SinZer0s
Rockstar has an obsession with combat rolls since 2004 2004: CJ was able to roll while crouching 2006: Jimmy was able to roll during dodgeball minigames 2008: Niko was able to roll now by pressing square or X while aiming 2010: John was able to roll too 2013: They returned for GTA V Do you think rolling will be back? Do you think Rockstar will screw up online gunfights again by including combat rolls? Tell me your opinion
MorbidPharaoh
I honestly dont think it "Screws up online" i think it adds more to combat makes going after randoms a little more unpredictable...are they good? Will they roll? Kinda deal much like COD with the boost jumping people are just going to have to adjust... Just my humble opinion though. Shadowfennekin
I hope not. I despise players who abuse it in MP. You don't need it for gameplay Hybrid_Punk, Xiled and E•MO•TION
Hybrid_Punk
I'd rather Rockstar focus on a cover-based system like Max Payne. RDR's was pretty wack. Payne Killer and JuniorChubb
Hunter
I think they almost definitely will - it'll probably be very similar to Redemption 1 - I mean, they are calling it Redemption 2. It's not impossible they won't though, but I think if they get rid of rolls they'll make the gameplay very different. I wouldn't mind it having more touches from Revolver to be honest. paperbagdude
I believe they will and I think they should. I reckon that the amount of combat rolls you can do in GTA V depends your character's level of either strenght or stamina, meaning a higher level of said skill will increase the frequency of possible combat rolls. Based on this argument (whether it's true or not), combat rolls should be a part of RDR2, but with a cool down on let's say - 10 seconds? I mean, combat rolls are useful and fairly realistic in general, however rolling around on the ground with a firearm acting like a soccer ball isn't. Zader
I'm positive they'll return, which is primarily the reason I intend on playing exclusively in free-aim once it drops. MCMXCII
MCMXCII
I'm positive they'll return, which is primarily the reason I intend on playing exclusively in free-aim once it drops.This. The combat rolls were pretty useless in RDR1 once you learned how to free-aim. It was only somewhat useful if you were getting sniped at and wanted to make it more difficult for the guy to shoot you. Up close, it was useless in my opinion.
dudclub55
The problem isn't with rolling, it's with stupid auto aim. JuniorChubb
Algonquin Assassin
I don't see why it shouldn't come back. Then again given how many simple mechanics GTA V mysteriously made disappear that were in GTA IV you never know. Cutter De Blanc
saintsrow
Do you think combat rolls could return for RDR2? Are you just trying to start trouble? But I'm OK with horse combat rolls. Yes. And crouch I do want crouch. That's especially cool in the western setting. And of course, we need same or better cover mechanics as GTAV. Imagine shots ringing at you without having cover in close proximity, you'll have crouch your way to cover or dodge roll to cover Edited September 27, 2017 by MojoGamer
D T
They just need to replace combat rolls with the shootdodge mechanic from Max Payne 3. Of course that would require competent netcode, which seems to be outside the realms of possibility for Rockstar.

Richard Power Colt
RDR multiplayer was basically whoever rolls first loses. Kinda like a mexican standoff I guess. I didn't mind it personally, well most people I encountered in that game were really sh*t at pvp so it was fun for me at least to get those post-roll headshots. Napalmbrain
I hope not but we all know the answer is yes. A damn shame too, I can't think of a more efficient way to ruin a multiplayer game than by adding a spammable dodge. Fun stuff Rockstar.
