Pardon me, are people getting orgasms from this? Finding out people got their accounts stripped.

Man this community is weird...

What's more weird is people cheat on a video game and use that advantage to ruin other peoples gaming experience. Players have modded out EVERYTHING and have unlimited EVERYTHING and they can rarely be killed - yet we're supposed to feel sorry for them and their invincibility God modes and teleportation cheats? "Ooh, Mr Xx_JETGRIEFDEATH_xX has no more cash and can finally be killed!"

So what? It's delightful.

^ Like I said, I heard, I didn't experience first hand and I don't go there.

Looks like there's a bypass for the money wipe on Se7ensins, so that didn't take long. Don't know if it works as I don't use a modded account so haven't been effected.

Also heard if they try to buy bonds to keep some, the cars can't go into LSC.

I can believe that and didn't that happen in the past with Adder bonds?

Sure did. They took the "Sell" option out completely, but now it's humourous because while still having all their money, they can't increase the sell value, if it was still there by modding it at LSC. Believe they get the tooltip,

This vehicle cannot be modified at Los Santos Customs.

They changed the way duped cars sold at a point after the hooker glitch. It indirectly broke those duped Adders but never affected real bought cars other than the occasional bugged one.

Ok, so as a day1 PS3 player, now on PS4, I don't really give a flying f*ck that one of my accounts lost the modded money. It was a throwaway account at best, and a testing ground for new sh*t. I hadn't used it in months anyway. My main accounts still have all their crap and were transferred before I even heard OFW modding was a thing. So no big deal. I'd still happily play on a daily basis, as I have been doing for the past three years.

I have to say this though. All of this; the money wipe, the sudden increase in ban severity, the threats of deletion of progress at the first ban, all the sh*t they're too incompetent to actually fix, the retardedness of being able to run into a ban for not playing the game the way somebody else wants you to, the exhorbitant cost of all the new crap, all of that and more, have really turned what once was a positive pastime into a giant source of negativity and oppression. I play games to relax and get away from the bullsh*t of every day life, but now I feel I have to be careful at every step while in GTA:O to not lose my three years of progress. That's work, that's not play.

Rockstar sure know how to sap the fun out of all of this...

Managed to bypass Rockstar deducting my money, so got my 878 million back for now and working on replacing cars with x80s that are fully-modded. As tedious and boring as this is, I'll be happy to just sell a x80 whenever I need some quick cash.

Bypass as in you never got a flag or you did the glitch to not lose the money.

If its the latter I might have some bad news based on a friend who tried to make bonds today. They couldnt sell them.

Also an update again

Main xb1 account that never modded since the billionaire days untouched

3/4 modded accounts tested later today (as of a few hours ago) had no wipes. One had 450 mill and 2 had over 100 mill.

The 4th account with 435 mill already got flagged earlier today.

Also my PC account which was a transfer of one of the 3 untouched accounts is also untouched and i bought things on it today and periodically checked.

Friend with 400 mill on ps4 got wiped

Friend on xb1 with 100 mill got wiped

Seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. I thought maybe it was alphabetical or something but the GTs i know of my friends and mine come before or after some of the ones i have untouched.

Informative...thank you.

@henryborked: these are pretty much a punishment based in fear: if you know if you use mods you'll get all your benefits deleted and now also your progress, you'll less likely to act wrong.

I don't agree with your last statement though, it's not like they're saying if you do something relatively easy to do by accident (say, bad sports being a reason to get banned, for example) - you either have to install mods on your account, buy a modded account, transfer modded accounts from PS3, or exploit a glitch (of course if you accidentally did it, it doesn't count). All of those are things you can't do by accident, you have to be conscious of what you're doing, and it's not necessary to be very smart to realize what you're doing is not allowed. As long as you don't cheat, you're just fine, it's not that hard to play fair.

It's not really that hard to understand. Some of it is just caring too much about other people's choices, sure. But a lot of it is from people (and I am one of them) who get really tired of joining sessions, seeing a level 8000 (lol) player with an invisible body (lololol) who never does anything but call for his Hydra (lmao) and attack me before crashing it into a building (LOL) because he never played before a week ago. The game isn't really balanced at all in the first place - but one of the few ways they even TRIED to balance it was to make certain things cost a lot of money. People with infinite money just don't give a sh*t and lots of them are griefers, or griefers in training. It's annoying.

Complain all you want about the shark card-driven economy, and really you are not wrong. But GTA would be a better game if almost all of its players had a financial incentive to at least occasionally run a business, buy/sell some crates, or participate in free mode events. The guys who are 100% Rambo all day long have no financial motivation to cease their explosive-spamming, Hydra-exploiting ways; nor even incentive to level up and unlock stuff, since they started at the highest possible level.

So yes, I do feel a little schadenfreude at the thought of a few of those chuckleheads getting theirs.

Oh sh*t. Imagine if Rockstar actually did that - sent a mugger wearing a R* shirt in the game, and he knocked you over and it drained all your modded/glitched money. People would lose their minds. I kind of wish that was what they did now.

Yes, fear. very true.

I do not necessarily agree with the last part. Apparently, having modded money thrust upon you against your will is enough for a ban. I can't be sure about the efficiency and effectiveness of the in-game reporting system, but the one time I got the message 'we're tracking you as a possible cheater' I shut it down and didn't play for a f*cking week.

I couldn't handle a ban then and sure as hell can't handle one now. This has a paralyzing effect on me (and perhaps on others) to the extent that I may choose to not play the game at all anymore. That's not logical and doesn't make sense perhaps but that is how this works psychologically. We've permanently left Super Mario World. This is Sonic The Hedgehog no more.

I knew a guy (he's dead now) who worked on a grading machine for 52 years, he started at 15 and retired at 67 with poor health and died a couple of years later. He gave that plant his whole life and to commemerate his 50 years loyal service, his bosses gave him a gold coloured seconda wristwatch, which sits proudly on the shelf in his widows trailer, in its plastic box.

Those that have lived the easy life for as long as possible, and have now had their billions wiped suddenly look pretty foolish. But are they as foolish as those that turned their noses up at billions of dollars of free money, so they could grind the same missions day in day out, week in week out, month in month out, year in year out. As if their constant toil gives them some kind of moral superiority.

Not everybody wants to cheat, that's cool, but equally, not everybody wants to trade their life for a gold coloured seconda watch

And then there's the middle ground, where the opportunity makes the thief. Those who glitch instead of mod. They may have only gotten a Casio, but they sure as hell worked for it (although not as hard).

Ok so they're wiping money from the nasty cheaters and balancing the f*cked up economy, can't wait for the normally priced sanctus on Friday, should be what, 300 grand or so? Oh no, that's right it's still going to be 2 million, every new super car in the future will still be around or over 2 million, new coats will still cost 40 thousand dollars.

I tried my modded account yesterday and it was untouched, I bought everything I wanted for the 2nd character (even though o don't play with it) and stored 60 tyrus' So if it does get wiped out I can still try these stupidly overpriced cars. My main account is also still untouched with some earned and some dupe car glitched money. I missed both character swap glitches.

If rockstar implemented a system to test drive fully modded cars and bikes in a solo lobby I would have no problem deleting my modded account.

And how did they ruin the experience, like at all? I play GTA Online a lot and have no been affected by them. If anything Rockstar's own screw ups have affected me more. I'm not condoning cheating but I'm not against it either. I couldn't haven given any less of a sh*t about it.

Glad I didn't do that maze bank glitch

Yes, they took glitched money from Heists from my second account!

What glitch was that? Was it the pac quit glitch?

I get your analogy. But change "a grading machine" to "the world's meanest racecar", or "the internet's best porno". Then change "a gold colored Seconda watch" to "an ostentatious show of digital wealth and opulence". Then, your analogy will be a lot more accurate. Earning what little money I have has been fun AF.

Dude, why every single time a modded accounts topic is metioned you show up with your bullsh*t? What is you problem? What are you trying to prove? That you are the superior player here? You are acting like every single modded account user is completely ruining your game expiercence. Just let the people play the game the way they like it. Many users including myself already proved that there is no relation between one's bank balance and your gameplay expierince.

Back on topic, so far 1 out of 3 accounts modded by myself (CFW PS3) has been affected by this. I'm talking about PC here. One of those 3 that is fine on PC has been transferred to PS4 too but I haven't check it yet (goddamn ps+). The other two were transferred directly from PS3 to PC, modded almost exactly the same way, used by different users - one of them is fine, the other not. All of those 3 accounts had less than 500kk of GTA$ on the start.

Analysing this thread and my own case leads me to the conclusion that this proces is completely random and still on going. I see no relation between key factors such as bank balance, gameplay time, money spent and so on. Still wondering what is going on with my multiple PS4 accounts, I'll try to post an update here regarding this.

That whole if you have alot of money it ruins the game for other people argument only worked 3 years ago when this game was new and having alot of money before everyone else was a benefit. Nowadays it is irrelevant. Most people have already earned enough to buy everything they want. Someone having a billion dollars does not ruin the game. That money has no bearing in a race, deathmatch or on a mission or any activity that is not free roam. Hell even in free roam it is pointless. Nobody is running around placing bounties on people anymore or spamming them with merc attacks. People trolling heists/missions has ruined my experience way more than anyone with alot of money has, but Rstar hasn't fixed that.

This is the same community that was so happy to "cheat" in getting beer hats and radio shirts but wags their finger at money cheating cause "its not the same thing" Cheating is cheating where I come from. Most people have gotten money because we all know the monetary system is awful in GTAO its not so people can troll other players, its so we don't have to replay the same heist 16 times to buy 1 item, it's also why there's posts on getting solo lobbies for CEO missions.

"Ooh, Mr Xx_JETGRIEFDEATH_xX has no more cash and can finally be killed!"

So what? It's delightful.

Do me a favour.

You actually believe that wiping their money cripples their combat abilities?

Did Rockstar also take away their Pegasus vehicles, their personal vehicles, their properties and all of their weapons while at the same time blocking access to any and all armed vehicles and weapons either picked up or purchased? That's interesting. I must've read over that part in the OP.

Any one of us (more) legit players can get enough money to finance our free mode shenanigans with ease through a variety of activities. What makes you think that modders won't just give themselves more money again OR if that is not possible or quickly wiped, simply do ANY OF THE THINGS WE CAN DO to make money? They too can play Pacific Standard and earn a couple hundred thousand dollars. Hell, they can even glitch it like many others are doing. The only players I think would be disadvantaged are the ones who spend too much time in free mode and do nothing to make money. But that's a choice.

When you and others in this thread talk about people "spamming" things like merryweather reinforcements, support drops, airstrikes or other things, how the hell do you know they're ALL modders? Do you not realise that some people have been playing this game literally for years and have built up a decent fortune that would allow them to regularly go absolutely nuts in free mode without the slightest worry about what's happening to their bank account?

Wiping money does **** all. Someone who has played this game long enough will have had plenty opportunity to make a lot of money. Even more so now because people can become CEO's/MCP's and have more ways of actively/passively making money. At some point it doesn't matter wether you're legit or using mods. If you've spent time and earned 200 million, that allows you much of the same freedom some cheater with 200 billion has. Surely you realise that? The things directly impacting other players are the OTHER things modders do. I haven't played on the PS3 for quite some time now but my last experiences joining public sessions there could be summed up easily. Jet pricks. UFO's/ferris wheels being spawned all over the place. Spawning in a garage and being stuck in a cage some arsehole put there. It's sh*t like that that made me avoid public sessions most of the time, other people who tried to find the fun in there were less lucky and had to deal with godmode users or being teleported around and executed at will by someone with impossible powers.

Nice that you're delighted. But I really hope that's only because you like the idea of them being punished. Not because you genuinely believe this makes the gameplay experience any better for other non-modding users.

I haven't played in months because my PS3 broke, and I was just about to get a Xbox and set my account back up. I checked the social club, and I still have my $109 Million intact.

If they do take it, I'm kinda f*cked. I've been left behind, I don't have sh*t compared to everyone else now, because I haven't been playing. All I have is some really nice cars I can let go off, but it's really not THAT much money.
