highest rank (often by far as well). People have been wondering if I'm cheating because of it. That will really leave me a bit uncomfy in public sessions from now on.

 

Stay a step ahead of the game.

 

Generally you'll get told not to worry, but if I were you, I'd create a support ticket with RSG right now, just explaining that. Then, if anything were to happen at least you've got something in writing that you can fall back on if doo-doo hits the fan.

 

No guarantee that would actually work, but I'd personally say it's better than nothing.

So... You must know how many times I have contacted R*, posted on this site my "earnings from them" (pictures included), and carried on? Obviously, R* knows better, right!? They have seen my stats tons of times, always sided with me, and never gave me a problem.

They got a look at their player base. For as much as the problems are Rockstar's fault (and that is largely true), the player base for this game has been horrible. If there's a wall breach, you'll find someone in it; if there's a godmode glitch, you'll find somebody using it to kill you; and if there's a money glitch, watch as half the players in the lobby do it over and over again.

 

The policy is ridiculously harsh but I don't know how else they can get the game's population under control.

They lose not just one, but hundreds of paying players over a silly asthetic because apparently R* doesn't like fun or sandbox as much as they claim.

That's the thing, it's Rockstars absolute incompetence that's caused all this and their inherit cheapass nature. They want all the money without any effort or expenditure. Nooooooooone of this would have happened if the game ran on servers, it would even play without lag or disconnection issues. They refuse to fix anything just delete that feature, look WOW we fixed it!. Paint over texture, crew challenges, ground fireworks, clothing in the game you can't buy.. WHY ? Wtf!?.. The list is almost endless. They don't want a sandbox, they want a boring ass scripted game of 30 levels where by level 29 you are rich enough to buy stuff but just before you do. The CIA bust your ass and take your money. Then you are directed to the ingame store.

 

I myself have been to the ingame store, they used to sell nice Buffalo S's.

What measures are there to stop some whiny guy reporting you if his own attack fails, or you manage to defend yourself from a crew that decided to report you?

 

I've got to say, the whole idea of banning someone for "griefing" seems laughable to me. Everyone has their own idea of what "griefing" constitutes. There are no clear guidelines. and if we're to automatically go with the harshest definition (that simply killing someone is "griefing"), then why have we been given all these attack vehicles? Why the one on one deathmatch feature? Why off the radar? Mercenaries? Muggers?

 

It's like they don't even know what they want it to be. Sorry state of affairs, to be honest.

It's not necessarily a ban for pure griefing (spawn killing with a Hydra frinstance - there's ghosting for that), it's for f*cking with other people's experience. To me that means god mode exploits etc.

I'm totally with you on this. But to be honest, it's not really that surprising that R* once again makes another (partially) contradictive solution to a problem. There are quite a lot of things that don't make any sense in this game, and this was just another one to add to the list.

 

I'm looking forward to see how all this pans out. My belief is that the conclusion of this game will be...
