Rathskeller Fork? not really a town though, but i'm so interested to see how these places look!

Yeah, not sure I'd count it as a town. More like a small settlement kinda thing, if that.

Yes, let's split the f*ck out of those hairs! So much is being gained by this pointless nitpicking!

They may or may not put some random NPCs and animals in Mexico.  What they're not going to do is populate a huge, unplayable area with NPCs that have DIALOGUE, that you can INTERACT with. There also won't be HUNDREDS of them.  There won't be HUNDREDS of animals either.  And there won't be LEGENDARY animals.

Is that clear enough?  Maybe I should also specify which particular breeds there will and won't be, and draw up a map just so everyone understands exactly where specific animals will be and won't be.  Let's really dig into this, it's important stuff.

Way to go Captain Obvious.

If you don't like discussing and analysing things - or other people doing so, maybe find a new thread.

Man...imagine Ridgewood Farm, knowing the events that went on there!

I wonder if you'll be able to enter all the properties in the game

I've read and heard that A LOT of houses are explorable, but also a bunch are locked.

So much pre-release concerns here. Remember there's still an entire game on the map we have. I don't understand the sentiment to already start worrying because an area that was never promised or hinted to be in this game isn't included. Maybe wait until you actually have the game and experience it's gameplay, diversity, interactivity and story before you judge whether or not adding Mexico is a good or necessary idea at all. I'm already surprised we have NA in-game and I genuinely wonder how they're gonna fit that inside the story. Let alone having to add Mexico on top of that. Just wait until you actually have the game in your hands. Perhaps your worries will be completely soothed.

I wouldn't say there is worrying about Mexico not being in the game - we are just saying it is plausible that Mexico is in the game in some sort of fashion - there have been hints at it and that started when they offered a Neuvo Paraiso outfit as a pre-order bonus - and the screenshots of sweeping deserts?  Its just a discussion on a forum that is full of discussions and speculation over the past two years.  On October 26th, discussions cant start of what is real and not real.

Maybe they are gonna do a transcontinental railroad kinda story for it. Fits the time old west time period. Fits the overall location.

The Golden Spike National Monument is a fun little diversion to visit too, off the beaten path, not a lot of traffic, but teeming with significance for Americans. Incidentally, it was the last mile of 1,776 miles that joined up the continent. I visited it last year on a road trip and, while there's not a lot out there, it was a cool place to swing by.

Also, Utah Hwy 83 *may* be a place to really let the speedometer open up. A lot. Just sayin. ;)

At this point I don't expect Mexico in singleplayer anymore, biggest reason being that it serves no story purpose.

However, I do see them adding Mexico for Multiplayer. I do see them adding more valleys in the multiplayer over the next couple of years, perhaps along with some singleplayer stories. But for singleplayer… no, we won't see Mexico for a while. Perhaps with a RDR1 remaster, which, when you buy it, could give you some ingame gear for multiplayer, and non buyers would only be able to join missions there instead of start them...

We don't know what serves as part of the story yet - a gang on the run - running south of the border could be a very plausible scenario

Mexico will not be in the game. I think it's time for us accept that. There will obviously be Mexican presence in the game. Banditos, marauders and the like, but the different map leaks have pretty much shut down any possibility of Mexico being explorable.

Right, Mexico won't be in the game at launch. I do think there is a good chance for it to be included with a future singleplayer DLC, especially since they did not deliver any at all for GTA V.

I would agree if there wasn't a big land mass with the letters of MEXICO written across it - and we haven't really located the sweeping deserts that were promised in the game play trailers - have we?  I think the map leak only adds to the speculation of Mexico being explored at some point.

Here's my point: I was only saying that Mexico would be there but wouldn't be full of the kind of stuff that's in New Austin because we will only see parts of it from a distance, and it won't be playable.  Therefore they put some work into it (updating the geography) most likely, but not nearly as much work as was put into the rest of the map.  When you replied to split hairs about whether or not there would be ANY NPCs at all, it's completely beside the point of what we were talking about.  It's just being pedantic for its own sake.  That's not discussing and analyzing; that is derailing a minor but interesting discussion so we can instead have a pointless, nitpicking argument about something that absolutely does not matter at all.  Who cares if I can see a lizard or a walking guy in a sombrero from the other bank?  It doesn't change the original point I was making even a little bit.

You said there will be no NPC's or animals. I provided an alternative version of that in discussion, highlighting that they will perhaps have to integrate those things because of the distances from New Austin to Mexico in some areas of the map.

I was merely adding my view to the discussion. Nobody here is right because nobody has played the game. We can merely speculate. So the idea that your discussion points are 'worthy' and mine are nitpicking is idiotic, sorry.

There's a big landmass with the letters MEXICO written across it... Because that's Mexico. They're not suddenly gonna retcon the existence of Mexico because it's not accessible. It's still there, and we'll see it very well from the NA border. But with no bridges to cross (they were canonically built in 1911) and a river with a very strong current, we won't be able to go there. The sweeping desert shot could well be from somewhere in NA.

I've been going back over some of the locations we've talked a lot about & found that the Courthouse & Jailhouse rocks are called Twin Stacks. What's interesting is that @BretMaverick777 started calling it that September 22. Was the name ever mentioned by Rockstar or in any of the previews before? Just found it odd.

Also, looks like KNOB is called Citadel Rock. Anybody see any other official names of our landmarks?

BTW, Beecher's Hope is called Broken Trees?

Maybe - maybe not - we will see in a coupe of days here whether the progression of the story changes that point of view - the map very well could be what it looks like at the start of the game and it will progress over the course of the game

Broken Tree is called Broken Tree. It seems like Beecher's Hope doesn't exist yet.

Hows the scale on the leaked map work ?. Im not so good with scales :(

2x-2,5x as big as the RDR1 map. About as big as GTA V.

But it's not at all the point I was trying to make, which you could have figured out from context and moved past, rather than choosing to go on and on and on about something I said as a quick generalization that was clearly not meant to be taken 100% literally.  Will there be NPCs and animals in Mexico?  Maybe a handful near the river.  Will it be fully populated like it was in RDR?  Almost surely not.  Again, that's all I was trying to say.

Maybe they didn't include Mexico because,

1. It's not gonna be available from start. Maybe it becomes a visitable area as the story progresses, e.g. they "build the bridges" in say, maybe 1901 or whatever.

2. They are indeed planning on doing another Undead Nightmare for RDR2. Since the mask Seth found was in Mexico, maybe that's why they possibly wait with adding the region.

These are just my personal speculations, of course.

Henningan's stead

Presumably, sure looks like it.

I'm glad to have the bonus Red Chestnut horse, but given what we've learned about horses, I'm afraid to use him, haha... Don't want my bonus horse to bite it right away because I do something stupid.

Based on the town layout of Blackwater (from the map) and what we've seen in the trailers, it looks about the same.
