BretMaverick777
Those are buffalo, not bison. Buffalo are all but extinct nowadays, yes, but they were EVERYWHERE in the Great Plains (herds literally a million+ strong) during the Wild West. They were hunted to near extinction by skin-takers like Wild Bill Hickok and Buffalo Bill Cody by the 1880s-1890s. But these are most definitely buffalo, and will likely play a major role in any storylines involving Native Americans and hunting on the Plains. As for our little mystery critter killing the snake: I agree that a weasel or ferret seem most likely. Mongoose aren't native to North America. But another possibility not considered yet is the wolverine, Michigan's favorite rodent and everybody else's favorite X-Man. Chinese Takeout
Lets just call them Tatanka. Hahaha, awesome! Yes, I can support that nomenclature. I'm not sure, but I think we might be splitting hairs...hairs that don't further the progress of our analysis. But, then again, maybe they do. When I see people mention bison, or I refer to them as bison, this is the description & visual I am going by: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bison But, maybe that entry needs to be edited ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ BretMaverick777
Chinese Takeout
OFF TOPIC: By the way, I hope everyone is familiar with the wonderful, grammatically correct sentence that goes like this: "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo, buffalo Buffalo buffalo." Explanation: there are 3 meanings of the word buffalo being used: 1. The city of Buffalo, NY 2. another word for bison 3. The verb meaning "to bully" Substituting "NY," "bison" and "bully," the sentence would look like this: "NY bison (that other) NY bison bully, (themselves) bully (other) NY bison." or, "NY bison NY bison bully, bully NY bison." Get it? ;-) (Google will tell you more about it) Edited November 4, 2016 by Chinese Takeout saintsrow and BretMaverick777
tsycho
In the scene with the elk in the valley it looks like there might be a fox watching them in the bottom left through the leaves. Can't link as I'm on a phone now but I'm certain there's something there. The more I watch this scene, the more I believe that you are right... Man, there were domestic cats even in the Ancient Egypt. Cats weren't that common in the old west, but they were around for sure, after all they are present wherever the Western Civilization is present. They can be useful for the ranchers to keep mice and other animals away from the barns. High society carried them to the west territories as a pets too, etc. Edited November 13, 2016 by Perez84
Mokrie Dela
Now you said that I remember the Egyptian angle I'm not a cat person, really, so it didn't really stick in my memory! Still, I want to see a Eastwood-style western movie about a man and his cat. saintsrow 1 The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Jabalous
Birds - Crow? Crows are pretty much given and you can actually hear the sound of one in the background of the trailer between 00:14 to 00:16. Just by focusing your attention on the background sounds and especially if you're using a headphone, you could hear many subtle sounds that you wouldn't easily hear if you're focusing on the pictures. If you hear a crow sound, all that shows is that there's a crow sound in the game - we can only know if crows are in the game if we see a crow, really. I know it's pretty cynical but that's what happens after a few hype cycles for games ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Spider-Vice
Not to mention Rockstar also uses fake sounds for the trailers (i.e. they're not the ingame ones), for almost every trailer, but still I don't see why crows can't be in. Jabalous
I was bored and thought to have a new look at RDR2's only trailer on the game's website for best resolution. I don't know if anyone noticed this before in this topic, but between 00:27 to 00:30, specifically during the whole night campfire scene, if you look up at the sky, you would see more than a few black objects moving fast and resembling what I think to be bats. More nice little touches to complement the night atmosphere of RDR2, I assume. Pink Pineapple and Boone_Tuva

Jabalous
It's either that, or they're actually tree leaves being carried by the strong wind as can be sensed from the sound during that scene. It's a forest area after all and you can also see leaves falling closer to ground and the wind blowing them away. See the video below for something that looks similar in behavior.
