Sure, the quality of most of the posts are horrible (just people who are so cool and laughing so hard that they spend all their time on here spamming edgy posts), but it's a huge number definitely.

 

I've heard a lot of people saying you can still get them over anyway, so I don't know how this thread got so big. Just got to be discreet, You can have more than you'll ever need without looking suspicious.

I really hate what Rockstar has decided to do even though it's totally within their right. I just find it mind blowing that they're trying to reinforce their cash card sales where single in game items like the X80 can be worth $25+ IRL (and are no more special or rare like items might be in other games, which are also tradable for dat Steam money). Really $25-$40, that's reasonable cost for ENTIRE DLCs in other games.

 

My opinion would immediately change however if they need to reinforce their overpriced cash card sales to compensate for losses in the courtroom against a certain dude that did a few things for GTA since like forever ago.

I have a feeling something HUGE is comming before xmas- mid Nov.. Nigthclubs being owned like biker club houses.. with missions with the clubs? Mansions?

 

My take is both are comming at the same time. And they are gonna cost LARGE! Like yacht prices type of large.

let me tell you this again:

mansions like the ingame playboy mansion will never come to private ownership in online because technically it is just not possible with these game mechanics!

you cannot make properties with fenced in outside areas ownable.

only inside areas can be individually owned because they are physically in another place under the map.

this is not the case for outside areas which are shared for the whole lobby.

otherwise you would have to share the same mansion with probably 10 other players in the same lobby at the same time.

I started playing legit on the 360 when the game came out, received mod money a few times from friends of friends, then transfered to PS4, so I know nothing about PS3 mods.

 

I avoided the purge, and am sure I will in general because I spent all the mod money a little before it started going down.

What amazes me is both that it took so long for Rockstar to do this, and that some people are so surprised by it (well, I guess how long they didnt crack down adds to the surprise). Cheated money directly cuts into their business model. It's one of the first things they got efficient at picking up on even in the cheating cesspit that is GTAO:PC, and it doesn't surprise me that they're finding other ways to catch it as well.

eeh as far as i know, on pc, buying stuff with modded money results in a ban, if a player buys a vehicle with modded money and tries to sell it, it would also trigger a ban sooo, yeah atleast on console we dont get banned but the rules seem to be different on pc.

im telling you this is not the same people, R* hired some new people and they are the ones dealing with this anticheat thing. i knew there was a new sheriff in town the moment they deployed the "kill switch" that ended the character swap glitch.

One of my accounts is modded. I lost about $3.2 Billion. I'm not really upset about it though. When I bought it, I knew it was only a matter of time. If it's one thing that I realized while having all that money is that I don't really need the majority of stuff that Rockstar is trying to sell me. Between the two characters, I own just about everything, and I still only use a select few "go to" vehicles anyway.

 

I did fill 4 of my 12 garages with fully modded X80s to sell, but quite honestly, it wouldn't bother me to sell most of my other cars either. All I need is a few sports classics, a V12 Armored for cruising around hostile lobbies, an insurgent for when there are jets flying around, a T20, a couple of select motorcycles, and a buzzard.

 

Every time a new vehicle comes out, I read all the rave reviews and hype and then buy it, only to drive it around for an hour or two and then park it in my garage, never to be used again. Without unlimited money, I won't be doing that anymore, but it's not like some great loss. I'm glad it lasted as long as it did. Even now that it's gone, I feel like that modded money was the best $15 bucks I have spent on this game.

I'm not worried about it one bit my friend. Out of 25-30 modded accounts owned by my friends and I, only two were affected. I'll take those odds any day of the

As a safety net, I have 2 other accounts that I don't use as much waiting on deck. So my advice, don't stress it...sh*t, go make it rain on stripper or two when you have some off time..lol

I can appreciate where you're coming from; I don't have a modded account myself, but I think a good many of us are a bit irritated at how the priorities are laid out. They'll spare no expense and effort to crackdown on modded money, patch money glitches within hours, rewriting the ban policy and how they have started outright deleting all character progress and purchased items for anyone who is branded a 'cheater' even if reports against that person were false, and giving the person(s) in question absolutely no way of defending or explaining themselves in such cases. All of this is top priority, but the introduction and out of control nature of game-breaking elements, bugs that cost players virtual money, and the refusal to acknowledge such things are barely (if even) addressed or considered. As it may not be game-breaking, but an example would be the saved outfits bug--the support team doesn't even seem to know or understand that this is a current and known issue plaguing those that don't even have glitched attire. This is also true with the issues that have been plaguing the creator, snapmatic, and job search functions for months on end now.

 

I do think many of those giggling about the misfortunes are mostly going about it the wrong way though. It's sort of ignited nothing short of a flame war with the responses that have been generated within this thread. It's one thing for them to say, "too bad, so sad, you knew the risks" but some have resorted to personal attacks and have attempted to paint the picture that anyone with modded or illegitimate funds are nothing more than individuals with psychological issues or common real life criminals. That seems a bit too much, so I think it's a matter of people refusing to respectfully agree or disagree with the measures R* have taken and have resorted to turning the whole thing into a gloating fest of "shame on you, you scummy, unwashed bastards--I grinded all of my money legitimately and now I'm laughing that R* took yours away" kind of thing.

There's still plenty of modded accounts on PS4 in the 500-1000 rank, I've seen a number of them. but I haven't seen anyone ranked over 1000 all day today and usually every lobby would have 2-3 players 1000-8000 rank.
