Playstation have partnership rights for Red Dead Redemption 2

So Playstation users get exclusive online content first, it seems. Don't see why it's such a big deal to people, as long as Xbox users will get it eventually. Besides, the majority will be playing the story mode a lot compared to the online anyway!

yea, I spent so much time in Story Mode, it took me a little while to touch online.

And then they switch to online once finished with single player, only play online and R* leave SP to rot, we know the drill..

I wouldn't say that they leave anything to rot. People always want new things all the time, but it is not how it works. Nowadays everyone is asking for single and multiplayer DLCs, yet they forget that this isn't something that has a priority. In fact, if Rockstar decide that there is a place for a SP DLC they will include it, but it isn't something the MUST do. If the story is complete from the beginning, then that is it, and people should deal with this. It is the same as the PC people. They have to accept the fact sometimes that a game can be for consoles only. Rockstar don't owe us anything.

Red Dead Online will be very different from the multiplayer you saw attached to RDR. You will want to grind, to gang up, play poker, customize your shed, your character and your guns etc...You will want to buy that premium bamboo kanooe, all of that noise.

I will probably love it, kinda like GTA-Online.

Yea, I have a feeling the multiplayer will be very different. I'll probably get on multiplayer, sooner than I did before. I can imagine the threads now.

"OK, what has 1.01 update changed?"

"Can I own more than 1 horse?"

"Quickest way to rank up"

"Rank up glitch!"

"How to upgrade shed"

"Best way to farm online"

lol, I can't wait. After seeing how gta:o is, I know this will be better. I'm sure r* learned from gta:o, to benefit us in the future.

.......f*ck greedy Sony. -_-

I would direct that at Rockstar for accepting it.

Mircosoft did the same thing with the gta4 add ons... Us PS users got absolutely shat on and our community probably wanted it more than the other platforms imo...

So I cant say they're greedy but it's about damn time we received some stupid temporary exclusiveness <333

You young fellas crack me up. DLC is a privilege, not a right. 90% of the games I've played in my life (since I'm old as hell now and used to play a lot of single player games on PS, PS2, Nintendo, and the original XBox) had no updates and remained as shipped.

DLC is great and all but I care a whole lot more about the quality of the game itself.

Why?

Honestly, i'm kinda disappointed.

The name that currently makes no sense, short trailer but with decent shots, mentioning Online in the first post they had, and now exclusivity for those who buy Sony products.

It's bad enough not announcing it for PC, but also restricting Xbox users is also a dumb move.

Rockstar, caring only about money and shark cards since 2013.

Surely rockstar are losing out on money if they don't release it on pc, so if they are as greedy as you say, then maybe they will make a pc version. Also, its only going to be a timed exclusive so i wouldn't say rockstar are restricting xbox users, really.

I remember this time 4 years ago i was here just before gtav got released and you could almost hear the sh*twinds creeping up on you then BAM, you have a sh*tnami on your hands, that being a whole bunch of people complaining everyday about how there wasn't going to be a pc release. Soon after people had sour tastes in their mouths from all the sh*t particles the sh*tnami emitted.

Great. Knew there'd be a catch somewhere down the line.

So how much are they cutting out of the game/holding back from the xbox guys?

They're such sellouts - literally. They did this with EFLC too. I swear, anyone can just wave a dollar bill at them and they'd do anything.

Rockstar did the same with Microsoft with GTA 4 and its DLC, I guess it's Sony's turn this time. All the content will come to the other platforms eventually, so there's nothing to worry about.

I don't know about that - EFLC took about a year to come to PS3, which was utter BS.

All this taking turns in having people from one platform p*ssed on is just childish and greedy, in my opinion.

Not only is this good news for me, but Rockstar still owe an exclusive game to Playstation.

I have always wanted to say this and I think today is the day.

it's ok brother, us ps users can rejoice Xbox players have to wait. This is payback for GTA 4, and Xbox getting GTA:O updates earlier.

(Kidding of course, I own a Xbox one aswell 😂)

Sony's life is hanging by a thin thread, the only reason they're still going is because of its big moneymaker Playstation.

So now Playstation has to come up with these god-awful subscription based products....

The yearly $50 cost for PS+ never really bothered me, even though I hardly play any (if any) of the free monthly games that come with it.

But this whole Playstation Now strategy is just such a blatant moneygrabbing scheme. (Same with the idiotic prices in the Playstation Store.)

Last year I gave my sister my old PS3, so I havn't played RDR1 in a while. I really would love to have it on my PS4, even if it isn't remastered.

But what I wont do, is pay for yet another subscription fee, solely because of Sony's bad business decisions in its last decade.

As a happy owner (or ex-owner) of the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4, buying an Xbox console never even crossed my mind. But if the next generation of Xbox turns out to have a more reasonable approach than Playstation, I'll gladly join the dark side...

Looks like there's a 7 day free trial on Playstation Now. That'll be 7 days of RDR1 on PS4 for me then...

Because back then we paid for full games and got full games with tons of content, so we didn't NEED DLCs. I came from that era too friend, those were great times.

The problem now is how every developer is focused on making their games with DLCs in mind now, and rub on our faces that we should spend much more money on a single game than it is worth, just to get the features that should be available from day-one.

Case in point: Compare how much content we got in GTA:SA and how much we got on V, and how much of that content went to Online instead of singleplayer.

I personally would wait to buy a PS4 if it was bundled with RDR2 since I don't have one yet. Although I'll probably just buy a PS4 before RDR2 comes out. f*ck me I'm excited for this game!

You don't have to wait for RDR2, there plenty of other good games on PS4 that are coming like GOW 4.

I would just wait until PS4 Pro comes out, so the regular PS4 will have it's price reduced.

Yeah, it seems strange that they would pay for limited exclusivity, but I'm guessing it works. They do the same with Call of Duty DLC and with the latest Tomb Raider. They all profit: Rockstar gets extra money with the deal and Sony/Microsoft with people desperate enough to get the extra content asap. It may be bullsh*t, but these are companies after all. They want to make as much profit as possible.

This sucks and I own both systems. This is destiny level of locking content

To be honest, it puts me off even buying it.

Maybe I shouldn't base my decision on how I feel now, but I've got to say, I'm p*ssed off. I've been set off by this.

If I could get hold of the filthy, scum, sleazy pedophile who did the deal, I'd ... I'll just stop now.

Maybe I should start up Red Dead's b*tch and moan thread?

If the "bonuses" from GTA V is anything to go by, I won't be missing anything.

Single Player content should never be split between users, looking at you Destiny.
