The premise of the money drains is what makes them assholes. The wealth of individuals in a virtual game harms no one but the overflowing hip pockets of Rockstar. The fact that illegitimate earnings have been expelled while other, more prominent issues that pose unfair advantages against other players continue to be ignored only expose Rockstsr as the greedy corporation they are with little thought for players. As for the other accounts I have no idea, there has to be something setting it off like Amount Spent to Amount Earned?

Two very separate groups of things.

 

Griefing or any of that, costs what? A one time purchase of 3mil for a Hydra? Complete the heists one time legitimately and you've got that without much trouble. Uhh spamming things like Ghost Org, BST, explosives? Literally none of those cost more than the take away from pretty much any money making activity. Win a race, win a deathmatch, win a survival, do some CEO work, complete a MC contract, do a contact mission, do a single heist setup as crew member, hell do the daily objectives.

 

I suppose I could understand people gloating over this, but it's not really going to change anything. Rockstar has proven entirely ineffectual at stopping continued use of hacks, scrips, mod menus, whatever you want to call em. They won't ban people for getting money from someone else as it's basically impossible to have that in a EULA agreement. They can only really ban people for doing things themselves like using dll injectors and mod menus. Just draining the bank accounts of erroneous money is functionally pointless. Spamming hydras all day, because everyone has bought the hydra at this point, is a cost that can get soaked by literally next to no effort. One instance of doing sightseer as a CEO/VIP and you've got 20k that's enough for a hundred Hydra call in's. Do PSB finale as a crew member once and you've got 10 or more Ghost organizations to grief with.

 

The large sums of money basically were there to allow people to buy clubhouses, businesses, offices, and warehouses. That and 50 2-3 million dollar supercars. I really don't understand the whole "yeeeaahhaha fk those guys" mentality when it's going to have zero actual impact on the quality of the game you're playing.

spamming rpgs ghost bst bribery in a crew war for an hour will set u back 1/4 million. Legit players aint gonna waste that in a one hour war but moddets will, every day they log on. Modded accs killed free roam lobby wars thank god the cheats got nerfed

Pure modded but the player stats weren't touched. I transfered with like 500 mil. Lvl 130 but no strenth etc just because I forgot to do it. Other than extravagant car paints it doesn't have a lot done.

Yep modded account wipe is real. Reports are coming in from modded outfit wipes, modded car wipes, Rank wipe, money wipes, all kinds of sh*t and it's random what gets wiped depending on individual accounts. I bet there will be a lot less people playing GTAO soon. R* just culled half their player base.

Might be getting a ingame message asking to design the cars for the upcoming vehicle buisness loool. I couldn't care much if I do loose the money, the cars is what I like. That character doesn't even own a gun other than a pistol.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a modder (though I have had cash dropped on me in the past) so I don't get "hilarious" people telling me I'm salty/mad/upset/etc.

I am amazed some of you are naive enough to think that the wiping of modded account's cash is in any way a sign of the game improving.

Literally the only reason Rockstar bothered to do this was so that there's a slight, slight chance that they might sell some more cash cards. That's it.

I think the excuses for "why I'm a loser cheat", are pretty funny. Too bad none of you are entitled to anything you acquired in an illegitimate, out of game rules, way. You don't just get to bypass or circumvent the rules because you don't like them... What are you, 10? That's just part of the biggest problem. Entitlement, sociopathy, greed and impatience.

It's a bit sad that nowadays even if you pay for a game up front, the online portion still gets turned into a way to push microtransactions.

 

 

Okay, 'micro' is a bit of an understatement. The game was about $60 on release, wasn't it? Oh wait, $100 shark cards. And that $100 gets you basically nothing nowadays, as far as GTA$ is concerned. I wasn't around from release (on PC, at that). I started out around the time IGG2 dropped. They added the T20. A 2+million car. That was seriously expensive, but the update's theme was overpriced stuff. Fine. You could say that earning enough cash to have a T20 was 'something'. Now every other new car(bikes at that price level coming soon, no worries) is priced like that. All the new 'business' missions, crates, whatever, they all require a massive buy in first. And after that, you either contend with jets in free roam, or make a 'solo' session to farm in peace.

 

I'm not really sure how much longer will it take for the grind to become too much for me to enjoy the game at a reasonable pace. Once they start adding 3 million+ priced stuff? We already have a 2.7m car(currently on sale). Not that far off to get another super for 3 million. Make it the quickest one and there you go, people buy it.

 

As far as modded money disappearing... this changes nothing for me, since I doubt they'll suddenly lower prices. That's assuming they manage to get rid of most of the billionaires anyway. Wish they'd work half as hard at fixing certain bugs (Faction is still unable to go over curbs, just as I am unable to get over it) as they do at fixing anything money related. A money glitch is found, a few days later... FIXED. A vehicle is heavily glitched to the point of being useless? No problem, that can wait. How many months has it been already?

That Faction bug bothers the sh*t out of me too but they have "fixed" it by making you pay to make you're Turbo GNX (with inaccessible power bulge) into a monster truck, only costs you a million too... Muppets!

 

As much as it will deprive me of joy, I really hope a ton of players quit after this. Rockstar is literally strangling their golden goose to death because of insane amounts of greed and paranoia. It really feels like they're incapable of learning a lesson until their whole house burns down.

Why would you wish that? These are some players you've played with, had fun with.

 

The true irony is that nothing will punish them. They modded that money and they'all mod the next money. You aren't going to hurt them anymore than, in reality, they hurt you.

This is exactly what I've come to expect from R*. They don't give a sh*t about the broken content they release. They can't be bothered to give us a working weapons inventory management system. The weapon locker they released and re-released behind a ridiculous 500k paywall (my own real gun locker cost less than a grand) doesnt even work outside free roam. Not to mention the other long standing problems. But of course they have time for another money wipe. Clear where their priorities lie.

 

I dont care about the players who modded or gained GTA $ illegitimately, i dont even blame them, because outside of spending weeks grinding or hundreds of dollars on shark cards, that is the only way to enjoy all the crap DLC they release every other month. They have just guaranteed that i will no longer buy their products. If i ever do buy another one of their games (BIG if) i will make a point of buying it used.

 

f*ck you Rockstar. f*ck your shark cards. And f*ck your money wipes. You can keep it all.

At least that's how the game is built. I don't know if it's good or not, but that's the way it is. It's funny how people have been playing a fantasy game for three years not knowing that it is not a fantasy game. It is work. Tough work, where you are the slave and Rockstar is the master. That's GTAO.

 

Real life for most adults is a grind. Going to a crappy job to do the same boring task over and over again and having to surpress you intelligence in the process. Gaming is not about being a mind numbing grind, it's meant to be fun. Rockstar have forgotten this. Playing the missions in GTA O was fun, whilst ranking up. After 3 years, they're just mind-numbing. They're not bad missions, just it's the same ones over and over again. Plus everything is ridiculously expensive. Sure you don't have to buy anything but it's nice to be able to enjoy the new content when it's released.

If you find GTA Online a grind this isn't the game for you. I work full time and still have enough time to make huge amounts of cash.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the money drain but has anyone else's Social Club account stats been wiped? My account doesn't show GTA V on the games I've played and my online stats are all gone. Even my PS3 and 4 Snapmatics are gone. I don't even have a modded account, by the way. I've never glitched money on PS4 either. The last time I got illegitimate money was right before I transferred to PS4 and some modder on PS3 gave me like $10,000,000 and I spent all but $2,000,000 to get a trophy for spending $8,000,000 on heist vehicles or something like that.
