I'd support a punishment of 60 days in solitary. They deprive us of playing with friends, we should do the same to them.

The online service that allows people to play games online is currently down, undergoing maintenance, or having problems.

It's more relevant in the online portion of this forum than anywhere else as a PSA.

No psn in general is down which has nothing to do with gta online.

It's not like ps4 gta online doesn't work like the xbox was which was a gta online issue.

Nice try tho, hope you don't blame the janitor for shark card conspiracys.

There is a DDoS going on against Dyn. PSN, Twitter, Reddit, ... are all using those servers so that's why they're down or hard to reach.

Oh so that's why I'm getting "tweets aren't loading right now" todayc

Yeah it's all working on my end now, playing a bit of IW. I'm thinking of picking up a new game today either Mafia III or Battlefield 1

I'd advise everyone to reset their passwords right now, there are tons of reports of people having their accounts banned or hijacked.

Ive been able to sign in randomly, other times I get dns errors. My isp confirmed to me that there is some sort of attack going on.

You won't be able to do it now seeing as PSN is currently down for maintenance but as soon as it's up reset your password and enable 2 step verification.

are you kidding i just got back and wanted to play some infinite warfare beta and now i cant this sucks. i also heard battlefield came out today that really sucks if you cant play that. i really hope sony gets it together and learns how to protect the servers. and some people are saying this wasent a direct attack on sony but what were they attacking? i sure hope this gets fixed soon.

Sony isn't at fault here, there's not much you can do to protect yourself from DDoS attacks. And they were targeting Dyn, a DNS server based company which hosts websites such as Twitter, Reddit, CNN, PayPal and obviously PSN. All of them were affected by this attack.

 

So stop blaming Sony for something they have no control over if you have no idea just what you're talking about.

I'm online now in the UK, in an invite only session. It was giving me the cannot load files, and servers not available notices for a bit, but working now. Also noticed the red dead redemption 2 loading screen for the 1st time.

Don't count on a lot of sh*t working over the weekend. It'd be nice for Sony to reimburse us for this sh*t though by extending PS+. Least they could do since they just flush our money.

 

I know it's not Sony at fault this time, just talking about any other time they get taken down.

they said it should go from 10:30-11:30pm pacific time, so roughly 1 hours but with the events of today it may take longer.
