This post is sadly accurate. I don't really want to hear them talk about banning players for griefing or whatever when we still have at-will Hydra spawns and all the ways to make money in free roam mostly involve driving slow-ass vans from Paleto Bay to El Burro Heights while a great big block of text encourages every tryhard in the lobby to blow you up. Give me a break already. I'm all for balanced PvP play (and actually like running a little risk with my businesses - it gets the juices flowing). But for real, if you're in a public session that's at least half full and try to sell crates or MC product, you can fully expect that someone will decide to kill you - and if that someone gets a jet, bye bye money.

Their Support phrase used to be "Guilty until proven innocent", now it's "Everyone is a crook and we never make mistakes".

 

What the f*ck happened to this company?

 

They got a look at their player base. For as much as the problems are Rockstar's fault (and that is largely true), the player base for this game has been horrible. If there's a wall breach, you'll find someone in it; if there's a godmode glitch, you'll find somebody using it to kill you; and if there's a money glitch, watch as half the players in the lobby do it over and over again.

 

The policy is ridiculously harsh but I don't know how else they can get the game's population under control.

I like how they say they won't hear cases about it. So they're never ever gonna accidentally ban a user who is legit? They probably use code to detect for this stuff.. If the most recent bugs in the game show anything, its that unintended consequences often happen in code. R* cannot simply let people get banned without getting a chance for their case to be investigated.

I'm talking about blocking lanes during races, on purpose blowing up missions objectives that you need to collect, spawn killing people that weren't doing anything,... things that would make you bad sport? I'm not talking about using a mod menu to turn everybody into a christmas tree or blowing up everyone in the lobby at once.

Every decent player who has been in some PvPs in FR has been reported several times. I was reported at least a dozen times when we could snipe players in their tanks.

No Worries! They don't go checking each individual report, and you will never get the amount of reports against you to trigger something if you only get the occasional noob reporting you. The real cheaters get reported and kicked ten times as much, which will trigger red flags.

I wouldn't be surprised if it covered the people that use the Off The Radar and Teleport glitch to kill people. I am sure if someone had video evidence of it and sent in to Rockstar they would consider a Ban.

Well a) I've got several videos from waaaay back that still don't have any views on them, so these haven't been checked despite sending them in, and b) that email address was disbanded in Q3 or Q4 of 2015. Can't remember which.

i've seen people get banned for hate speech trolling but griefers just get sent bad sport lobbies. IMO Bans are for players exploiting the actual game, not exploiting the gameplay that exists for everyone. Reporting someone for exploiting flawed mechanics isn't as serious as reporting them for exploits, neither has any effect unless many players report them anyways, they just serve as more proof when looking into banning a player individually.

 

The reason players get banned is for extra files in their root folder, running 3rd party software, and irregularities in their transaction log.

Most of the bans happen automatically when the anti-cheat (when working & enabled) spots something fishy so you don't have to worry about getting banned simply for being a "bad sport", although you can get banned for typing hate speech in the chat (on PC atleast) which seems to be a big part of griefing, so be aware of that.

The ban is real and just in time as new hacks are making their way back to GTAO. I have only experienced 3 mods in the last 10 months because R* did wipe out 90% of the hacks. They did it around this time last year starting with Execs and Crims.

 

So it looks like R* is about to crackdown on them during the same time this year.

 

I believe there will be less and less menu that is going around since this game is getting older and older. People that write these menus are eventually going to lose interest.

The longest amount of time the PC version was without cheats/ mods/ stuff that worked in their Online game, was about 1 month. I agree, things aren't as bad now, but Rockstar Games' attempts to sort stuff out has been shambolic to say the least.

Man, as much as I am happy to see some action finally being taken against cheaters and hackers, I am a bit worried for myself. I'm a clean player, no worries about any cheating or anything on my part, but I've transfered my character from Xbox 360>PS4>PC. I'm a GTA Online player since day one. Almost everytime I land in a public session on PC, I am the highest rank (often by far as well). People have been wondering if I'm cheating because of it. That will really leave me a bit uncomfy in public sessions from now on.
