How to balance Pegasus' combat vehicles

some people abuse the pegasus calls way too much. I want to have fair chance to secure my multimilion dollar minimap-active convoy.

-Remove the Hydra from Pegasus list;

-Return the 3 million GTA$ that players needed to buy it;

And here I am, using Hydra mostly as a form of quick transport.

Remove Hydra, give owners option to have unarmed version of it and 500k-1m in cash, or to have their 3m back, and put unarmed version on warstock.

I'd be ok with this.

The Wandering Hunter

too late

and the jets are the only two vehicles that are overpowered

i have never been scared of a heli

Currently the helis are sitting ducks for the HRL, so yeah, there aren't a threat all to players on ground and are quite balanced between each other(apart from the Annihilator, that thing is a piece of sh*t).

If the fixes I suggested could be applied to the game, then I wouldn't mind it they removed the HRL at all.

the annihilator is fun to use to kill sh*tty jet pilots though

they just fly directly at you, fire 2 easily dodged missiles then get shot in the face

Yes sometimes I just have that itching need for destruction. Other days make money from CM's and heists

So i can suggest you a single player mode for causing mayheam, You wont even pay a single dollar for 2 hours of fun.

i remember when i was so poor back in the day i relied on stealing the buzzard from the hospital roof, the day they changed that was very frustrating.

well if it was that simple don't you think I would have already tried it, I mean have you tried to dogfight the AI that's as dumb as a box of rocks. That's not much fun now is it...

Here's an idea, put the cooldown that stupidly only exists for Criminal Damage. And apply it as soon as you touch a Pegasus vehicle. Cooldown won't start counting down until you leave the vehicle, AND you can't call Pegasus in Passive mode. Would remove a lot of griefers who passive right away.

A friend of mine brought up an interesting concept for neutering balancing jets.

Instead of making them as weak as the Savage, or as useless as the Annihilator, give them a direct counter.

At first we were thinking of some sort of Anti-Air vehicle, like a treaded APC or something lower-tech like the Technical but with Flak.

But recently we thought, why not have a dedicated Air-to-Air jet? Something like the Besra with a regular machine gun mounted on it.

Something that's more maneuverable than the Hydra or Lazer, and can fight back.

It won't have missiles, or explosive bullets. Just something a skilled pilot could use to out-class a griefer.

I would love hopping in a smaller jet and chasing down a Lazer.

Plus it would be difficult to use to grief people on the ground without explosive rounds. Not impossible, but difficult for unskilled pilots.

1. I would like to see a limit to the ammo of all armed aircraft with some sort of process to rearm your craft, something to take them outta the sky for a bit-

2. A cool down period after getting shot down-

3. A better missile against a jet for the foot soldier, it's way too easy for a skilled pilot to avoid rockets-

4. Give all aircraft a counter measure to the missile.... also a limited supply

5. If you limit the ammo in the aircraft they also need to remove the ability to restock the rockets from the interaction menu, one would need to go to ammunation to restock-

6. I would love to see an anti aircraft gun shooting up some flak in the sky....

my 2 cents

Easiest solution would be to remove the explosive rounds from the jets, give them the same guns as the other helicopters, and increase the range on said guns.

LOL it's not gonna happen and it's too late now :p

I remember when people here said that to Heists, Lowriders and Biker DLCs, and look at what happened.

It's not too late for this at all, this is Rockstar's game and they can what they want it as they please.

You are comparing apples to oranges. There is a difference between adding content and removing content. What has R* removed that we once were able to own through legitimate means?

would force anyone into needing said vehicle, thus everyone doing random freeroam events would still be f*cked.

Also stop typing in fat, it is not like you have anything to say that is more important then other people i'm afraid....just makes you look like an attention who....ehm....seeker.

Rolling back the spawns for the hydra back to airstrips is the only idea I can get behind. I absolutely love my hydra.. shame on players trying to get it taken away from me. Lol

Just change the way the call out fees work for armed vehicles in free-mode.

Instead of $200, armed vehicles cost 0.0175% of their base purchase value to call out ($525 for the Hydra)

After 2 minutes of game time you'd be charged an additional ~10% of the call out fee, and every 2 minutes you'd be charged an extra ~10% on top of the last payment, up to 12 minutes, at which point it plateaus and only increases at a flat rate (that of the 12 minute value)

So, for the Hydra:

$525 (call out) + $53 (2 mins) + $158 (4 mins) + $315 (6mins) + $525 (8 mins) + $788 (10 mins) + $1,103 (12 mins)

Would be ~$3,467 for twelve minutes of Hydra, and +$1,103 for every two minutes beyond.

Also, Each time you request an armed vehicle in freemode, the price to request that vehicle increases by +1000% should that vehicle be destroyed (so, $5,250 for the hydra), diminishing over 12 minutes until it's back to its original value, but being reset (as well as increasing by an extra +1000%) if a new one is called out in place of a destroyed one before the 12 minute period ended.

No effect on using armed vehicles in missions, no effect on CEO vehicles, and if you are using armed vehicles as a means to make money in free mode, the costs are low enough that you'll still make a profit. It should only really penalize so-called griefers.

Except for the ones packing 500b...

Interesting concept, but a lot of the people who decide to grief are ones who have so much money they don't know what to do with it.

This would probably hurt people trying to stop griefers more than the griefers themselves.

Not a bad idea. A relitively cheap air-to-air fighter could help. Give it chaff to boot and it could be a great addition.

People still rocking that kinda money are in the minority, as least on console, these days. Did try to devise a way in which the measures are not a burden to normal players, but I guess measures which target griefers also target hydra hunters in other hydras by proxy. A cheap dedicated "hydra-killer" jet would remedy that issue, but then I guess it would also negate the need for any financial measures at the same time anyway.

In my opinion the whole idea of having overpowered vehicles shouldnt be avaible to buy. Instead, player should've to steal them from the spawning points, and store somewhere.

The more op vehicles is, the less it appear in the free roam. Basing on random events, such as Insurgents and Valkyria heist setup missions player can steal them, store, and use them in the future. If the vehicles gets blown up, You need to get another one. Where is the fun, if you can call for another. Imagine doing CEO, some guy gets unlimited oppurtinities to dominate you if all he does is calling for hydra.

Random events should also correlate to the date (days of the week) and precise hour.

Example: player tries to steal a lazer from the zancudo. After setting an alarm (ant this should be avoidable) he has one life to get to the OP vehicle.

If he wont do it succesfully, the vehicles will get locked for good.

Spawn Locations:

Aircraft carrier: (Unblipped, cruising around the map. Call lester to get to information about last seen location for 20 000 $. It circles the map with very wide loops). No respawning on the aircraft.

open hours:

Lazer 5:00-10:00 ALL WEEK

Hydra 8:00-10:00 ALL WEEK

Fort Zancudo:

Lazer 7:00-10:00 and 16:00-19:00 MON, WED

Hydra 9:00-15:00 THU.

Rhino 14:00-18.00 SUN

Valkyria 18:00- 6:00 SAT, WED

Merryweather hangar:

Insurgent 20:00-4:00 WED, THUR, FRI, SAT

Insurgent Pickup 23:00 -1:00 FRI, SAT

Buzzard 6:00 - 18:00 MON, THUR, SAT

Army and Merryweather is not affected by Leters' "Blind Eye".

_____________

The next step to balance it out is to put all Explosive guns and throwables into dropping crates from the Merrywather, making Ammunation selling only guns like pistols and riffles.

Also, every stolen OP vehicle is rewarded with 10 000 RP

Respect for the avatar bro

I recreated it for my 33hz crew logo

Ability to create contact mission playlists, in fact I can't even access both playlist I used to have.

If I want to make a new playlist, I can only add jobs like races, parachuting, etc...

They also removed some missions and veirfied jobs(damn, I miss Grand Tour...)

It could start as a single random event, such as terrorist attack on Pegasus.

The whole essence of those changes would make calendar more important and relevant for the game.

also I think that storing Jets would be too much, They shouldnt be upgradable since they're enough overpowered.

Also I have no good idea on where it would fit to be stored.

Just taking the explosive rounds off the jets would be more than enough to fix a majority of the problems with them.

Leave them on the Savage, though, so at least there's a reason to buy one. The thing is slow and weak enough that it deserves to be a glass cannon.

no, I would rather like to stealing Lazer being really hard. there has to be a little portion of godmode feeling while piloting it, but it should be adequate to difficulty of gaining the vehicle.

Stop crying and try fighting and figure out how to take it down. I'm at point I'm running a 1to1 kd foot vs jet at minimum and sometimes I'm 1to0. I take out tanks with a 1to0 kd and insurgents all you need is a mini gun and you can steal it. I never use my insurgent pick up in freemode I steal yours and kill you with it.

So hard 1to1 kd on a jet and the guy was a level 800+. Get good.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DiPB1TBRxqk

EDIT: I paid 3mil for a jet 1.5 for a tank 1.7 for a buzzard and almost 2mil for a savage. I earned the right blow you kids up with it after spending 8mil I legitimately earned on assault vehicles.
