FirstDegreeDonny
If you own one, you probably call it a yacht. Noobs call them overpriced boaties. Me? I refer to yachts as deathtraps. No, that's not a bad thing, /if/ you know how to handle yourself. Just remember, a yacht can just as easily be your coffin as it can be your opponent's. A ten million dollar coffin. Funky. First off, this guide will only be for those that already know the basics of gunslinging. I'll assume that you already know how to get headshots and roll. #1. Mess with your yacht settings so that everyone who dies on it will respawn on the yacht. That way you can spawntrap. #2. Use an assault shotgun or bullpup, depending on the situation. The shotgun is great because they might respawn right beside you on the poopdeck, and you'll want to be able to obliterate them instantly. If they spawn somewhere else and you know exactly where they are, use the bullpup. The special carbine is superior for long range accuracy, but the bullpup's higher rate of fire makes it more efficient at scoring headshots up close. If your target starts using explosives (RPG, Trap Bombs...) then fight fire with fire. I'd recommend camping in one of the dead end corners in each of the yacht's side halls. That way there's only one angle your opponent can shoot you from. If you feel like you need to change positions, turn your yacht defenses on for a few moments. #3. You can snipe kids on the beach from your yacht, but as you're limited to a confined space they can more quickly sight your position. Plus, the rocking of the ship throws off your homing launcher aim, whilst those on the beach can missile you to their heart's content. Basically, try to keep them on your yacht unless you know for a fact that you can out-snipe them. #4. Get the higher ground. Try to maneuver your way to the top of your yacht, but only if there is nobody on the beach that will shoot at you. #5. If you want to practice your yacht killin' skills, host yacht parties (then crash them) or start up yacht defenses on populated servers. #6. Kids going off the radar and sneaking onto your yacht? Place proxy mines near the ladders to have a good laugh. The sound of the ocean masks the beeping surprisingly well. #7. Shoot through stairwells. There are gaps in the stairwells that you can nail kids through. Good to know if you can't immediately reach the higher ground. #8. Put proxies on the yacht choppers. Trust me. I'll now toss in a few vids I made showcasing most of the techniques I've listed.
