Tapping X (A) to Sprint

I forgot that was a thing. In PC you just hold Shift no matter the view.

 

They should make it an options in settings.

there is a reason why they "removed" it in first person. i just cant remember what it was. there is a little difference in 1st and 3rd person, some kind of disadvantage or just bad handling that lead to change this.

They should have mapped this to R1 and not X so you would still have control over the camera.

This makes sense.

 

OT: I still like to be able to walk, jog and sprint. There are situations for all of them where one is superior to use over another. I understand why they didn't use it in FP, as you can hardly see where you're standing anyway.

your thought process makes no sense. There's a mechanic in the game where you get tired and can't sprint. There has to be a jog.

did you just start to play? You won't get tired if you max out your stamina

because it would feel like you're walking through quicksand if it was any slower in first person. the speed had to be comparable to how most other fps feel.

It has been a tradition to masturbate your controller to sprint since '98, the function acquired vintage and appreciation throughout the public, one can't simply undo video-game heritage like that. :kappa:

Switch to Standard FPS control scheme, you can run by clicking the left analogue stick

You can use the interaction menu while you sprint too which is great for elite challenges

This is one of those chronic irritations I have with this game. Whoever implemented it at R* clearly didn't realize that:

 

1) Stamina is maxed out fairly quickly. Meaning the player will choose to run everywhere rather than jogging, because it is faster, but will hate doing so because of mashing a button instead of holding it or clicking it once to enable run mode.

 

2) Walking slowly is pretty pointless when outside or in any other situation where running is enabled. Thus, jogging speed should have been the default to allow for easier movement, with the stealth mode mechanic already allowing for slower and more precise movements when needed (and while on topic, forcing people to move slowly inside certain areas is also annoying).
