tl;dr: my character is working at the movie studios by day and is a streetracer by night

An average day in Los Santos

It had only been a few months since I moved to San Andreas but my life back in Alderney seems like a lifetime ago. So much has happened in such a short span of time it’s crazy just to think about it. It wasn’t even that long ago that I was living in a dusty old garage, just trying to make ends meets, taking on odd jobs for shady people just to earn a living. And look at me now: I got a place I can call my own, a steady job where I can do what I love and a reputation on the street that gives me plenty of opportunities to make a little extra on the side. It seems I finally found the place where I belong.

One of my favorite things to do in Los Santos when I have some free time is to go to the beach near Del Perro Pier. It’s not like there were no beaches back in Alderney, but ever since the RON oil spill a few years ago the water is deemed ‘’hazardous to the human body’’, so unless you want oil residues in your hair you best avoid the water. The beach back home itself was still fun for cruising around with my old dirt bike, but here in Los Santos it’s a whole other story. Though summer is coming to an end, the weather is still good enough to spend a morning near the water, with the sun shining on your face, a radio playing Radio Mirror Park in the distance and the sound of waves crashing against the beach. Today was one of these days. I wasn’t expected at the movie studio until two o’clock. The weather was looking fine, so I thought why not have a lazy morning.

Working on my tan

Grand_Theft_Auto_V_20161025204931.png

You know, riding a jet ski isn’t that different from riding a bike. At least the crashes are a lot more comfortable.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Around one o’clock I made my way to the movie studio. We were supposed to film some action scenes of a coming up blockbuster called Deep Inside. It’s just another spy flick if you ask me, but Vinewood seems crazy about it. This day however would turn out differently than what I expected.

Solomon Richards, owner of the movie lot, was waiting for me when I arrived and beckoned me into his office.

‘’Kid, we got a problem. We’ve been robbed this morning. The JB700 replica has been stolen and Brandon Roberts got knocked out. We need you to do his parts today. The moron won’t come out of his trailer.’’

I look puzzled. ‘’What? What do you mean, we’ve been robbed? What happened?’’

Mr. Richards lets out an audible sigh. ‘’Some random goon managed to gain access to the set this morning. He knocked out Roberts, took his clothes and strolled onto the set like nothing was the matter. Of course security didn’t notice anything was wrong until they saw Brandon running around in his underwear screaming that some ‘’big black dude’’ had knocked him out. By that time the ‘’big black dude’’ had already taken the JB700 and drove away.’’ He chuckles. ‘’I’m guessing what our carjacker didn’t know was that it was a cheap replica; it’s worth basically nothing on the market. On the upside, Lemmy down in accounting did insure it for the value of an original JB700, so we’re actually making money out of it, hehe.’’

‘’Okay… if you say so sir.’’ I say. ‘’But what’s my involvement in all of this? I’m not an actor, I just drive.’’

Mr. Richards let out another sigh, this time a bit more irritating. ‘’Well our movie star Roberts thinks the attack is proof that ‘’aliens from the fifth Paradigm’’ are out to take him away. Then he went on that he needed ‘’Kraff’’’s guidance in his troubling times and shouted ‘’Kifflom’’ a couple of times.’’ He paused to pinch the bridge of his nose. ‘’I swear kid, working with movie stars in this day and age is like working with children. As it stands know we need you to do Roberts parts for the time being.’’

‘’But sir, we look nothing alike! He’s like twenty years older than me!’’ I say.

‘’Kid, everything is possible in post-production these days. You want carnivorous plant-aliens who talk English? See Shoulder of Orion II! You want a dog to talk and give a long speech about how charity is cowardice and selfishness is a virtue? Watch Arthur Penny’s Sanitorium! You want to see a middle aged washed up actor perform stunts only a 20 year younger version of him could perform? They will watch Deep Inside.’’

I can’t help but grin at the passion shown by the old man. ‘’I’m guessing this is the magical world of making movies, huh sir?’’

‘’Hallelujah, son.’’

That night

Having spent pretty much the entire afternoon shooting footage, I was exhausted when the director decided to call it a day. I went home and took a long shower, trying to wash the fatigue from me. After cleaning myself up and putting on something a bit more comfortable (because believe me, working in a tuxedo in 25 degrees celsius weather all day isn’t fun) I got a text.

It was from Chloe, a girl I met through Lamar during one of the street races. She was a racer herself and she challenged me as the newcomer for a race around the docks. Her pink Feltzer against my blue Elegy. We never really know who won the race, as far as we could tell we both crossed the finish line at the same time. We decided to continue the game later at her appartment… but that’s not important now.

‘’Hey M, you up for some drinks down at VU?*’’

Honestly at this point I’d rather crash into my bed and sleep for a day or two, but on the other hand I could really use a drink.

‘’On my way.’’ I texted back.

* = Vanilla Unicorn

Grand_Theft_Auto_V_20161026171538.png

Grand_Theft_Auto_V_20161026171919.png

Taking a stroll over Vinewood Boulevard. Who knows, maybe one day my name will be on the Walk of Fame?

Arriving at the club I saw that the same gang of people who usually hang around the races had gathered here tonight. I guess nothing major went down on the streets this night. Chloe was already waiting at the door.

‘’You’re late, so you’re buying the first round.’’

‘’So that’s why you texted me huh? So I could get you free booze?’’, I grinned.

Chloe laughed and playfully punched my arm. ‘’Oh, you know me so well.’’

Standing in the club, a scotch in my hand and mainstream pop music blaring through my ears, I had the same thought I had this morning. I’ve only been in this city for a few months but it feels like a lifetime. You never know what happens in life. All I know is that sometimes you just have to let go of the reins and see where life will take you.

Where can I find this scoresheet?

Doesn't matter that's the full one.

Is the voting system not a bit odd? at what point do the points go towards the criteria? I'd hate to use myself as an example, yet I did everything on the criteria yet I received no points?

Wouldn't it make more sense if the criteria points went directly towards the final points. Then you see the result of following the criteria.

I may be able to answer your question. There are no points. What you see is just the postions the judges ranked the entries. It is up to the individual judges to determine if an entry fits the critera, and does it well.

There isn't like a scoresheet where they check off if you included everything or not.

Livejoker will likely expand and correct what I am saying.

Just so you know FrikkenZz...

I am deducting 3 points from whatever score I was going to give you for being a horrible Deputy City Manager for Paleto Bay, there are too many f*ckin fire hydrants in that town. You Hippies afraid of dropping a joint and torching the whole place?

We have alot of riches in the Bay that we wouldnt like to burn down. A weed farm and the Mayor's house amongst others. They also make for good fun, as we can cool down hot (headed) people (who cant drive for sh*t). So behave or we'll pull out our hoses. Edited by FrikkenZz

-snip-

Yup, the fixed spreadsheet (the one posted here was the wrong one, the one in the first thread is fixed with LL Cool L in his rightful first place) can be found in the first stage thread. You can find a link to it in the first post of this thread. Here's the correct one for anyone wondering:

19wFFSl.png

I'm going off the tracks with what I'm about to say and it should be noted that I'm not a judge and never have been so this information may be wrong. I believe that judges pick a top twenty that they like and from the criteria given they arrange them in order, switch them out for others if they don't meet certain requirements and so on. Yes, it does seem fishy that an entry with all requirements met doesn't receive a single point, especially with 4 different judges to pick from, but the mentality of a "submission" stage is that some submissions that meet everything can still be left out. It's a judge-based section rather than a standard point system - you don't automatically get an "X" amount of points simply for having everything. It's also percentage-based where a bio can be worth more for one contestant than another. Say Guy 1 has a really good bio but bad pics yet Guy 2 has a bad bio but good pics it can really go either way with the judges, though appearance, overall, plays a much bigger part to crown Mister LS than all the info on a character (though it does help).

If I was judge I would've given scores to everyone that filled everything out but sadly I'm both not a judge and incapable of handing out points to everyone on the basis that there's more than 20 entrants that met the criteria (though I believe we had fewer than 20 videos). I really would like to give you a clearer explanation but it all happens in the mind of the judges. The issue I've found with these type of forum games is that there's always something "out of it". There's something missing. I would like to test out a system where points are given for meeting everything but then you have the issue of having people doing a sh*t bio just to get a few extra points. Points are optional, not mandatory, thus the percentage system where you can get 0% on the video despite having a video. It can go up to, say, 5% for a video (for example).

I'm sorry I can't be more help, Arthur. There is things I'd like to try out or I would've done differently but with what we have so far I'm pretty happy with how it's going. There's a good range of great entries in the running, though many of them didn't make it (like yours, which I really enjoyed). :^:

"Pull out our hoses" sounds like a great porno line.

Wouldn't it be simpler just to judge each person from 0 to 100 based on the voting criteria and you add the totals up from each judge and the highest score is the winner?

No worries at all. I appreciate your explanation and understand this is mostly untested until now, It's working very well and it's hard to carve out a place with all these great entries.

Great hosting btw! as far as I'm concerned you should be the official host for all of these competitions.

First round entry: here.

Disclaimer: There seems to be a glitch with the hair style I use for Zach, the "Short Brushed" hair style. The glitch is not on any of my older snaps so I guess it's new. But I'm not changing it since it suits the character and it's what I used in the first round. I'm sure you'll notice in the snaps below, ah well.

Thanks to the judges for considering my entry to be worthy of the second round.
Congratulations to all who made it to the next round and good luck to this round.

Beachwear (Day On The Beach)

LLfbzLv.jpg

So this time you don't want me to write any ******** story I made up about my character. Fine. You'll have to deal with some small titles for each picture. Here I am walking out of the water after a swim. To be honest I didn't even swim. I just floated around in the water for 20 minutes and came back to the beach. Women like athletic guys so I'm trying my hardest to appear as one.

05GVSTR.jpg

Here is me lying next to a random chick I was trying do my moves on. She didn't give me her number because "I have a boyfriend." What a waste of my time.

Attending An Event (Style To Impress)

cjJOA2b.jpg

Here I just parked my other beauty from my collection - Declasse Mamba. I was heading to auditions to an upcoming movie title at The Richman Hotel. It turned out that the weather forecast at eyefind.info isn't that accurate. According to them it wasn't suppose to rain that day. ****

CRIZV9m.jpg

Here is me again at a fundraiser that I threw. We were collecting funds for the have nots of Los Santos. Our goal was to make every resident of Los Santos a millionaire. Turned out that the billionaires didn't give a *****.

Disaster of a movie

7KWtp1j.jpg

The next 3 pictures (this one included) have been taken during the shootings of a film I'm currently working on. Don't quote me on this but this movie will be a bag of ********* if it ever comes out. Don't go to see it. Not even if you happen to get in free. The photo is good though.

YzuzrcI.jpg

Here is another one of these pictures from the film. I don't often get to shoot with a weapon, but when I do I'm mostly firing blanks.

YjIv5n0.jpg

"Mama, just killed a man

Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead"

Yeah as I said I'm mostly firing blanks on the shooting scenes of a film. Some ******* in the set decorator team managed to mix up the blank ammunition with the real deal. I kinda tripped and accidentally shot this co-actor. Now we need to shoot most of the film again *****.

Again thanks to anyone who read this post through and maybe liked it.

Time Incarcerated: 20 Years

It Was Easy

It was easy. I was the muscle. A much younger me with a much larger attitude. The Gamvebelli's made their status way back, in the old west. Immigrants from Italy, they found the deserts and plains to be areas of opportunity. Outlaws, destroying towns, robbing trains, typical stuff you see in movies now. They eventually spread throughout the country, becoming involved in slave trade and cotton plantations. By the late 1800's they had already established great wealth. During Prohibition they made no time wasted with illegal smuggling of alcohol across the country. Around that time is when my family stepped off the boat. My father and brothers were heavily involved in running across state borders. When it was eventually my time, we were running the city. The racket was easy. Businesses pay us, we make sure they are taken care of. Now, they don't pay us, well, that is when they sent me and my boys in. You either paid us, or you paid us. There were no other options. Not for them, and not for me.

Some do make it look real easy.

So I decided that the best way to tackle voting is to not have a poll just yet. Let's wait until the deadline and then put a poll up with all those that have entered this round, this both means people don't have to wade through entries not in this round and making those not here automatically forfeiting their entry. Chin up to those here! That means you have more chances of moving to the final round. ;)

New date for deadline:

Deadline entry: Monday at 11:59PM EDT (not changed)
Polls Open: Tuesday at whenever I or Mion wake up (changed).
Polls Closing: To be discussed but most likely 5 days long of voting.

If you use bathrobe for theme #1, it would best fit for "Walk of Shame" though it's totally up to you on how you incorporate it into your overall theme/pics. I've been getting messages along the lines of "can I use this for this theme?" and while getting confirmation is good I think taking a shot in the dark and being creative is the way to go. Surprise us. Make us go "damn, that's really good". The judges are pretty excited for the multiple theme stuff and can't wait to see what you guys pull off - they're already jabbering about the entries so far so that's really good. :^:

Evolution, congrats on the Bikers R* pic contest, I haven't checked them out in ages, I saw the winner and was like daaaaamn thats a sick shot then saw it was by you!

Thank you very much! Always a pleasure to see a feedback from people with their support, though some people think Im not deserved it XD

Also R* surprised me in their Twitch :)

I'll try something :)

Heading out isn't just wearing some suit and clubbing, per say. It could be some casual activity you can enjoy with other people, you probably can message your friends to come by with a stylish-yet-homie-ish attires similar to yours and have some beer or smoke some Redwood at a social place like the pier or infront of a restaurant.

Visit locations as your character in Director Mode and drive around looking for good photoshoot areas, that's how I got the idea for my post on the 1st page.
