GTA Online 2?

If there was a gtao 2 it would be a new city, therefore you would be moving to that city. I see us being able to keep our vehicles, but r* would have some in-game charge for vehicle exporting between cities. Something pricey that you'd have to drop a few shark cards to cover the cost.

Level, money, and vehicles should carry over.

Hahahah... ya right?

People thinking that rank.. money and vehicles will carry over are living in a fantasy world.

R* isn't just gonna shoot themselves in the foot profit wise just to appease some players. Why the hell would they even to do that anyways?

Its a new game.. What would be the point with allowing everyone that played GTA O to carry everything over?

Its not like it will matter. You're going to buy GTA 6 anyways... so might as well face reality now that no transfers will happen.

Maybe a lot of people enjoyed or forgot what it's like to start the game and leveling to 100, but I'd rather not do that again.

Ya i don't remember leveling to 100 because it happen so fast.

I did it twice with 2 different characters back in 2013. Takes about a week...

WhoooOp Deeee DoOOO. :D

Might a few million $ as compensation, or access to some unique vehicles like how they carried over last-gen console players to the current-gen platforms. (Blista Compact...)

Or not, who knows, it's Rockstar! :D

It may kind have sense in all

Maze bank covers only LS gangster bussinesses.

You can play as the same avatar in every city, but are very limited to its content.

Here comes one and only important thing in transfering stuff.

Cars. They has to be transferrable. And not sellable.

Cars that will be shipped into next Online should be insuranceless after arriving at the docks, making player deliver his/hers 4 wheels safely to somewhere to get legit papers and new license numbers.

If you order to ship more cars, you take more risk.

it would be funny if You could actually steal someones car from the docks.

The rest is up to You to sink and gain respect in the new criminal environment, and build another empire.

How does that even make sense tho?

Everyone playing GTA O 2 1st day release... And everyone driving around in 3 mill super cars... that have outdated graphics... in a new game.

And if they allow character transfer.. Characters would look outdated because the new version is DIFFERENT..

Now that GTA O has 7 garages... what the f*ck would be the actual point of anything?

oh man, You silly :)

The transfer option could come after an half a year of the Online2 release.

Secondly outdated graphics? Do you know how many players have been playing the game in MAXIMUM settings? I would like to play at this "outdated" max graphic setting that we are allowed to have. with a couple of new nvidia technologies, in your next Online.

And we can stop here, becouse GTA was never about graphics, so that s the actual point.

Number of garages is just a self preference, why you ask about them?

Every GTA game that comes out improves on looks and sound on every aspect of the game not just in graphics but art too.. I mean.. just comparing GTA 4 to 5 proves that.

The amount of work that would be done to make sure your character and vehicles transfers over would end up either holding GTA 6 back.. And cause major profit loss on the next game.

I mean.. could you imagine R* devs sitting there saying. "Ok guys we have to make sure everything transfers over prefectly for the next version"...

Because i can see Take Two CEO sitting their saying "Are you out of your GOD DAMN MINDS?"....

Nothing can be gained from holding back next GTA 6 by appeasing fans that want everything handed to them on a silver plater when the next version comes around.

GTA is about starting from the bottom... and making your way up the criminal food chain. That is the basic GTA story line for every GTA.

Maybe R* will have a funny way off getting around the complaints of players.. By having your old character arrested and jailed with all your assests and money removed as the intro to GTA O 2.

I mean really.... if players don't like starting over. They can alway plays GTA V/O. No one would be forcing them to buy the next GTA 6.

Dr Labuschagne

You know. This is How I saw GTA online back in 2012.

A cross platform, Unlimited player MMO GTA online, with a master dedicated server and a North America map expansion. With everything from single player included

Sharing property (Living with your crew in one mansion,One hideout or Criminal organisation Building disguised as an Office with actual workers at every floor)

No more teleporting into properties

Real time in-game internet

Mansions should be easy put in now if these are followed

Dynamic Apartments buildings (I.e Eclipse Towers will only offer 156 suits only with different floors and views

In-depth vehicular tuning (including audio)

Living anywhere even where your business is (If you own a tuning garage, you can living in the spare rooms upstairs

Buying anything online

Buying from other players, including auctions...

In-depth unarmed combat

Player made Television content

Basic parkour

Since everything is real time. Some missions may have a significant effected on stocks for a limited time.

Super Classics

Drift touge events

BMX/Motocross tricks

Shot Dodging

Dual Wield

Holding a Pistol with one hand during R2/RT trigger aiming

More Dynamic Water Physics

Surfing

More NPC's

Recreate the Rockstar Creator to build property almost anywhere

Parking lots Reserved for impromptu Drag racing and Drifting. Also car meets

Instead of showcasing upcoming DLC content, why don't they showcase it as a form of advertisement. (I.e A new car/s comes. It has a TV Ad or its shown on the internet. Or new clothes and accessories being shown on fashion shows or in-game fashion blogs or websites

Real time Social media

More sports events

Seasonal Geographical changes, man made or natural (I.e California forrest fires)

Criminal or Crime fighter

If one man goes down in a heist, we keep going but we lose his/her cut only...

Ah well. There is always 28 years from now

I think the point a lot of people are missing is that Los Santos has been a part of GTA for two decades, and Rockstar don't just dump their history and 'move on'. They're an intelligent company, so they put things to rest for a while and concentrate on newer and fresher content.

The next GTA online game will no doubt be in a new city, but the question is how integrated will that new city be with the existing online city of Los Santos?

I'm hoping that online gaming has advanced enough over the last five years to enable us to travel freely between two or three cities. And I fully expect in future generations - 50 years from now - to be able to go GTA online and travel between dozens of cities, perhaps even continents.

I don't care tbh what Rockstar do when it comes to my existing character, level, cash, etc... but I wish people would open up their minds and start seeing the GTA online world for what it could really be - an open gaming platform where we access everything in GTA, not just separate servers with separate versions (cities) of the game.

Just let me come and go between cities and I'll be happy... but how they'll implement that I have NO idea.

Why would our characters and stats transfer? What game does that EVER? The only way I could ever see that happen is if the next online is an addition to this one and we travel from one city to the other with our characters, and even at that, I highly doubt it.

ever since GTA III which I;ve been playing massively while being a teenager I was thinking about playing with my friend, creating a gang, play in different cities together. Time passed since those days, and I think tha GTA went exactly in the right direction, but we're in the middle yet.

patience.

The thing is.. Old Los Santos (GTA San Andreas) looks nothing like new Los Santos. (GTA V).. Just like GTA 3 - GTA 4

Meaning every new GTA game changes everything. They keep the lore intact, but everything else changes from the look, size and game play mechanics.

So in order to make a game where we traverse between citys with existing cars and players.. Means GTA needs to stop evolving and stay exactly how it is. And Take two would really need to stop caring about profits.

I hope you're wrong.

If Take Two are worried about loss of revenue, why not give us a 'customs' checkpoint between cities? You have to pay $60 for initial access (the new game) and then they strip you of your money, rank, possessions, etc... when you enter the new city, and then hand it all back to you when you go back to Los Santos.

This would be a pretty weak solution as I'd like to be able to jump in a jet and fly wherever I choose, just as 'me' in GTA online, but it would be better than having GTA online on two different servers that you have to dashboard between to get access. Seems so crusty and old fashioned.

But theres also the fact that GTA 6 will update graphics/game mechanics on every aspect of the game.

So its like they have to update all of old GTA V to make it work with new GTA 6.. Or make sure GTA 6 doesn't not evolve at all to allow that to happen.

I mean if going from GTA O.. to new GTA O 2 something would have to give if that was allowed anyways.

Meaning as soon as you step back into old Los Santos.. The game simply downgrades to old GTA O to compensate/game play. Then upgrades when you come back GTA 6/0. And that would be a hell of a lot of work.. to even attempt to pull it off. And the down side is from a business stand point.. R* would stand to lose HUGE amounts of profits if any vehicles can easily be transferred if they made that happen.

So there really a bunch of reason. Not just from a technical stand point.. But from a profit stand point too.

Its wishful thinking.. But id say starting over is whats best for the game and best for business. Because the biggest issue is if they carried over GTA O.. it carries with it Old GTA O problems too.

My vision has always been that GTA:Online will be just THE One thing which will expand more and more.. no Online v2 or anything.

Map expansions, same character, travel new locations with loading screen (due to console restrictions?)

There's already so much stuff and to re-work or transfer all the content from previous Online v1 seems too much work.

Even worse if the game engine updates alot from V to VI.

And yea, I would be pissed too if I had to start all over again.

...and that's why we've been running riot around the city the last few days, not really caring about grinding cash any more, just spending and buying our hearts' desire.

The announcement of RD2 has been the catalyst for this - and although this game is developed by a different Rockstar studio, it will take focus away from GTA online and allow Rockstar to work on the next GTA game in the background. It gives us all a welcome break.

So it's pipe dreams, you're right - the hope that the next GTA game will allow us to travel between various cities and not just start all over again grinding the same old sh*t on a different server. And we all know that Take Two are profit based so they're not going to spend millions of dollars refurbishing Los Santos just to make us happy.

But who knows... one day, in 20 years from now, we could have all GTA cities active online: Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas, Liberty City and Vice City... and maybe other cities besides. And that's the long-term vision we should aim for.

I think it should be a healthy blend. Have the option to start from scratch or transfer.

However, I think level and unlocks should be set to a low level but not as low as level 1. Perhaps starting at like level 10.

They could use a storyline to drive why you lost most of you wealth from the past and allow players to bring in cash from current GtaOnline but set price brackets based on how much total income a player has.

And let the player bring let's say 2 outfits and one land vehicle to make the trek to where GtaOnline will be set in Gta VI and one firearm and Mele weapon.

This way it gives transfers a little leg up but won't be to OP if a player wishes to do so.

Everyone has their own reason for playing GTA...

But the fact is every gta has evolved graphically... From Gta 3 --- to GTA V.

The world maps.. the npcs.. the attention to detail. Every single one looked better then the previous version.> Its what R* does best.

Not sure... whats so funny? lol

Does no one remember the interview about GTA Online where they said it would continue to expand with future games, and the reason it is not GTAV Online is because it is not specifically tied to that game?

Proof or didn't happen.

Also they probably are thinking ahead, till the end of this generation, so they create very detailed, vertexfull models and simply downgrade them automatically for the contemporary graphics level.

Thats how corporations works. They plan.

What I think we will see in GTA ONLINE 2 and Grand Theft Auto Next:
We most likely will get a new map, but not per se in a different location. For the new game, if it actually is in another location, you will be able to travel back to Los Santos. But I think something entirely different will be the case.

We will see another re-imagination of San Andreas, in which the city of Los Santos is double the size or larger etc. With all the cities (larger than ever before) and towns from San Andreas and a fleshed out ecosystem. A game designed for Current Generation consoles and completely built up to use the maximum power of these consoles.

  • A map larger than anything we have ever seen before in a sandbox game. (Well, Just Cause might still be larger in terms of size, but this game will be full of life) Multiple cities, dozens of towns and filled with hundreds of criminal opportunities. You are the focus, you are the syndicate, the game folds around YOUR actions, not vice versa.
You want to start a meth business? You start small by driving into the desert and cook some meth (using a minigame) and sell it to some dealers. Are you elite class? You just buy a warehouse and let your associates or MC members do the work for you, while you sell the product in larger quantities.
You can choose to work for NPC's or just do your own work (as introduced by the Biker Update). Now on a larger scale with over a hundred missions and different locations.
  • Play in free mode, without the cloud loading screens. You want to start a mission, you play that mission within free mode. You want to play tennis, you go play that within free mode. Gone are the long loading screens which resulted in a huge loss of players.
Won't this be a problem due to grievers? No, as just as the case now, people who play activities in free mode cannot be harmed. They won't even see it if you do donuts with a car on the field.
  • A brand new Wildlife and Ecosystem, just as we have seen in Red Dead Redemption 1 and will see an expanded version of that in 2. Animals will hunt other animals, and you are there to witness it all.
  • Better AI. Law enforcement will actually try to arrest you instead of just kill you in the lower cases of stars. Military will always shoot to kill, just as the FIB and IAA. More individuals, more different units.
Civilians will act less aggressive as they do now. Especially with motorcycles or while walking the civilians in GTA Online result in you becoming roadkill way to often. I know they act scared, but they should not just drive you over when someone else starts shooting.
  • The current properties will still be in the game although due to the huge changes of the map, they are most likely on a different location than you are used to. This ensures that the players will not lose their investments. Seasoned players will perhaps get a bonus of $500.000 along with the starters bonus of $1.000.000 with a copy of the game.
  • Way more individuals. A living and breathing world, just like in single player. You go on the highways early in the morning; you might just run into traffic. You are in a mall, yes of course it is crowded. Also people will act to their class (similar to Watch_Dogs 2 and Mafia 3). A rich individual might be robbed in front of you when he is walking through a poor neighborhood. Help him or not? Options are there.
  • Heists are back in a big way. Not per se larger, but there are just way more of them. Each city will have at least 5 heists, which work the same as they do now.
However smaller heists can be performed on the fly. You want to rob that jewelry store? You just do it; however you have to evade the police otherwise you lose all what you have stolen.
  • Open locations. One of the biggest flaws and criticized things of GTA V. You want to walk into the Cluckin' Bell and order a burger? Do it. Or you just rob it for some quick cash and crying employees. Hundreds of open locations, as introduced in Mafia 3 and Watch_Dogs. Burgerjoints, fastfood restaurants, clothing shops, bars, clubs and more.
  • Activities in free mode. Grand Theft Auto Online 2 will be larger than ever before. A living and breathing world and you partake in that world. Go for a round of bowling (traumas right there) or take part in an illegal street race. dozens or hundreds of activities to partake in, and as always: YOU are the center of attention. We have already seen activities like these in previous installments and in the single player of GTA V.
  • Criminal activities in free mode. You want to sell drugs on the streets, you can. You want to rob innocents? You can. You see an expensive car? Take it and sell it. Sneaking, crouching and prone will be introduced into the game.
  • A game for every kind of criminal. Play how you want to play. Want to be a biker, you can join up with a local MC or create your own. You want to create your own criminal enterprise? You do that. Why not combine the two and be both a CEO and a MC President at the same time? A game with almost no limits and barriers. You want it, you do it.
  • Moving car wipers and NPC's who actually use their turn signals. <- these bother me personally way to much.
  • Mobile Phones. No this is not Watch_Dogs, so don't go around hacking people, but individuals will use their phone to record your actions or call the police. Yes you can also stop them from calling the police. Just as the case in GTA Online now, the Mobile Phone is an extension of yourself, access your mail, bank, pictures, movies, texts or just the internet in general. It will play a larger role in this game than ever before. Take a selfie while you are parachuting or diving through the beautiful coral of the sea.
  • Parkour. It is a crime game, so where the hell were the parkour options in the last game? Mafia 3 did quite a nice job, Watch_Dogs a wonderful one, but GTA really lacked the parkour options.

How does the Character transfer work?:
You have to transfer your character to GTA ONLINE 2. Similar as the current progress from last to current generation consoles. You can change your characters appearance and name again, (perhaps later in the game as well) but not the gender.

Wait? You think I am just a hopeful thinker? Well isn't that what this thread is about. But actually a lot of the features above are already in some way in the game or previous installments. Be it in single player of online. This game was originally made for Last Generation consoles, now we will see a game which fully embraces the current generation of consoles.

Of course we will see larger draw distances, better visuals, graphics, lovely lightning and animated clothing. But that is always the case in a brand new AAA game.

TL;DR:
This is my envision of Grand Theft Auto Online 2. A huge, breathing and living world, were YOU are the center of the game. It should feel like Single Player while still playing Online with your friends. Long or short missions and hundreds of options to play the game. GTA ONLINE 2 will be a game for the players. You play how YOU want to play.

Also they probably are thinking ahead, till the end of this generation, so they create very detailed, vertexfull models and simply downgrade them automatically for the contemporary graphics level.

Thats how corporations works. They plan.

Hopefully thats not how its gonna work. I don`t want the next GTA held back by the previous one just because a few players can`t get over the fact that its OVER. But logically.. the way GTA is made. There won`t be any transfers of anytype.

Also... if this about corporations... It makes no sense what so ever to allow transfers of money and vehicles from a porfits stand point. Seriously...

It makes every single bit of sense to allow people to keep what they have.

Online open world games are not like single player games. In games where there is real money micro transactions, monthly fees, or paid expansions, you rarely see sequels. Instead you have expansion after expansion and sometimes full overhauls of the graphics engine over years and years. The reason for this is that people see their character and their game as an investment.

The thing here is that wiping everything and making everyone earn or buy it again does not mean that 100% of the players stay and do so. It's a GTA game. we will have to earn again basically the exact same things we have now. All GTA games are fundamentally the same in that category. A good number of the players will simply not play the new game and be bitter that it's a cash grab and that Rockstar just sh*t on them. Sequels to online open world and RPG games generally never do as well as the original.

Asking players to delete all their progress and all their cash invested and do it all again means a good percentage of those players quit and never look back. Why invest again when the company just took away all the money they spent and crapped all over their purchases?

In a game economy like this where transactions are optional 1% of the players bring in more than 90% of the revenue. Most of the players that have spent hundreds or thousands on shark cards are the players they want and need to keep, and the players that bought nothing are totally irrelevant to future plans. Which group do you think wants to keep the stuff they paid for? They are a business. Sequels to paid games very rarely make more than the original.

OoooH hell No! It makes no sense at all. You really gotta be drunk on the koolaid to believe it would ever happen.

Lets be realisitc. GTA 6 is not an expansion... its a new game.

And not being able to tranfser will not hurt GTA 6 sales at all. Its going to break records.. its gon a be hUuuuGE.

But being able to transfer will infact HURT profits for anything they plan online. And also hold the game back. And thats just basically fact.

A good number of the players will simply not play the new game

Ahahahahaha... Yaaaa... right.

Who you kiddin.

A few teaser trailers and you`re all hooked like crack heads. Common now..

would you exchange transferring stats over every city and have option to swtich them whenever you want/need to do intercity missions, for some graphics but outdated level of gameplay stracture? oh man, thats so f*cking sad. smells like ubisoft sh*t.

this is almost like a tetris game: u build your score, and after winning stage clears, you start all over again, but with more fancy colors.

tetris.

*i dont want the old gen to hold back my precious graphics*

TE-f*ckin-TRIS.

We need to keep our ranks and character skill for sure. I'd be pissed if I was the same level as everyone else, it'd clear up whose returned to GTA and is not a noob.

K/D should be reset though (:<

KDR should just be removed.

Agreed. Most of my friends won't play a TDM with me because it will "hurt their KDR". I always say to them "Grow up, this is not COD."

You're not making any sense..

Its a NEW GAME tho. Have you not been paying attention to how R* makes games? Do you not notice that every new GTA game that comes out is different then the last in terms of visuals and game play mechanics.?

Seriously man..

And this..

Like R*is supposed to care that you can't transfer sh*t over from a previous game...to GTA 6 When you always have the options to go play GTA V anytime you wanted too.
