So... i expect 90% of the player base banned when i log on later?

 

 

R* logic.. Yep they are gonna ban players interfering with others game play...but they won't do anything to actually stop them by balancing the game better or anything like that. Infact R* encourages it... So wtf are they talking about?

I can understand the banning decisions being final, but wiping EVERYTHING after a temporary suspension just seems harsh in my opinion.

I would assume modded accounts fit the criteria. Also the invisible body parts and totally invisible bodies.

 

 

Also I still think they need to work with Sony, Microsoft, and Steam and if they ban someone in game, they should alert Sony/Microsoft/Steam to it because more than likely they are cheating in other games and it should result in a console ban on PS3/PS4 and Xbox 360/Xbox One and a total account ban on Steam.

Great in principle, but R* are guaranteed to sting the odd innoncent party, and now there's zero recourse.

 

I guess if somone drops $500million on top of your head from now on, you'll have to report it right away to stand any chance of not having your entire character wiped.

 

That is assuming this is not just posturing on R*'s part.

Well that was before the new policy, so you might be alright. Although if the ban hadn't ended until the new policy was rolled out, then yeah, in theory you might have lost it all. Time will tell.

I would imagine that they mean interfering with other's gameplay by illegitimate means. If you are playing within the rules of the game, I find it hard to believe they would ban anyone.

Precisely--especially when R* themselves go out of their way to encourage significant PvP/griefing in free roam (even via Daily Objectives, which is replete with PvP tasks)--and yet they have given no specific definition of what "griefing" is or what constitutes it. Kind of convenient for them, since you can't be held accountable or questioned for what you haven't defined.

 

And I seriously doubt R* takes much, if any, action against those who are griefing (unless they detect they're also cutting into Shark Card sales, then it's "ban away").

ScriptHookV doesn't allow you to access GTA Online, so you must have been using a bypassed variant.

Knowing Rockstar it's more likely the kicked one will be treated as a possible cheat.

So does this mean we can't do resets anymore or anything like that? They mentioned exploits/game mechanics. So will those people who do it be completely reset? I mean sure reset modders, but people who are doing resets or dupes shouldn't be given such a harsh punishment. It's not out fault we're crafty. Crafty vs straight up changing game code are two very different things.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that when they say "interfering with other players experience", they are talking about using illegitimate means. Cheating. Modding. Spawn killing people by crushimg them with ufo's for an extreme example.

^^ If R* consistently tried, and there was plenty of evidence for it, I would believe it. Sadly, game play experiences tell a very different story; you know... like level 8000 players, for instance.

 

I fully expect to see many of them survive this "new" (yawn) money wipe and ban wave.

 

With the arsenal of highly detailed statistics literally at their fingertips, R* has no viable excuses for ongoing inaction.
