shazlow
There is probably so many people working on GTA6 at the moment, at least all one of them should have accidentally leaked some info by now? There must be lots of info on rockstar servers! All it takes is one stupid employee to say the wrong thing at the wrong time, But everything is so secretive nothing has been leaked, after all this is just so unnatural and unlikely that I now think rockstar aren't even working on GTA6. Bare
They're probably in the early stages of developing the game, if they've even started. I'm not so sure they're working on it yet now that RDR 2 has been announced, but also I know there are several divisions of Rockstar so they can probably make 2 games at the same time. I don't expect another GTA to come out earlier than like 2019 though, so either way it may be too early for leaks and anything that got leaked now would probably end up being changed or removed by the time they finish the game anyway since it would be very early beta content. Nico
...there are several divisions of Rockstar so they can probably make 2 games at the same time. They may be able to work on more than one project at the time, but clearly one of these projects always takes the biggest slice of the cake when it comes to priorities. From what I can tell, a small team has been working on GTAO updates during the last three years, and the rest focused entirely on RDR2. boyben 1 Did you see the frightened ones? XXVIII
As it pertains to Grand Theft Auto: VI, which is a videographic concept and creation that I have been pondering at a nearly daily rate, ever since that occurrence in April, I am just clinging to the notion that it is somewhere close to the top of Rockstar North's precedents. I am so hoping for it, and continuing to employ optimism that the global Grand Theft Auto populous will indeed, be in receipt of the 'Sixth Chapter' that resonates as being as much of a tenacious and brilliant spectacle that Red Dead Redemption: 2 will seamlessly be emboldened as. If I may also say, the succinct footage of Red Dead Redemption: 2 that was furnished yesterday, by my humble postulation, truly set the graphical and structural benchmark and standard for Rockstar Games' prologue into the Current-Gen era of gaming. What I mean by this is that ultimately, even though the Red Dead series differs from that of the Grand Theft Auto series, Red Dead Redemption: 2 is going to lend itself to Grand Theft Auto: VI's potential. In a massive way; especially with those immersive, dark environments, billowing smoke particles and crisp, orange hues of the fire / embers, as well as the water ripples. Grand Theft Auto: VI will be an amazing feat when it reaches trailer form, that is for sure. It will be well worth the wait.
DS 17
Look, V is bringing a lot of money to R* without almost any time or effort in development. They will bring the same system to RDR2 now. Most likely they will put all their capcacities in that, because imagine, if they announced a new GTA. Most likely this would not be operating with existing GTA Online, thus it would take sales from current GTA Online, because people won't spend so much in there anymore, if they already know it will end soon. R* is just like EA, but they are doing it that way so the people are not even mad on them. Maybe because the majority doesn't even see that. Femme Fatale
They're still making money off of V and Online, and they just announced RDR2, so we're not going to hear any news about VI for a pretty long time... EVOLUT7ON and DIEXEL

jpm1
depends of what OP says by new GTA. whole new, or episodes?. i think chances to see an episode are higher than chances to see a brand new game. Houser stated in an interview, that a new GTA won't be planned until hardware has evolved enough. so, news about a brand new GTA won't come out anytime soon. concerning an episode, they don't leak for several reasons, first they don't want the competition to know what they are doing, which is logical, but i think they also don't want to work with pressure. they have enough pressure with the competition, they don't want to have the community pressure as well. and of course, we can't dismiss the case they totally changed their gun shoulder, and they simply decided not to do SP, and to focus only on GTAO. i can't imagine R★ doing this, but basically we can't dismiss that possibility Edited October 22, 2016 by jpm1

slimeball supreme
Because R* have their data on lock. GTA V pretty much started it's development immediately after TBoGT, and it wasn't heard about until it's official announcement in 2011. Then, pretty much nothing was leaked until a few days before it's release in 2013 (and it was a few beta gameplays of V with unfinished physics and graphics). This has been a thing with R* since the beginning. They don't open their mouths willy nilly and this process was one of the things that helped generate V's insane hype. Why would they stop? grope_4_that_date
I bet there are a lot of legal repercussions if the company can prove you deliberately leaked any information. Stuff like that can really hurt stocks and marketing strategies, but that’s just a theory I don’t know sh*t. But what puzzles me is if you work for a high-end gaming company like Rockstar, are you allowed to bring your cell phone into work? Would be a pretty interesting world…

Emmi
I'm pretty sure all of R* staff is currently hard at work on RDR2 ... they probably already have the concepts down for GTA VI, including the setting ... but that's basically it. Once RDR2 is done most of the staff will start working on GTA VI with a good portion working on Bully 2, which in my opinion is their next release after RDR2. So RDR2: late 2017 Bully 2: May 2019 or late 2018 GTA VI: 2021 We have a long way to go till the next GTA ... but actually I don't care, it's good that they let their franchises rest for many many years until the next entry ... but it's time for a Bully sequel (I want it so much, please R*, after RDR2 make it happen!) Both of those earns them a sh*t ton of revenue. In fact, R* has reached the status of one of, if not the best game developer, which means that each game they dish out, no matter how crap it is, WILL sell millions of copies everywhere. So no, they ARE NOT expected to make another games, would it be nice? Of course it would! But they don't need to, nor are expected to, as long as their current games maintain the same level of quality and success. And calling me a kunt? LOL this is golden, what are you, 12? Mister Pink
Leaked info can be interesting and fun for us but I would imagine it's frustrating for the developer especially if it's something that you really wanted to surprise the player with. I would not like to be the guy to compromise a great project for the sake of getting some interweb creds. Some leaked info is probably official anyway, to keep us all guessing. Dock
How much of V was even leaked during its development? I think the biggest (if not only) thing we got was the "Project: Rush" cast call listing, which half the forum didn't even believe at the time until trailers slowly started putting it into place. Plus that one leaked gameplay screenshot of the Submersible in the Port of LS (had no HUD). I doubt we'll get anything huge for VI, and if we do, whoever responsible for it (if done by an employee) will be burned on a stake by R* I think
burger_mike
I hope we get another project rush. That casting call was leaked a few months before GTAV was annouced and the story was similar but not the same, it was like an early draft, hopefully the same kind of leak happens with VI. Jimmy
I bet Rockstar could be working on multiple games right now. But they will always want to let the current game gain more memberbase. GTA V has been greatly successful and beyond our expectations. They want to make the most of their current offering. Also considering the recent Red Dead Announcement, I don't expext GTA news till late 2017. i5 10400F • MSI Z490-A PRO • XPG 16GB DDR4 3000MHz • MSI RX 570 4GB • NZXT H510 • Cooler Master MWE 650 V2
