RogerWho
I'm not nostalgic since I'd not been into GTA at the time. But I've watched the IV/EFLC/CW trailers a few weeks ago and yep, it really shows the vibe they were going for back in the day. Really sweet. Nico
IV was the very first game I actually waited for. I was 12 when it was announced, and I got internet for the first time pretty much around those days. Back then GTARevoultion was alive and kicking, and I remember myself posting fake stuff and misinformation about the game. Is sad to know that such great website is gone, but from a Machiavellian point of view is good to know that all of my sh*tposting in there is no longer existent. Algonquin Assassin
I still play it from time to time. The mood, mystery, atmosphere etc. Even though the later trailers improve GTA IV graphically the launch trailer holds up very well IMO considering it's nearly 10 years old. I miss trailers like this one that don't reveal much at all and leave you wondering. So old school. RogerWho
You know what's funny? If such a trailer would be released for the next GTA, it would be dumped on from all sides. It doesn't show gameplay, so critics would hate it. It doesn't look like a mafia/crime/gangster story, so the general GTA fans would hate it. It's moody and contemplative, so old-school GTA fans who just expect rampage and "FUN" would hate it. It doesn't show multiplayer so the online players would hate it. And we would hate it because we'd know it's a lie since the next GTA is going to be another online-prominent disaster Sonny_Black, ClaudeSpeed1911, Lancerator and 5 others

Queen Elizabeth II
Grand Theft Auto IV. That's what I call the best game I've ever played. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. That's what I call the second best game I've ever played. Grand Theft Auto V. That's what I call a game which is very disapointing, worse than its predecessors and unlikeable piece of electronic entertainment. ClaudeSpeed1911
I didn't have internet at the time but damn, the first time I saw the game and the trailers it looked real as hell. I didn't even have anything other than a PS2 and a weak by 2007 standards PC. The game was as good as I thought it would, unlike some other game... Jabalous
It was my first experience waiting for a game trailer countdown to run out. In my area, the trailer was launched on 1 AM and it was a cold and chilly night that day in a home office where my first and old desktop PC was stationed. Guess what happened to the office? It was later turned into a dining room, but this is irrelevant to the topic. Edited October 28, 2016 by Jabalous Eugene H. Gnocchi Flip Flops
I'll never experience that nostalgia. The first time I heard of IV was when my dad bought it around launch and the first time I played it was sneakily a few weeks later. That's when I got into it. At least I got to experience the V hype. GTA V's hype pre-release was more memorable than the game itself IMO. GTA IV had an amazing build up and the game exceeded all my expectations that were provided by the trailers and pre-release info. Journey_95
Damm this takes me back. I was a big GTA fan at that time already and this trailer was surprising (since its so different from SA and VC). It was clear that GTA IV would be more mature & serious. I think my favourite is probably Trailer 3 though, just goosebumps throughout. Edited October 30, 2016 by Journey_95 theGTAking101

-Quantum-
I remember those times and how I rewatched that trailer for 100 times in a day Such a nostalgia, damn. I never in my life was so hyped. But the game itself was a biggest disappointment for me after its release. Yeah, I'm a San Andreas guy and I love GTA V (not online), but even now I watch that first trailer and think that it's better that the actual final game. The final game misses that atmosphere, that lighting, that mood and even flying birds. My dream is to play a build of the game where that trailer was shot. ViceBoy69
LOL @ major disappointment GTA5 is a disappointment , ive said it before and I will say it again GTA5 is San Andreas on steroids, you cant relate to the characters, the car damage and movement of the peds is like something SEGA did for crazy taxi. I honestly wish I hadn't bought 5 it is such a let down, its like buying a balloon only to find you cant blow it up. Before any GTA5 fan boys start ive be playing GTA games from the start GTA5 is not as good as any of the games that came before it including the console only releases, the game is basically a joke I was disappointed in rockstar.
